Today, Novalie had a mission, and it felt exceptional... honourable.
It was a rare break from the shenanigans that usually consumed her days within the castle. After classes on this rain-soaked Friday afternoon, Novalie found herself in no rush.

The redhead slipped into an empty classroom and anticipated to practice her Metamorphmagus ability here and now!
A skill so tricky, so stubbornly unpredictable in her mind, that she often found herself changing appearance more from emotional outbursts than from any sense of control. But after a few weeks at this school and trying here and there, she now could change her hair- sometimes even her eye color at will, if she concentrated hard enough...
Though, if she was being honest with herself, concentration was perhaps the hardest part.

The hours slipped by unnoticed as she stood in the middle of the room, trying not to get distracted by noises outside or little insects in the corner of the room.
A flicker of color here, a flash of change there. By the time the light had faded into night, she had finally managed to change her hair, eyes, and even the hue of her skin, all at once!
Novalie stared at her reflection in the window, her heart racing, a breathless laugh escaping her lips.
She'd done it!

But that wasn't enough.

A sudden rush of boldness filled the girl. Could she take it further? Could she shift into someone else entirely?
The thought of transforming into a teacher for Halloween made her giddy with anticipation. Imagine the looks on everyone's faces...!
Yet, as she tried to force the changes, her reflection stubbornly refused to comply.
Novalie could change the colors, twist her features slightly, but not enough to mimic someone else. She sighed in frustration, her reflection still irritatingly her own.
Maybe she needed something more.. a target, someone to mimic right in front of her!
But it would take to long to find one of her friends now and looking at how dark it has gotten outside, it was probably also right before curfew. She'd be caught when walking around the corridors now.

Her gaze slid toward the classroom door. A mischievous grin tugged at her lips as an idea struck. Quietly, she crept toward the door, opening it just a crack. The hallway outside was dim, the flickering light from distant torches casting shadows on the walls. Most students had already retreated to their dormitories, as it seemed.

But then she saw him - a boy down the hall, his silhouette framed by the darkened corridor. Her grin widened, excitement bubbling up inside her.
Without thinking of how strange she might appear, she called out in a loud whisper, "Hey! Hey you!"
Her voice had almost an conspiratorial tone as she imitated the sound one might use to summon a stray cat, "Ksksksksks. Come here for a second. I want to show you something."

I am aware that Novalie won't be able to mimic others before her third year. She's trying though :D

As he often did once classes were done for the day, Fearghal was exploring the castle. He had a small notebook and a pen and was even drawing a makeshift map of everywhere he went. It was good to keep track of these things so that the next time he went exploring, he could pick up where he left off. The young Gryffindor was in a particularly good mood today. He loved rainy days. Lots of cloud cover meant that he was free to spend as much time as he wanted outside without the need for a big hat or some other form of shade, and that was always nice. But in the middle of all this lighthearted exploring, there came a voice calling out to him. A voice that made his blood run cold........until he realized it was just another student and not a ghost or an angry professor.

He glanced around and spotted Novalie peeking her head out of the classroom. Fearghal couldn't say he really recognized her. During the sorting ceremony, Fearghal had been focused on himself alone, and even though he and Novalie probably shared some lessons, that time was devoted to learning...and sometimes doodling when he inevitably got bored."I have a name, you know. You don't have to summon me like I'm a dog," he frowned, redirecting his path to go see what was going on.

"What is it that you want to show me?" Fearghal asked as he drew nearer, his Irish accent strong as ever. But then he stopped in his tracks, closed his notebook, and stowed it securely in his pocket. "Wait. This isn't a trick, is it?" He tried to look past her into the classroom, worried that there could be other kids in there waiting to jump him. That was what he assumed actual school was, bullies hiding around every corner looking for any chance to pick on the younger kids.

Novalie’s grin stretched wide as the boy drew closer, her mind already swirling with visions of her soon-to-be transformation victory. But when he stopped just outside the classroom, she instantly recognized him - those blonde, angelic curls and really big eyes were hard to miss, after all.
Well.. and that impossibly pale skin.

What was up with that?
Maybe he never went outside, always tucked away in the library or something. The redhead briefly entertained the idea of dragging him into the sunlight one day. But right now, there were more important matters. Like his name.
They had shared a few classes, sure, but with Novalie’s attention span being what it was, any detail that didn’t directly involve her adventures had slipped her mind. Her brain scrambled for something that seemed vaguely familiar.

Fearha-.. Farh-..Fangha-..

"Fae.", she declared, nodding with self-assuredness.
Close enough to his actual name, right? It had to be. Besides, it sounded like a cute nickname. Surely, he’d appreciate that.

Pleased with her decision, the girl pushed the door open a little wider, just enough to allow him to step inside if he felt curious or brave enough.
Her voice took on a sugary tone as she tried to reassure him, "Don't worry, no tricks."
Of course, it came out far more mischievous than she intended, the kind of tone that would send most people’s internal alarms blaring.

"Anyways!", she chirped, leaning forward a bit, her eyes glinting, "I bet I can make your wildest wish come true."
Novalie kept her gaze fixed on him, practically vibrating with anticipation.
"Haven’t you always dreamed of having a twin brother?"

She grinned, eyebrows raised, waiting for his reaction as if she had just made the offer of a lifetime.

He scrunched up his nose at the word (or name, in this case) Fae. Was there some sort of magical creature in the room behind her? "Fae? Where?" The young Gryffindor inched closer and cautiously peeked around the doorway into the room to get a better look than the cursory glance he'd given before. It seemed all clear...but that could still be part of the trap. Fearghal took a step just inside the classroom, folding his arms across his chest.

"A twin brother??" This was getting more confusing by the second. That had never been a dream of his that he'd been aware of. He already had one little brother who was the most annoying human on the face of the earth. But maybe having another one of himself wouldn't be all that bad. Actually, maybe that would be perfect! Two people to split up homework assignments, to tag team sanitizing and cleaning, to have deep conversations with. A twin would understand everything about him, and that might be an amazing thing after all. Of course, Fearghal was certainly thinking about this more as having a clone of himself than a twin with their own thoughts and feelings. "Do you know how to do that? That sounds like really powerful magic, but having a twin does sound wicked if you think you've got what it takes! ....you do have what it takes, don't you? This won't go wrong or hurt me?" If Fearghal's assessment was correct, then Novalie was a first year like him. And since he was nowhere near the type of magic that could duplicate a person, he was certainly feeling skeptical of the whole thing. But even with the skepticism, this was too good of an opportunity to pass up!

As soon as Fae stepped into the classroom, Novalie quickly shut the door behind him. She spun on her heel and strode toward the center of the room, her excitement practically bubbling over.

"Oh, I meant you!", she declared with a wide grin when he asked where the Fae was, "Sick name, isn't it?"

"Anyway..", without waiting, she twirled dramatically in place as she reached the middle of the room, “I absolutely got what it takes and it won’t affect you at all, promise! Just watch!”

Novalie locked her gaze onto his hair, trying to concentrate. She took a deep breath, focusing all her energy. Slowly but surely, her fiery red locks began to shift, fading into a pastel pink before settling into a golden blonde. Although, as she studied the result, the Ravenclaw couldn’t help but feel like the shade wasn’t quite right.

"Hmm...", she tilted her head, frowning slightly as if that might help the color adjust itself.
She concentrated again, trying to lighten the blonde just a tad. Grabbing a strand of her own hair between her fingers, the girl inspected it closely in the rather dark room.

"That should do it, right?", Novalie asked him, although the dimly lit room made it hard to tell. But, to her, it looked good enough.
She flashed him a huge grin, not waiting for his answer, "Awesome, isn't it? Okay, next up - your skin!"
Novalie waved, gesturing for him to come closer , clearly not concerned with the fact that she hadn't quite nailed the first part.

@Novalie Moon
"Oh, I'm Fae?" Fearghal's nose wrinkled up, unsure if he cared for this new nickname he'd been given. He'd never really had a nickname before. Not any nice ones, at least. And he didn't know if this was meant as a nice nickname, though based on the way she said it, Novalie seemed to actually enjoy it.

The look of distaste written across the young first year's face quickly transformed to one of fear as the girl's hair began to change in color. How had she done that? And she was trying to change other parts of herself to match him as well? "Wait, wait, wait. You're going to be my twin? I don't think that's how twins work. And how did you change your hair like that? We haven't learned any magic nearly that impressive yet!" Fearghal didn't like the idea of anyone being ahead of where he was from an educational standpoint. Could it be possible that someone had arrived at Hogwarts even more prepared than he was? Surely not. "And my skin? How do you plan on matching that?" He held his arms straight out in front of himself, inspecting his deathly pale complexion. For the most part, the Gryffindor was content with the way he looked: how his hair was perfectly curled and how his eyes tinted amber in the right lighting. He even liked his glasses, even if they were almost comically large on his face. But the color of his skin made him look practically deceased when he'd rather be sunkissed and lively-looking.

A bit reluctantly, Fearghal moved slightly closer to Novalie, still not entirely convinced that this wasn't a setup. And with the way she was changing into him....was she trying to steal his life? This could be identity theft, or something even more dastardly.

Well - obviously, this wasn’t how twins worked. In her mind, if it were that simple, Novalie would’ve been his actual sister by now, right? She raised an eyebrow at the thought but quickly replaced it with a bright smile.
"You think that’s impressive?", the girl asked with a little chuckle, watching as the boy reluctantly came closer.
"I’m a Metamorphmagus.", she explained casually, as if that clarified everything, "Still in training, though... which is why you’re here."

Without a second thought, Novalie closed the distance between them, completely ignoring the concept of personal space. She gently but firmly grabbed his arm, her fingers resting on his pale skin with a look of determination.
"I’ll match it just like I matched my hair.", she declared, glancing down at their arms.

At first, nothing happened. Then, ever so slowly, her skin began to pale, lightening in small increments until it started to resemble his ghostly complexion.

"What’s up with your skin, anyway?", she asked bluntly, still staring at their arms, "Do you, like, hate the sun or something? Or are you trying to pull off a vampire vibe?"

There wasn’t a hint of malice in her tone - Novalie just wasn’t exactly known for her conversational grace. Her curiosity always took precedence over things like tact or etiquette.

"That’d be wild, right?", she continued as her skin turned nearly identical to his now, making her look like she’d just stepped out of a gothic novel herself. The Ravenclaw finally looked up at him again, her eyes glinting with excitement, "Being a vampire, I mean. Imagine if they actually existed! I’d totally ask one to bite me, like, immediately. Must be thrilling to experience that!"

Completely oblivious to the fact that vampires did exist - and that something called a Dhampir was standing right in front of her - Novalie let go of his arm, the transformation of her skin complete. It was now just as pale as his and she looked oddly pleased with herself.

"But being a vampire must also suck.", she added, "I mean, imagine not being able to eat garlic! That's the worst."
