Crazy Coincidences
This is private, for @Charlotte Cadunt, please do not reply if you are not her! Feel free to read, however.
Maggie swung her legs back and forth in the air as she sat on the branch of a huge oak tree. She squinted down at her paper, sighed, and ran a hand through her hair exasperatedly. It just wasn’t going to work. Her plan had originally seemed foolproof, but it had become obvious that it wasn’t as simple as it had originally seemed. She wasn’t going to give up, however, that simply wasn’t in her blood. Her mother and father had withstood and worked through a plethora of challenges, and Maggie had always admired them for it. Her father had given up everything to provide for her and her siblings, he even lost contact with his family because he was always working so hard and often. She’d been told that he had a brother, in turn, that she had an uncle and maybe even cousins, but she had never met them. She jumped down from her branch on the tree, landing with a small oof and crunching a few leaves beneath her feet. She turned to walk back to the castle, as it was beginning to et cold and the sun was setting over the horizon, when she ran into someone, hard. Maggie quickly looked to the victim of her absent-mindedness and said, “My bad! Are you okay?”

Crazy Coincidences
Charlotte had been glancing at the clock and looking out the window for the past half our, desperately waiting for the moment the Professor would finish his lecture. It wasn't that class was boring, simply that Charlotte couldn't stand being indoors for this long. She saw birds flying by, wondering what it must feel like to travel freely, the wind and fresh air in your face, and she envied them for this freedom.
She looked from time to time at the board, as if to show she was paying attention and wrote down a few things. Finally, the professor looked as his watch and enthusiastically announce class was over. Just like all her classmates, Charlotte stood up and put her book, quill and notebook gently in her bag. Everyone rushed out of class as she walked behind gently, wondering why they were so ecstatic to get out of here, knowing that is was their last class of the day.
As she walked out, the corridors were already empty and silent and Charlotte closed her eyes for a few seconds, enjoying this rare moment. The evening sun shone through the windows and reflected on the polished stone, giving this whole space an unreal feeling to it. The birds chirped and the leaves ruffled as the wind blew lightly. She reached the end of the corridor, exited to finally be outdoors. She could spot the greenhouses in the distance, as well the Gatekeeper's hut, isolated and surrounded by a few patches of flowers.
Surprisingly enough, a couple of students seemed to have thought the same thing as Charlotte. The most part were sitting around the lake, throwing a few rocks and giggling. She headed towards the few trees, it seemed calm over there. Holding her bag with both her hands, she walked rapidly towards it, bit was stopped almost immediately.
She took a few steps back, wondering who could possibly be here, right now?
It was a young girl, about her age. A thick fringe framed her face, covering her eyebrows. Her cheeks were quite round and gave her a very friendly and approachable look.My bad! Are you okay?”
'Oh, yeah, it's fine, don't worry !' she said, brushing her robes frantically.
'Looking for a bit of peace and quiet too, huh ?'
Charlotte looked around quickly, noticing they were alone here. How could she have not seen her? No one was around, but she was so deep in her thoughts that she bumped right into her.
She held her hand out to the Gryffindor, a friendly smile on her face, tucking behind her ear.
'I'm Charlotte Cadunt, nice to meet you' she chuckled lightly.

Crazy Coincidences
“Oh, yeah, it’s fine, don’t worry!” The girl who Maggie had ran into said, frantically brushing off her robes. Maggie would’ve glanced down to her own robes in comparison, but she couldn’t, as they were immediately stuffed into her bag as soon as class had ended. If she was wearing them, however, she was sure they’d be much more worn and dirty than the girl’s, as she rarely bothered to clean them. The girl in front of her, however, had clean robes and polished buttons, and she looked very put-together in all. “Looking for a bit of peace and quiet too, huh?” She asked, smiling. She had shoulder-length, dark brown hair and matching brown eyes, and, paired with a Hufflepuff tie and light French accent, Maggie recognized her. Her name was— “I’m Charlotte Cadunt, by the way.” the girl chuckled lightly. True to the stereotype, the girl seemed very friendly, and Maggie took an immediate liking to her. “Maggie, Maggie Parker.” Maggie said, as a way of greeting, “And yeah, I guess you could say that.” She grinned at the girl. Something about her seemed familiar, but she couldn’t put her finger on it... Maggie shrugged the thought off— it was probably just her imagination. Still, she couldn’t help but ask the girl, “Do I know you from somewhere? You seem weirdly familiar...”

Crazy Coincidences
OOC note:
Sorry for the late response!
Charlotte stood there, her eyes fixed into Maggie's, her hand still held up. She opened her mouth a little, hoping to respond to what she had just heard, but the tinniest sound managed to come out.
'Uh…'
She shook her head a little, blinked once or twice, wondering if she had heard the girl correctly. Although she looked very calm, thoughts were buzzing in all directions in her head, unable to clear her mind. Parker? Maggie Parker? No, surely that couldn't be true… Or maybe it simply was another Maggie Parker? Probably not.
'Maggie Parker as in Matthew Cadunt -- Well Matthew Parker's daughter?'
As soon as these words left her mouth, she regretted it, thinking the girl would most likely find her weird. She gulped as she looked at the girl, waiting for her to answer. If it indeed was her, this would mean they'd cousins. Surely her dad would've heard of it, right? Well, not exactly, knowing how little they talked to each other. Her uncle had left the family very early and had changed his name. She didn't know why he had left so suddenly, and to make matters worse, Charlotte's dad never wanted to talk about it.
Wow, now she must think I'm weird… I've just been staring at her for the past minute or so... Charlotte cleared her throat and looked around, trying to focus on something else.

“Maggie Parker as in Matthew Cadunt— well, Matthew Parker’s daughter?” Maggie, grinned, somewhat confused. “Um, yeah actually. I don’t even know my dad’s birth last name though, he took my mom’s.” How did she know that? She’d said Matthew Cadunt, wasn’t that her last name? No, that’d be impossible. The chances of them being cousins was one in a million, the chances that they were at the same school was triple that. “You don’t think... are we cousins?” Maggie grinned at the prospect. While her mum’s side of the family was huge, and by huge she meant 23 cousins, she was eager to find out more about her dad’s side, and to also make a new friend out of it. However, she was somewhat hesitant, as her dad never talked about his family, like ever. She’d always wondered why; she’d have to ask Charlotte about her grandparents. Hell, she’d have to ask Charlotte about everything, about her parents, aka Maggie’s uncle and aunt, and if Charlotte had any siblings, but first, she’d have to owl her dad. “I’ll owl my dad, ask him about it...” Maggie said, trailing off, as she was still somewhat lost in her thoughts. Who knows, maybe they’d end up spending Christmas together! She doubted it, as there was probably some bad blood between the brothers, but there was still a chance. “I’ll talk to you about this later, Charlotte, alright? I just gotta go owl him... bye!”
Maggie Parker has left the thread.

“You don’t think... are we cousins?”
'Well, I think that might just be it... I --'
She had no idea what to say in this very moment, as she had just realised they were cousins. It was only now she realised her cousin she had only heard about was attending Hogwarts too. Would they become best friends, or simply part ways and smile at each other in the corridors. Maggie didn't leave her much of a chance to think about it.
“I’ll talk to you about this later, Charlotte, alright? I just gotta go owl him... bye!”
Apparently she was just as shocked as her and it made Charlotte a little relieved. At least she wasn't the only one to be completely taken aback by this new information. Maggie ran away, impatient to reach the owlery, leaving Charlotte unable to properly say goodbye.
'Uh-- Bye?'
she said as she waved slightly, following Maggie with her eyes as she hurried towards the castle, her hair swinging from side to side, her robes bellowing behind her. Charlotte stood there for a moment before sighing, holding her bag as she looked around. She turned around, heading towards the tree from which Maggie had jumped a few moments ago, plopping her bag on the ground before sitting down, taking a book from her bag.
She started reading but quickly lifted her eyes off the paper, unable to focus on the words she read over and over again.
'God, I should probably send an owl too.'
She got up and dusted her robes before stuffing her book in her bag, running towards the castle.
