"Marketing? That's......interesting." Fearghal thought what his parents did was cooler. "Do you get to travel with your parents when they're gone for work? Or are you stuck at home?" He could just barely recall the days before becoming a dhampir that his parents would be gone for long stretches of time and Fearghal and Tadhg would be left at home with the nanny. Fearghal didn't remember being all that upset over it at the time, but now that he was accustomed to spending so much time traveling the world with his family, he couldn't imagine life being any other way. He envied Tadgh still being at home and being the only kid around to go off on crazy adventures with their parents. Being stuck in one place was...difficult. But at least the young Gryffindor would have time to fully explore the castle and grounds. Most of the time, he barely had the chance to scratch the surface with the places he visited.

He was glad that Marco wasn't offended by him protecting himself from germs. Some people were put off by that sort of thing, but it was a mark of a good person when they understood the boundary and respected it.

"I do like keeping busy, but I prefer keeping busy with things I enjoy. I assume that in a public school, it would've been the same for me as it is here. I like condensing my learning time. Maximum efficiency." Those were the words his father had always used when they discussed any travel plans. Time for learning had to fit in somewhere on the schedule, but no one wanted that to last any longer than necessary. Everything was planned to a t. Maximum Efficiency.

Fearghal decided right was the way to go, so he turned and headed down the right side of the corridor. "Oh, you have a brother? So do I. His name is Tadhg. But he won't be here for a few years still."

Marco shook his head. "I usually stay at home with the rest of my family. They think it's easier like that." He offered. And it was, truly. His parents talked to very important people, and they didn't need two eleven-year-old boys as... What, bodyguards? There was no need for them to join their parents. They wouldn't help or anything. He preferred staying home, he found all of that intimidating. Far too much for a child like him. Maybe with more practice... He couldn't be trusted with diplomacy yet.

"I don't know many things muggle schools did, I spent a lot of time with my tutor for schooling." He answered, moving some hair out of his eyes. "But condensing your learning time isn't always wise, it can be a lot of information mixed in at once, and you don't retain as much. But everyone studies differently." He offered, not wanting to sound like he was judging Fearghal. He just found that method of studying was entirely healthy on the mind. More importantly, it wasn't productive. He was a pro at studying, of course. He was at the peak of academics, at least in his own belief.

"My brother's name is Salvino." And that's all he really said on the matter, he didn't have much else to say about his brother.

"But don't your parents know what could happen when you're left at home? There are all sorts of horrible things out there! It's always best to be near your parents, at home or otherwise. Thank goodness we have so many powerful wizards at Hogwarts. It just manages to feel safe here." Even nannies and tutors couldn't be trusted in Fearghal's mind, given what he had gone through as a child. No blame could possibly be placed on naughty children who refused to obey the rules.

Fearghal raised his eyebrows and adjusted his glasses on his nose. "So you had a private tutor as well. I'd say we're both a head above the rest, then. Metaphorically, at least," Fearghal chuckled, considering how short he was even in comparison to the other first years. "Condensing learning actually works very well for me! I find that if I learn it all at once, then for the rest of the day, it's sort of...rolling around in the back of my head. But different things work for different people," he shrugged.

"I don't miss my brother as much as I thought I would. We argue a lot. But really, I'm more jealous than anything. He gets to keep traveling everywhere he wants to go, but I'll be at Hogwarts the entire time. At least there's a lot to explore. I intend on being familiar with every corner, classroom, and crevice this place has by the end of term." He gave a confident nod as they came upon another staircase. Perhaps this one led to the Astronomy Tower! He took out his notebook and made a quick note of the path they were taking before beginning to ascend the new set of steps.

At Fearghal's comment, Marco almost laughed. He knew they had just met, there was no way Fearghal had any way of knowing what had occured in his houselife. Instead, he just smiled lightly. It was funny, the worst had happened to Marco while his parents weren't too far. He had just wandered off, like a foolish child. After that, being alone didn't particularly scare him. Terrible things could happen, even when he was with his family. Certain situations had proved this. "Maybe, but we have people at home too. My parents got to know our sitters and tutors well." He offered, shrugging.

"I guess so. I've been told that tutors teach things at a bit of a faster rate then teachers in school. Likely because they have to accommodate the multiple children in the classroom. With my tutor, it was just my brother and I." He explained, though he knew that it was likely that Fearghal knew that. Marco did claim to be quite smart, but he knew the lessons from his tutor certainly helped in how quickly he learned new and advanced material. It was a privilege, perhaps. Marco lived a very lucky life. Aside from the werewolf thing. But his family was rich! Woohoo!

Marco didn't seem incredibly thrilled about talking about his brother. They were brothers, and he didn't think there was much else to say. They were very different. Despite being twins, Marco didn't really feel like he understood him. But he was still family, of course. "I'm still learning where things are, I enjoy that the castle is endless, in a way."

"Nannies and tutors are good for convenience and learning, but I wouldn't dare trust them otherwise if I were you. Most of them are only in it for the money and couldn't care less about the people they're charged to take care of." Fearghal spoke this as if it was obvious fact, though it would've been clear to anyone with a little more life experience that he was just parroting back things he'd heard his parents say over the years.

The young Gryffindor nodded along as Marco spoke, giving plenty of visual feedback to confirm he was paying attention to everything that the other boy had to say. Listening was a very important skill and a necessary tool in the world of networking. "It's true, they can accomplish so much more when they have less students to focus on. Plus, when there are only a couple of you, they know what helps you learn best, so you can move through more material!"

"I like how endless the castle feels right now, but I do look forward to uncovering all of its mysteries as well. I bet only a few people ever really take the time to explore every inch of the grounds by the time they graduate Hogwarts. And I'm going to be one of them. As the stairs opened up, they seemed to have climbed quite a ways, and they were certainly in a tower. But was it the right one? Who's to say. "I think we may have reached our destination."
