Dearest Friend

Dialogue: Example Thoughts: Example Others: Example
Juliana's eleventh birthday emerged on a doorstep in a blink of an eye. Alluring clear sky and sunny weather took over Newport while the little girl played in the backyard of the Allen manor. At least she tried to busy herself by chasing butterflies and examinating flowers, but being an only child and not having the opportunity to share her own imagination with other kids her age, there was nothing left to do. The only victim of her blabbering and haughty behavior happened to be the family's gardener.
She grew annoyed and irritated with each second passing by, while Juliana asked trivial questions about Hogwarts and the magical world in general. Terms such as Muggle, Mirror of Erised, Qudditch and many other weren't used at Muggle world at all. They were completely unknown to her and she couldn't get enough of them. It sounded so . . . Unique.
Despite knowing that her parents are Muggle-born, just like her, she also found out from the books that Juliana herself, must have magical ancestors somewhere out there. Her curiosity blossomed and anticipation of finding out more, strengthened. She felt lied to, and that wasn't pleasant. A one can't become a wizard or witch overnight. It seemed strange that Juliana Allen, a Muggle-born girl in Newport, received a letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry out of nowhere. It caused so many questions to cloud Juliana's innocent, yet overflowed mind, stuffed with knowledge.
Rob and Vera Allen, parents of their only daughter, pulled up in a black spacious car in front of the manor while carrying a grey, unknown object along with them. Juliana's senses sharpened when the squeaking noise of car tires got her attention. The object has a cage on it and there is something moving inside. Wait, is that a crate for pets? Juliana didn't waste any other second and hurried down the beautifully arranged path and through flowery gardens of all colours.
"Juliana, honey, come here!" Vera welcomed her daughter warmly, her tone filled with enthusiasm. Rob, alongside his wife, stood with proud smile on his face, holding the crate in his left hand, looking down at his two most important women in his life. Juliana felt two arms imprisonate her in a tight loving embrace. Taking a deep breath, Juliana's nose was attacked by a strong fregrence of her mother's perfume with a base of amber. Deep down, under the layer of strong scents, there were also hints of sandalwood, vanilla and jasmine.
Completely besotted by this nostalgic scent, Juliana's focus fell on the crate that was accompanied by strange noises. Purring and meowing. She couldn't believe her own ears. Is this all a dream? Juliana had always a soft spot for cats of all kinds. Such beautiful creatures - intelligent and loyal. "Happy birthday, Juliana." Rob threw a beaming smile at Juliana, who grinned back, happier than ever. "We know how much you wanted a cat, so consider this as your companion you will take with you to Hogwarts. You earned it, for hard work and responsibility. So don't let us down and care for him as much as you would care for your friend." Rob said calmly, yet there was a mix of respect and stringency in his voice.
Juliana let go off her mother and with immediate action opened the gray crate. She saw him in all his glory. An Egyptian Mau with mesmerizingly blue eyes, reminding Juliana of a crystal clear water. She didn't hesitate and reached for him, gently yet with rush, pulling him out of the crate. Her whole life, something was missing. A friend. True friend that wouldn't hurt her in any kind of way. A person who she could trust with her whole heart. And someone who wouldn't even dare to betray her. And right now, there is her whole life - a furry unbelievably cute ball - resting in her hands.
"Mom, dad! He is so cute! Thank you so much!" Juliana squealed with joy, hugging the cat and gifting it with an enormous amount of love and appreciation. Right after, she put the cat down onto the floor, letting it breathe. "What will you call him?" Vera inquired with a loving gaze in her eyes, glad that she and Rob made their daughter's birthday unfortgettable. Juliana took a moment to consider possible options. However, when seeing the cat jump around the living room like crazy, she couldn't come up with any other name than "Kangaroo. I will call him Kangaroo."

A neverending hunt for school supplies had drained Juliana like crazy. She had been to almost every shop at the Diagon Alley and the exhausting search for items seemed to never end. Unfortunately to her, there was one last stop she must have made, to consider her list complete. Magical Menagerie. A shop that would most likely guarantee fulfillment to all Kangaroo's demanding wishes.
Juliana took cautious steps inside, not knowing what to expect from the magical shop. Although she had certain expectations, the reality of seeing magical creatures of all kinds wasn't exactly the picture she had imagined. It was much better than that. She felt as if she were in heaven. Not having Kangaroo in her embrace, she would have surely chosen a friend from one of the offered by the owner. Just seeing so many animals that were cared for, warmed Juliana's heart and filled it with pleasant excitement and satisfaction.
"Excuse me? Excuse me, I would like to ask if there is a possibility of buying only supplies for my new cat?" Juliana inquired, her voice soft. The owner smiled and nodded, immediately showing all kinds of pet bowls, toys and food to Juliana, who was left amazed. So many options. But how would she know what Kangaroo likes? "You know, most people let their pet choose what they want. Why don't you go ahead and try it?" the owner suggested. Juliana considered it and came to the conclusion, that it didn't appear like a bad idea.
Gently letting Kangaroo free, Juliana watched her new fluffy friend walk around bowls of different colors. His interest in the teal and sand colored bowl went noticed by his owner, which fueled Juliana to buy it. It had an ombre appearance with unusual colors, at least in Juliana's opinion. "I'll take this one. And also this white teddy bear."
"Great choice." the owner smiled and packed everything into a bag in exchange for a handful of galleons. Juliana exited the shop along with joyful Kangaroo, who had the best day of his life.
