Meticulous to a fault, Évodie is a firm believer in the mantra that if you want something done right, you're going to have to do it yourself. More than that, she believes that there absolutely is a right way to do just about everything, and as such, she values her culture and tradition quite heavily. She can be stubborn, which, when coupled with her stalwart independence and eldest daughter complex, can manifest itself as a very annoying tendency to stick on one course of action and pursue it with every cell in her body. She has an appreciation for arts and culture born from her years spent travelling, and can happily while away days on end exploring libraries, museums, and galleries. If she's ever been late to anything even once in her life, then she's done a remarkable job of burying the story.

One would be forgiven if the first thing they noticed about Évodie was her height. At 6'1", she towers over most of the other women in her life, including her own sisters. Her eyes are a brown dark enough to be mistaken for black, and she tends to change how she styles her thick, dark hair regularly, though she has a clear preference for locs and braids. She has a large, branching burn scar just below her left clavicle from where a particularly nasty curse rebounded in the early days of her career.

BACKGROUND
▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀
Having grown up in a wealthy, magical-only, and relatively-secluded area of Kinshasa, it was difficult to determine whether Évodie's methodical Type A personality was one of nature or nurture. Congolese pure-blood society was small and insular, and as such kept close connections with neighboring pure-blood communities by necessity, evidenced by Évodie's own mother being Sudanese.

Évodie comes from a distinguished line of politicians and Uagadou academics on her father's side and one of talented seers on her mother's, a gift she unfortunately wasn't lucky enough to inherit. As Congolese naming traditions aren't conducive to being able to identify a person's lineage through name alone, Évodie was set to memorizing her family tree from almost the moment she was able to speak.

Where others may have floundered under the weight of heavy expectations, Évodie was determined to meet and surpass them. Despite her parent's encouragement towards further pursuing her talents in Transfiguration by specializing in self-transfiguration during her fifth year at Uagadou, Évodie instead opted to stay in the General Studies track before going on to become a Cursebreaker after she graduated. She then spent the next decade and change of her career bouncing around various African and South American countries as she honed her craft.

At 29, Évodie accepted a position teaching Kutumia Uchawi at Uagadou, and has remained a professor there ever since.

For such a serious girl, her first instance of magic at age 6 was a rather silly one, and has been favorite dinner party story of her parents' ever since. Startled by a beetle that had flown into the veranda and onto her face, she was shocked right into hiccups, each one releasing a barrage of little teal bubbles. It took a miserable, soapy half hour before the hiccups finally subsided. An embarrassing entry into the magical world, to be sure, but she likes to think that she's well made up for it.
