Lost in Knowledge PV Dale Kurt Closed

Dale spent most of his time at Hogwarts at the library, he loved almost everything about it, from the smell of the books to huge and towering bookshelves. He had finished his homework for the day and was taking time to just relax and read one of the many books he had brought from home. This particular book was one of the many books his mother would read to him when he was younger.

He had been reading for about 2 hours at this point, and his eyes were starting to hurt from squinting too much to try to read the small words. He put the book down and decided to take in his surroundings. There where many people in the library, most were doing there homework or just doing a bit of studying. Some of them were in groups just talking, no work, just talking. Sometimes dale wished he had a group like that, just to talk to and help each other out.

He got up decided to find a book about potions. Potions was his favorite non-magic subject, most likely because it was like chemistry, his favorite mortal subject. Potions class reminded Dale of the tutoring his dad would give him on his days off, just the thought of it made him a bit homesick.

But he pushed those thoughts into the back of his head, now was not the time. Instead, he wandered along the long bookshelves looking for a potions book that looked interesting.

And near the end of one of the many bookshelves, was a girl sitting in a corner, with a chemistry textbook covering her face, the same chemistry textbook Dale had brought him. He just couldn't hold in his excitement "Is that a chemistry textbook?" He whispered quite loudly, and he hoped he didn't scare the girl too much.

Dale looked at the girl with a curious expression. He had read that chemistry textbook too many times and did all the experiments with his dad, his favorite one was the one where he and his dad made some rocket fuel, albeit it was terrible and dangerous rocket fuel, but it was still amazing to make with his dad. He remembered the time he and his dad did the Pharaoh's snake, it was the one where his dad got yelled at by his mom for teaching her son something so dangerous, she made Dale promise to never try to do something like that ever. That was fine by Dale, the Pharaoh's snake was a horrifying thing to watch for him the reaction was a basic one but the result was giant yellow disfigured "snake" that grew out of the mercury, his dad also seemed a bit scared but assured Dale that everything was going accordingly. He wondered how the girl would get her hands some mercury thiocyanate, he was pretty sure handling such things at their age alone would be banned in Hogwarts, well maybe she knew how to make it, it was pretty simple just make mercury nitrate with potassium thiocyanate, but that seemed like of a hassle than to just get the mercury thiocyanate . He contemplated telling the girl not even think about doing it, but sadly his inner chemist took over.

"Well, you would need to make a charcoal gas mask, or possibly do it outside in a location where no one will be able to find you. " He told the girl in a calmer and quiet voice. But how are you going to get your hands on mercury thiocyanate, or are you going to make it? He said as his face bore a troubled expression.
