The Summer BBQ
Katrina walked away without answer too embarrassed to say anything else and approached a few now third years talking. This was great, finally summertime. She greeted them with smiles and sat down on the grass.
Already a year had passed. She was starting to really enjoy Hogwarts. A few days ago she had been feeling bad about the summer but now, things looked up for her.
“Hi,” she greeted the third years, “My name is Katrina, I am not sure we have met. A beautiful day isn’t it” Bad choice of topic. I can’t believe I just did that. Katrina stifled a giggle.

Meenauh left the cabin and headed towards the crowd in the campgrounds. The summer camp sounded like a nice opportunity to continue practising and studying. She missed her parents a lot, but they told her they still had a business to finish, so Meenauh was allowed to stay at Hogwarts for just a little longer.
Familiar and unfamiliar faces were walking around, picking food, some were already eating. Meenauh, indeed, was quite hungry, especially that she allowed herself to sleep a little longer than usual. Not early waking for getting into another read.
"Good morning, Professor. I'd like to ask you a question about the kinds of food served here. I have no interest in meat, so I was wondering whether there is any other kind of food except burgers," she noticed plenty of vegetables on the tables, but she meant something more fulfilling.

The only food she noticed at the moment were burgers all over the place. She noticed Professor Jensen preparing the food along with another student standing nearby, so probably she was the one to ask. She quietly strolled towards her and asked politely:Interacting with @Hjørdis Jensen

The Summer BBQ
Carefully slicing the onion, she looked up to see a redhead student [KATRINA] had approached her. Hjørdis pondered for a moment before shaking her head at the offer, "I think we've got this." She replied indicating that her and Professor Browne could probably handle it. There was not much to do except grill food and finish cutting up the vegetables. And there was no way she was going to let a student attempt to grill anything or hold a knife. Both of those options could only lead to trouble.
It did not take Hjørdis long to regret being here as she heard 'Norway' being screamed out. A grumpy looking cat and a professor who couldn't even get her name right. 'Nora' was perhaps one of the easier names to say. In fact, it was far easier than 'Hjørdis', which is partly why she had chosen to go by it. And yet, the flying professor had managed to butcher it up. Her left eyebrow twitched slightly, she cut into the onion trying to ignore the ridiculousness of this whole situation. Looking up to glance at the Flying Professor, who she was pleased to see was not half made up again. "Professor Bercegeay," She greeted, though her voice was laced with a certain coldness that had not been there prior, "I don't think it's entirely appropriate to call someone by the country they originated from," Hjørdis scolded her. She knew very well that the professor simply struggled with names - she had managed to get her name wrong plenty of times in the past already. But perhaps highlighting that it was not politically correct to call her 'Norway' might actually help her to remember her actual name.
Hjørdis really wanted to tell her, for perhaps the millionth time, that 'Jensen' would be more appropriate. Somehow she had a feeling that Bercegeay would not understand the concept of students being around and therefore being a bit more professional. Heck, she was not sure if the professor even had a professional side to her. She almost kicked the cat that was annoying her, hovering by her feet. This cat was anything but cute and yet, the flying professor thought otherwise.
She was about to say something when her colleague beat her to it. Quirking an eyebrow, she glanced over at Caradoc as he spoke. Hjørdis almost smirked a little before nodding in agreement and looking back at Bercegeay, "That would be absolutely marvellous of you," She added onto there, implying that they would have nothing but praise for her if she removed the cat from the nearby area - and therefore, by default, herself.
The Head of Slytherin nodded politely in her usual form of greeting to passing students that caught her eye. "Good morning," She returned to young Gryffindor [MEENAUH] that had appeared by her. "There are vegetarian patties for the burgers," She replied, partially wondering if she needed to go on, "If you're not vegan, I'd recommend the halloumi burger. That is what I'm planning to have." Hjørdis paused for a moment before continuing, "If you rather not have a burger, I'm sure Professor Browne could put some extra corn on the cobs or grilled vegetables. I will be whipping up a gluten-free potato salad shortly too, if you prefer." Hjørdis continued, wondering if that would suffice or if they ought to make some more dishes. Perhaps she could whip up a few different salads with the options that they had. If there was one thing she liked, it was cooking an outrageous number of meals. She could totally go overboard and do that... Though perhaps, she ought not to. Shooting a glance at the man near her, "Did I miss off anything?" She asked him, wondering if there was something he was already cooking that she might have missed off that list, which would be suitable for vegetarians or others with specific requirements.

@Dymphna Teague & @Katrina Walker
At the sound of his name, Adam reopened his eyes and smiled at the blonde-haired girl that had joined him on the bench. Dymphna -- he was pretty sure she was fine with just Dymph, actually -- was another housemate of his, and he was glad to have her in Ravenclaw Tower. From their shared classes and some brief interactions in the common room, she seemed super smart and even more friendly. Sliding over on the bench to make room for (although there was probably plenty of room already), he responded happily.
"I love it!" The sun, while just a little bit hotter than he would have liked, really made it feel like summer. He could pick out all sorts of shapes in the big white clouds like he and Rosie had done ages ago -- well, a year ago, but still. The professors really had picked the perfect day. "Winter's always my favorite season, but I might have to rethink that after today."" As Adam finished talking, they were joined by a girl he'd never met before. She was quick to introduce herself, though, and he smiled as she spoke.
"Hey, nice to meet you! I'm Adam. It really is beautiful!" Looking over at the other three professors (and some random cat -- what was up with the cat?), he watched the smoke rise from the grill and started to think about the rest of the summer. "What do you think they have planned for us this year?"

Katrina listened as the boy she had approached- Adam, spoke. She though he was one of the Ravenclaw third years.
“I heard you get to go somewhere called Hogsmede or something like that. ” Katrina responded. “What kind of things do you learn in your second year?”
Katrina was starting to get really excited for this summer. Everyone she had met so far seemed really nice. Katrina gave herself an inner pat on the back for not stumbling over her words. She was certainly getting better at introducing herself, another thing Hogwarts has been able to help her in.
Although she was here for bad reasons, there was no need to worry about that. At least she was around nice and welcoming people.

ahid made sure that Dot would be fine on his own before leaving for the barbeque. He would have brought the little one along, but he didn’t think an outing about food would be the best choice for introducing his cat to larger crowds. Chances were he’d either be scared or begging every student for scraps… No, better to leave the little one in his living quarters.
As it was now officially summer break, he’d figured that a t-shirt paired with jeans and sandals would be appropriate enough clothing for today’s event. Upon his arrival he noticed that quite a few students were already there and at least two of his colleagues were in the middle of preparing the food, so he made his way over, nodding a hello to the students he passed on his way to greet the three with a slight smile “Good day, everyone.”
Looking between the three of them – had Professor Bercegeay brought her pet? Maybe he should have brought Dot after all so that his furball could make a friend..? But no, there was food involved – he turned to Professor Jensen to ask if there was “Any way I can help?”

Meenauh listened to the quite detailed guide for the food table, nodded at several points and decided to go with the professor's advice — halloumi burgers.Interacting with @Hjørdis Jensen
"Thank you for the detailed guide, Professor. I'll try that burger and the potato salad sounds amazing," she thanked the professor, grabbed a burger and moved away from the tables to find some gorgeous spot for the meal.
Eating outside was the best. She loved having meals outside as they usually did it with her parents during summertime, especially by the sea. Which unfinished business they had? So they left the country for three weeks and promised to get me as soon as they come back. She knew she could inquire, but she wasn't sure they would tell her. They were close, let's say, very close and sincere with each other, but if that business of theirs was dangerous, Meenauh was almost unmistakenly right that they would conceal the truth from her. And she wouldn't blame her for that.
The burger was the best thing she ate for a long time. Like, really, no food throughout the whole year could even get close to that. The burgers were very small, though, so she returned to the tables to grab a couple more and peacefully returned to the perfect sunny spot she had found earlier. She saw no familiar faces just yet, so she decided to bathe a bit in the morning sun while finishing her perfect first meal of July.

As Nora would inform the little girl [MEENAUH] on all the different options available today. Doc couldn't help but turn to attention and smile along with the professor's explanation. He gave the Gryffindor a wink as he was mentioned and carefully kept on eye on the meat and other roasts while listening further. What he did not expect in his happy state of mind was that he was supposed to add on that list. When Nora turned to him to ask for what she could have missed. His mouth dropped open.
"I-" He was thinking, trying at the very least. Yet thankfully the little lioness had been quick in her decision and opted for the halloumi. He nodded over at the child and kept up a big smile. "Busted I guess haha." He'd look a bit nervous by now. Perhaps the new sweat was due to something different than the heat from the barbecue. "I'm afraid my knowledge on the different kinds of food is rather limited. I can cook some basics. But I am no five star chef. Though my daughter doesn't complain... that often." He'd chuckle slightly as he turned several pieces over ready to be stacked on a plate next to him.
By now a large plateau would be filled with stacked pieces of meat, vegetables, bread and others. Doc never could help himself. While the bread had been nicely placed in a piramid shape. The burgers were displayed in a spiral. The sausages were crossed in a tower and the vegetables sorted by color. It would seem the man had too much time on his hands yet if you'd keep an eye on him, he knew how to stay busy. He knew it must've been odd for some. He almost couldn't wait for Nora to quirk her eyebrow at him. At which he was now simply stealing glances til she'd notice.

Open for Interactions!
The puffy white clouds looked just like cotton candies. The day was warm. And it smelled like freedom. And grass. It was probably more grass than freedom. But, no matter! Today was really a perfect day for Summer BBQ. Nothing would bring him down. Not even the kids that veered off while shivering in this warm morning when he got closer to them. Sigh
Arc arrived at the Campgrounds with a thin white shirt and shorts. His pale skin was certainly going to get some surprise today! His baseball cap was a little too big for him, but it was a gift from his big brother and he wore it with pride. He walked towards one of the blankets and took of his sandals before sitting down. The smell of burning meat going through the Maillard reaction was awesome, but the caressing wind that enticed him to take a nap was even stronger.
He did not give any meaningful resistance and laid down his body on the blanket. Ah, such a wonderful day! Arc always loved summer even when he never liked physical activities. The dark-haired boy looked at the blue sky for a while before closing his eyes. Arc just knew it. Today was going to be a great day!

River scanned the grounds before her with tired grey and blue eyes. It really was a beautiful day, and she could see the birds flying so gracefully, and the butterflies fluttering around from flower to flower. And then of course... there was bees.Open to Interactions!
A bee came buzzing its way right up to River’s ear, so close it was almost like it wanted a little kiss. Ugh, River ducked down and swatted her hand in a reaction of fear. There were not many things River was really afraid of, but she absolutely never liked bees, and she could possibly say they were one if her fears. Not so bad that she’d run away, but enough to make her leave, if they bothered her too much.
This bee though, only came for a litle whisper, and then took off towards the delicious smell that came from the grill a little bit over.
River let out a sigh of relief.
River thought about how it would be spending the entire summer here at Hogwarts. A part of her felt at home here, even more than she felt at home in Hounslow, but another part of her of course really wanted to see her father again. Even though it didn’t really seem like he wanted to see her. She was curious as to what he’d been doing these past months, and if he was okay. Perhaps she’d attempt sending him one more owl, and see if he has anything to say this time.
The Ravenclaw pulled her red hair out of her face, and laid down on top of her blanket. She wasn’t really hungry, but she’d probably go and get something anyway at some point. Right now though, she just wanted to lay there, looking up at the green leaves of the large tree she’d found some shade beneath, and listened to the sound of people chatting, and the birds singing, hopefully taking her mind off certain thoughts for the time being.
