"The hell'r ya on about ya gobshite? This is great."
Mac couldn't help but gasp, giggling under his breath as he slapped a hand over his mouth in response to the boy's brazenness. The dark-haired boy had the tongue of a sailor. If his own father had heard Mac say something like that, he'd be grounded for weeks.
He then turned to face Mac, whose cheeks were just about as red as Gryffindor's banner. "Don't mind that nonsense, ya did fine. I'm Dan, by the way."
"Dan! I'm Mac," he managed, before holding his hand out for him to shake. "Thank you, but there was no need to, um..." He trailed off, unable to find the right words. Defend Mac's honor? Cuss the poor boy out? With a smile, he shook his head and moved on, opting to change the subject before he embarrassed himself. "Well, I'm glad you liked it, Dan. You're Irish, yeah?" The question was entirely rhetorical. The boy was very clearly, unabashedly Irish, in a way that reminded him of his brothers. "I'm from Northern Ireland, myself. Portstewart- well, sort of. Near Portstewart."

At the sound of Maggie wading into the lake, he turned his head just in time to see her grasp a school of small, wriggling fish between her hands. He cheered for her, uncharacteristically loud as she released them back into the water. "You did it!" he called out, his tone plainly showing how impressed he was by her coordination. As Maggie's turn came to an end, Chris chose truth for his own turn. A few suggestions came from the crowd, eventually ending with Carson.
“What about you guys?” he asked, to no one in particular, “What House Do you think you’d be in if you weren’t in your own?”
"Maybe Hufflepuff?" he replied, after a brief moment of hesitation. "I think Ravenclaw suits me fine, though." He was kind enough, he supposed, and he definitely cared deeply for his friends. He was proud to be an eagle, but he could easily see himself being sorted into Hufflepuff, had things been different.

So much was happening all at once, Tatiana could hardly keep up. She listened intently and with great interest as everyone opened up a little and revealed how they had all come to know the bright and glowing Gryffindor girl that had invited them all their that day. Then, she watched as said girl was brave enough to venture waist deep into the lake on a dare and catch several small fish in her hands. Simultaneously, she was able to observe both the shy exchange between Fumiko and Min-seo, as well as the tense situation that unfolded after Chris took a bite of Mac's casserole. She hadn't tasted it yet personally, though it smelled good enough. But everyone was allowed to their opinion, and while she didn't quite support Chris' expression of his own, she had to agree that taste was subjective.

At this point, Chris had agreed to a truth for his turn and Maggie had shared her observation that storm clouds were forming above them. The night was getting darker, but Tatiana could see the grey shadows moving across the sky toward them, and she hoped they'd stall a little longer. After all, Maggie had gone through the effort of gathering them all there, and everyone seemed to be having a good enough time.

As the group started offering up truths for him to answer, Tatiana began to think of how she would respond herself. Charlotte, offering up two options, had asked both, "What's your biggest regret?' and "Or what to people think of you that isn't true?" Carson, offering his truth up to more of the group rather than anyone in particular, asked, "What house do you think you’d be in if you weren’t in your own?”

They were all great questions. Her biggest regret? Nothing really came to mind- yet, maybe if she'd spent some time really thinking. And as for Charlotte's second question- she was also unsure, maybe a set of opinions she'd be better off inquiring about from others. But as for the house she belonged in, she immediately agreed with Mac as he answered. "Maybe Hufflepuff?" he had paused. "I think Ravenclaw suits me fine, though." She nodded as he spoke and added, "I always say I think I would have been happy and felt well suited for any house I was placed in, but I was surprisingly glad when the hat yelled 'Ravenclaw'," she smiled, remembering that night fondly. "But if it had to be any other, I probably would have picked Hufflepuff."

“What House Do you think you’d be in if you weren’t in your own?” Carson had an answer himself, but he wanted to get to know some of Maggie’s other friends, they all seemed nice enough, and he wanted to get to know more people before the year ended and everyone went home.
Fumiko hoped no one saw her flinch for a second there. She didn't expect to be asked that question so soon. It was one question she hoped no one would ask her. It seemed harmlessly innocent but to 12 year old Fumiko it reminded her that the sorting hat almost placed her in Slytherin.

Image was always important for Fumiko, she strived to be seen as that typical Hufflepuff everyone had no problems with. Behind Hufflepuffs history of being kind and trustworthy, she could achieve that easily.

As a Slytherin however, it would be...difficult, with their history of being power hungry and snobby purebloods. Not that she truly judged someoen straight away with their house. If she wasn't mistaken, Min-seo is a Slytherin herself right? But she has been nothing but sweet and shy since she came to the party.

Not to mention how different these houses were from each other. These people could suspect her if they knew.

Her goal was just more easily... attainable when she became a Hufflepuff.

Though it hurts her to lie to these people, she needs to keep this a secret at all cost. Like the questione never fazed her, she gave a big grin like it was a question she was waiting to answer.

After listening to Murphy's and Crane's house choices, she thought about a future where she suddenly revealed to almost be a Slytherin. She felt a bit of satisfaction in her heart that they both choose to be in her own house. Fumiko was sure Murphy and Crane would fit in Hufflepuff well with their kind personalities.

They probably belong in Hufflepuff more than Fumiko will ever be.

" Hufflepuff does have a nice cozy common room always filled with nice food and treats hahah~ " she jokingly bragged " I only met you guys for a while but I'm sure you both will be amazing Hufflepuffs. Just as you both are amazing as Ravenclaws " she sweetly smiled at them.

" Personally, I'm not sure what house I prefer the most since all of them represents traits I admire " yes start off with complimenting everyone's houses " But...I'll probably be in Ravenclaw. I'm not brave enough to be a Gryffindor. I'll probably switch to truth if I was dared to catch a fish with my bare hands. " she opened her palms, getting reminded how small they were.

" Same for Slytherin, not ambitious enough to be one " she gave a meek smile, skilfully lying through her teeth. " What about the person that asked this question in the first place ~" she said, turning to look at Carson. " What house do you think you'll be in? ". Fumiko remembered him getting sorted into her house so she was curious about his answer

“What about the person who asked the question in the first place?” she said, turning to look at Carson, “What House do you think you’ll be in?”
Carson grinned Fumiko, “I’m positive I’d be in Gryffindor. I’m not complaining about Hufflepuff, though, I have to agree with you on the common room.” he laughed, “Best room in Hogwarts!” he boasted, unashamedly bragging about his house. “I’m sure that my fellow Hufflepuffs would agree,” he said, smiling at Fumiko and Charlotte, who were sitting somewhat close to him. “Thanks for asking, by the way.” he added, sending Fumiko a quick grin. Thinking about his question, he decided that the ranking for which house he would’ve been in would be Hufflepuff first, obviously, Gryffindor second, Slytherin third, and Ravenclaw fourth. He didn’t have anything against any of the houses, he just didn’t fit the whole Ravenclaw thing. He wasn’t necessarily smart, he wasn’t creative, and he was probably the most stubborn person he knew, which completely bashed the whole “open minded” trait of Ravenclaw. Slytherin has come in third because it was notorious for having ambitious and determined students, and Carson was pretty determined when it came to some things, which is probably why he was sorted into Hufflepuff. Gryffindor would’ve been his second because, well, he fit the stereotype. He would’ve been surprised that he wasn’t sorted into that house had he known what Gryffindor was, but he was absolutely clueless, so he didn’t really care.

Min-seo smiled and nodded. ”Yep! I don’t want people to struggle with it. What about you?” she asked Fumiko. It was nice to talk to a person who understood how hard the transfer was from Asia to England. It had a totally different social thing than Korea, and it was overwhelming. Sure, she had been here since she was 7, but it still was hard to get used to. She was glad that people here were so nice to her, although she was quite shy.
“What house do you think you would be in if you weren’t in your own?”
Min-seo sighed. She had an answer immediately. ”Ravenclaw. I initially thought I was going to be in that house, but I’m in Slytherin, and I’m not sure how that happened,” she sighed slightly. Not that she hated her house, she just hated the legacy that was placed for Slytherin, the snobby only pure blood thing. She listened to all the other people. They all seemed like they loved their house. Min-seo played with a strand of hair that was out of the braid. She felt a drop fall on her forehead. She wiped it off and looked up and saw that it was sprinkling.

“I don't understand how people can be so mean to others. We're all living beings, is it that hard to accept?" ~Min-Seo

”Yep! I don’t want people to struggle with it. What about you?” Min-seo asked Fumiko
Oh well it looks like Fumiko didn't need to leave it to fate whether or not she'll get to talk about this with Min-seo. Could Fumiko really tell her true opinion about this. Thinking this would'nt hurt she gave it a shot. " Well...it still feels a teeeeeny weeeeny bit uncomfortable if people called me by my first name. A-ah I don't mind when it with you all of course " she looked at the party group , giving them a smile before leaning closer to Min-seo,

" 1st names are just a bit more important to me~ But we need to get used to this right? " she gave her a smile as she leaned away, a tad happy she found someone who could understand the struggles of different cultures.

Fumiko tried to hold her laugh in when Carson boldly bragged about their house, of course anyone could see she was trying very hard to keep in her laugh. It was refreshing to see someone so proud of their house. She would expect those from the other houses but this was the first time seeing a Hufflepuff doing it.

And she loved it.

She could truly see his Gryffindor side shining right now.

Though she still felt slightly embarrassed it was her house he was boasting so proudly, she returned Carson's grin. Though, she questioned why he felt the need to thank her. Wasn't it normal to send back a question like this to the other person? Fumiko thought when people asked questions like this, it was so they could be questioned the same thing.
”Ravenclaw. I initially thought I was going to be in that house, but I’m in Slytherin, and I’m not sure how that happened,” Min-seo sighed slightly
Ah ,heres the guilt Fumiko should've felt a long time ago. Though she stood by the fact that houses do not completely determine your personality, she felt like she was still one of the reasons Min-seo felt uncomfortable in her own house.

All Fumiko wanted to do was hug the poor sweet Korean girl and express how she understands that feeling. That feeling of thinking you don't belong in your own house. The house that was supposed to share traits with you, share interests, ...understand you.

Sometimes Fumiko really couldn't relate to her housemates that just jump with joy and kindness. Perhaps she could get along with Carson, and she already did get along with Cadunt. But most of the other Hufflepuffs, with their warmth, rainbows and glitter just tired her out.

Unable to comfort Min-seo better, she simply sent her an understanding smile and patted her shoulder softly. " The hat knows us better than we do ourselves. Maybe he saw something in u- a..you that you don't see yourself yet ~ "

that was close. She almost said ' us '.

She opened her mouth to say more but a small drop of water that fell on Min-Seo's head made her stop.

OOC: hey guys, i think i’m gonna go ahead and finish up this thread... it was so much fun RPing with all of you! tysm for participating, and if anyone wants to RP again, just owl me and we can brainstorm!
It was raining within second. Min-Seo had felt a drop of water on her head, and, next thing you know, it was pouring rain. Maggie hadn’t really understood the expression “it’s raining cats and dogs” before then, but now, running through the rain up to the castle with a bundle of blankets and chips in her hands, she got the jist of the idea. She couldn’t help but laugh, though, as the large crowd of students ran up the hill and to the castle. She’d ended up racing Carson, and winning, might she add, to the top, and she wholeheartedly thought that it was an amazing way to finish off the party. At least nobody had to worry about leaving first, right? As for the presents people had brought, Maggie had tucked them into a bag she had brought with her that she’d used to carry the chips and blankets. Luckily, they were all fine, and the group went their separate ways, Maggie leaving to go to her Common Room with a bright smile on her face.
