─────On a warm day such as this, it is rather odd to see a student in the library, a stuffy place that smells of dust and paper. Despite this, the huge stacks of books teetering dangerously high atop one of the sleek oak tables indicated that someone had chosen not to join most of the other students in the outdoor merriment that is common on warm and sunny days such as this.
While her peers celebrated the blessing of warm weather in a place as cloudy and cold as this, Elodie sat alone at the desk, the air silent save for the occasional rustle of turning pages. She had been struggling with the most recent of the Charms homework, and as she often did when she struggled with schoolwork, she had retreated to the library, often studying much more than necessary to compensate.
After all, she was already behind her wizard-born peers when it came to spellcasting. No need to make it worse.
The girl sighed, running a hand through her thick brown hair as the words on the pages of 'Charms for Chumps' - a rather rude name, she had noted - began to blur together. Elodie could feel pressure building up in her temple, the beginnings of the migraine she was sure to get.
She closed her eyes and leaned back in her chair, rubbing the bridge of her nose and sighing wearily. She'd been here for hours, and the exhaustion she felt was beginning to bother her. This was not how she had intended to spend her free day. She was supposed to relax, to write to her mother and catch up on the sleep she had missed out on whilst doing her best to stay on top to her work.
Minnow, who had previously been snoozing atop one of the lower stacks of books, awoke at the sound of her owner's sigh, chirping inquisitively and blinking at Elodie. The cat was clearly annoyed at the early awakening and showed her frustration by meowing accusingly.

Ryann was looking for a favorite book.. she wandered for a few moments and paused at a shelf found a ladder, and she climbed up.. slowly trying to not fall
"where is it.....? I saw it yesterday on this shelf, why can’t I find it hmmm... she looked around for it for a few moments looking. it was a new school, so being lost in the library was quite common for her, she climbed a little higher and rummaged through the shelf.. moving the ladder slightly every so often.
"ah ha!" she finally found the book yay!, she climbed down the ladder and walked to check out the book striking up a conversation with the librarian for a few minutes while it was being checked out, then she took the book back then walked over to a big table, where a brown-haired girl was sitting and sat down across putting her bag on the chair, then she opened the book, her emerald-green fixing on the page. as she reads she also, fiddles with her blonde hair while doing it, with a light hum, something gleamed slightly in her bag just then it was unclear what it was though jewelry…? A watch….?
(ooc message: the golden like gleam is her trumpet that her siblings gave her, there’s a bit of window light shining on it so that’s why there’s a gleam)

─────Elodie blinked at this newcomer, peeking over her book to observe the person who had disturbed her silent struggle. She had never seen this girl, and was fairly sure that she wasn't a second year.
It had always been a bad habit for Elodie, staring at people. She looked at them the same way she looked at a puzzle she couldn't piece together, and it was often unnerving to the objects of her fascination. It was something she was aware of, but couldn't help. After all, she had always been taught that if you don't understand something, you study it until you do.
She bit her lip, glancing back down at her book every so often, though she found that she couldn't bring herself to care when there was this new puzzle sitting across from her.
Minnow, perhaps sensing her master's intrigue, meowed inquisitively and slinked down the book stack she had been perched on, sitting on the table and staring at Ryann with wide, unblinking eyes.
Elodie let out a heaving sigh as she put down the book, giving up on her futile attempts at studying. She rubbed her temple, doing her best to ward off her headache while still sneaking peeks at the girl across from her. Her glasses slid down her nose, and she reached to adjust them.
This shift seemed to snap Elodie out of her silent staring, causing her to look down at her lap self-consciously. Did the girl think she was weird? WAS she weird?
Elodie groaned, leaning forwards and resting her forehead on the tabletop, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment. She hadn't meant to stare! She'd just been surprised. After all, she'd never seen anyone else choose to stay in the library on such a nice day.

"are you alright?" she smiled a little at the girl and the animal as she played with her sleeve, her small ponytail now undone the rubber band falling out as she looked up from her book, her green eyes fixing on the girl, her smile was soft as she took out a kind of big clear but pink water bottle from her bag and took a sip, the ice cubes where still fairly big and looks like they were just put in even on the hot day. Almost filled to the brim with water. When she finished she looked back at the girl,
“sorry if I interrupted I didn’t mean to, I just wanted to sit and read, it’s too hot for me today and I prefer reading inside then the hot outdoors it is nice and warm outside, but I prefer the indoors. Much cooler and I have an excuse for checking out the book I have been wanting to read so badly science I noticed they had it. Sorry I didn’t mean to speak so much….” She was a little nervous about how much she spoke in the last few seconds but was glad she might have made a new friend.
