First Year Graduation Party

The celebration was getting on well enough, at least nothing had been destroyed and no one had been attacked- yet. Tatiana had heard a few rumors about how the second year party turned out and hoped theirs wasn't headed in a similar direction. Sipping her drink, she looked around at the partygoers mingling and the outfits they were wearing. Most seemed dressed well enough for a party, even if they weren't exactly themed. But in the middle of the room, standing out from the rest, was her flying professor in a bright and sparkling pink and red ensemble. Dazzling as she looked, Tatiana was surprised she hadn't noticed her immediately upon arriving. The disco ball interacted with her sequins and sparkles in such a way that the lights were now dancing off of her as well. She was suddenly feeling a bit underdressed. Not having bothered an attempt to learn the theme, her outfit seemed rather understated for a disco party.
Just as Tatiana looked up from her cup, she noticed the Slytherin Head of House making her way over to her from the food table. She had hardly been paying attention, trying not to be caught over eagerly staring at the doorway, and hadn't noticed her come in. She too had dressed up for the theme, but in a much more subtle way. She wore a dark blouse that contrasted nicely with her shimmering pants and her hair was done up in a decorative braided style. "Have you tried anything you could recommend?" she asked, drink now in hand.
"Uh, I've only had this-" Tatiana started, only now aware that she wasn't even entirely sure what made up the contents of her choice in refreshments. Holding her cup up to the light, she could see it was colored, but couldn't distinguish any other identifying characteristics. "Punch?" she half stated, honestly more of a question. "Tastes normal enough, I suppose. But no," she shook her head, placing her almost empty cup on the table, now mildly suspicious of it. "I haven't actually eaten anything yet, but I've seen several other students grabbing from the cupcake tray, so those should be safe." She wasn't an expert at small talk, but she was grateful for her conversation regardless. She'd come to try and socialize, after all, and being a wallflower was probably not the best strategy.

Thea looked at people coming through the doors - both professors and fellow first years and she felt sort of underdressed when the flying professor came through with a very extravagant outfit and suddenly what she wore didn't exactly feel fit.
She slightly jumped up when she heard someone right next to her - a fellow first year girl, a Gryffindor she hasn't seen before, but she hasn't actually seen anyone there. The girl complemented Thea on her outfit. "Thanks a lot," she replied quietly and shifted her weight from one leg to her uncomfortably. She appreciated the compliment, truly, but it was still wakward to have a total stranger talking to her. To have anyone talking to her, to be frank.
She stepped forward along with the girl, making sure not to step on any of the tiles, but the light from the other girl's dance floor tile blinded her as well and she covered her eyes rapidly until she heard the other girl talk again. "Yeah, it is." she sighed and gave the girl a small smile, trying to ease the tension that she felt, especially with the previous disturbing feeling that something in the hall wasn't quite right.
"So, what's your name?" she said so quietly it could almost be taken as a whisper, stuffing her hands in her pockets and rocking back and forth on her legs nervously. She bit her lower lip and naturally started to overthink everything she was doing.

@Thea Knott, no worries hehe
The girl spoke quietly so Ziba leaned in a little to hear her better. She also seemed uncomfortable and Ziba immediately felt guilty. Her presence was making the other girl uneasy and she wanted to fix it. They were at a party after all!
When the light blinded her as well, Ziba decided she'd had enough of the tiles. The girl asked her something, and she was thankful she was at least trying to make conversation, but the frog choir was reaching near inhumane decibels so she still couldn't hear what was said. "Sorry, what did you say?" she asked before quickly looking around. There, a table with refreshments that was far enough away from the amphibian yodeling.
"Do you wanna try the drinks with me?" she asked, hoping the girl would join her. "I heard they're serving Tongue Tying Lemon Squash and I've always wanted to know what that tastes like." Lemon squash seemed like a rare combination for a drink, not to mention the name "Tongue Tying" was enough to put someone off of trying to consume such a thing. That alone was enough to entice the young Gryffindor into grabbing a cup and seeing for herself what would happen.

Raine turned her head slightly to the side to give the Slytherin Prefect a smile for the compliment. She would be sure to inform her mum about how good her choices were for this outfit. Honestly, either outfit would have worked but there was just something about the American Hippie style that seemed to fit Raine so well.Interacting with @Arc Perscivious and @Nico Shymane
"Thank you. My mother had owled me the clothes once I told her about the graduation party." Raine looked around at the crowd that was gathered on the other side of the room before looking at Nico again. "Why does it seem like everyone is avoiding you like the plague? I know why they're avoiding Arc, which in itself is quite ridiculous in my opinion, but you seem rather normal yourself. Apart from the paleness in your skin."
Raine looked back at her friend and smirked. "If you don't lick or wipe that chocolate from your nose I'm going to lick it off. It would be kind of inappropriate in this setting since we're only twelve, but it's not like I've never nommed on your face before at a party," the girl tapped her chin in thought. "I think it was your tenth birthday party to be exact."
Taking another bite from her cupcake, Raine closed her eyes at the sound of the disco croaking and the soothing feeling that the room was providing her with. Now all she needed was to get her friend on the dancefloor and show her moves off.

"You ok there?"The Gryffindor asked as the coughs overtook whatever the girl was going to say but it seemed to pass as quickly as it had come. It had been a while since she had seen the Slytherin but it was hard to forget a helpful face like hers. The fact that she had willingly stayed out that night to help someone like her that was none of her business spoke volumes about her character. Several more people were filtering, some professors among them who also seemed to take no shame in dressing up themselves. She couldn't blame them though, having to deal with their lot every day, they too deserved to have some fun every now and then. "Yeah, some people tend to be..weird if you can call it that."She added referring to Luna's comment about the individuals who had just peeked in and just left. If you weren't planning on attending the celebration then why bother to come to anyways? The logic made no sense to her but to each their own."How have you been? You left in quite the hurry if I recall correctly last time. Hope I wasn't making you late for something."
A smile littered her features as she talked. The first year here hadn't been so bad, she had settled into her zone and found a bunch of people to call friends, most of them Slytherin funny as it sounded. He parents were Slytherin graduates and she didn't think too highly of them for obvious reasons. 'Want to try some of the delicacies? Some of the stuff looks quite enticing if you ask me."She asked nodding towards the cups and whatnot. Last time she had tried something peculiar looking was at the Blossom Ball and as far as she heard, that entire thing had went up in flames..literally. Somehow, she wouldn't be too surprised if something of similar nature happened here.

OPEN TO INTERACTIONSMin-seo was late. Very late. She didn't care this time though, there had to be a lot of people so that they wouldn't notice her. She had a romper on with her hair up in a bun and her trademark black converse. Why did she decide to come? She probably was going to be alone the whole time. She felt her hands go clammy as she walked inside the room. Why why why why why. She felt so uncomfortable in these situations. She opened the door to see students chatting and she froze. She shouldn't have come. She closed her eyes and took a few deep breaths. It's going to be okay. She squinted her eyes shut so she didn't vomit from nervousness. She walked past people until she found a corner of the room to make herself at home, not before drinking water. She was a mess. How come she always went to these events even when she hated them? She sighed and scanned the room to look for people she knew. She knew a few, but they were all deep in conversation with other people. She leaned against the wall and tried t make herself less noticeable.

@Illowy Magnard
No matter what Illowy had said, Koko would still pull out her wand. "I'm still gonna do it," the child hissed between gritted teeth. But then she paused. M-make it more... personal?" Her golden eyes glinted with something that could be defined as malice. "That would certainly be interesting. I suppose... I suppose I don't want detention..." No, she didn't, which was why she slipped her wand away, back into her boot. Combat boots went with everything, even dresses, so Koko was perfectly fine with it. "This isn't much of a disco party. It needs roller skates," the young girl mused to herself.
Koko glanced around the group once more, noting that the majority of them were Slytherins. Lucky Hogwarts, to have so many ambitious and clever individuals who were sure to go on to do something great, perhaps even greater than anything that had ever been done before. Koko herself wanted to be a professional Quidditch player, but she doubted she would ever be able to do that. Maybe one day... She could travel the world with so many careers, so maybe a Quidditch player was a good idea...
Koko stopped pondering, sighing as she looked back at Illowy. "We should make this club public," she thought aloud.

Interacting with @Nico Shymane & @Raine Sage
The interesting blue-eyed girl softly smiled as Arc mentioned that one hell of a disastrous ball. Huh. What was that all about? Were they really remembering the same thing? Her night must have gone much better than his. That night still gave Arc the chills, especially after what happened in the Keeper of Keys and Grounds’ Cabin. But that was a story for another time.
As she talked and scratched the back of her head, the boy noticed a certain someone coming through the door, his best friend, Raine Sage. But he was in the middle of a conversation and Sage had this uncanny ability to find him. So, he should probably just focus on the girl in front of him.
Nico.
Her name was Nico Shymane. That was a pretty cool name. “Ah, well, Nico,” said Arc as they shook hands, “I might call you ‘Airhead’. But would you prefer that?” The Ravenclaw kid chuckled a little “I’d settle for Nico, I think, that sounds better.”
Just as he finished talking, as if on cue, the girl with the blinding flare jeans popped up next to the two of them.
As always, Raine was beaming with energy just like the TURD Ball and Arc was happy with the compliment. He was not one to really care about opinions of others, but deep down he was afraid that people would find the party inadequate or lacking somewhat. Being the ball of joy that she was, Raine immediately introduced himself to Nico."Hey Arc! Awesome work setting this all up. You're a right event organizer."
“Ah, well, first of all, thank you. I don’t deserve that much praise, really.” Arc said with a wide smile he couldn’t stop from forming on his face. “It was a team effort. And mostly the House Elves. They are amazing. I wish I can do wandless, chantless magic like them. It would have been super useful.”'I-I had no idea you fixed this.. All this. That's impressive. Well done, Arc.'
People kept pouring in. There are a few familiar faces. Arc even noticed two professors joining in. It felt good to have a capable adult wizard as chaperone. If anything were to happen, they could certainly handle it much better than him. Not that they boy wanted to jinx it. But only thinking it shouldn't be…
Raine suddenly tapped his nose with chocolate frosting which pulled him from his musing. Silly, Sage. That was so typical of her. The boy was about to wipe his nose when he saw something. Two boys were trying to catch one of the revolving small disco balls for whatever reason. Wait. Oh no.
“Ha! Yes. Well, excuse me, girls,” said Arc urgently while wiping his nose. He jogged towards the boy and tried saying, “Hey! I don’t think you should…”"If you don't lick or wipe that chocolate from your nose I'm going to lick it off. It would be kind of inappropriate in this setting since we're only twelve, but it's not like I've never nommed on your face before at a party, I think it was your tenth birthday party to be exact."
But it was too late. One of the boys had climbed up a table and jumped from said table to catch one of the disco balls. Some more trivias about those balls. They somewhat had intelligence. And they were connected to each other. Just like a hive-mind. That was how they could mimic the constellation and how they didn’t bump into each other.
Oh, one more thing, they really liked to be free.
So, when the boy caught one of the balls, it reacted badly. They reacted badly. At first, they only flickered quicker and brighter. But then, they started going out of orbit. They thrashed around here and there and bumped into everything. The one in the boy’s hand gyrate very quickly before electrocuting him. As it flew away from him, it didn’t seem to calm down.
It was looking for its next target.
Uh-oh! The flying disco balls had gone rogue! It was up to everyone of you in the Graduation Party to stop them. I'm going to semi-mod how the balls reacted to what you guys do. May the force be ever in your favor. Godspeed.

It was rude not to accept an invitation, one of the many pillars that had been instilled in her from a young age. As such, Angellica had set time aside to get ready for the festivities planned for first years. She had carefully worked her hair into a straighter version of itself, dawned a little bit of mascara and the slightest bit of eyeliner as her mother had taught her before school. The woman had chosen a dress for her long before she had even made the decision to go, and as such she dawned the soft white cloth that covered her chest and fell to her knees. It was comfortable, and it looked good, especially with a few adornments. Her nails were painted a dark shade of blue they were nearly black, and when she finally felt ready, she made her way, in a manner she would have called fashionably late to her mother’s scowl. The black belt around her waist to accent curves she didn’t have hadn’t been designed to hold a wand, but she ensured it did. If there was something the blonde had learned in her year at Hogwarts, it was not to skip out on having her wand.
Small heels clicked against the stone floor as she made her way through the castle. When she got to the festivities she hadn’t been sure what to expect but this wasn’t it. When she had left the great hall the night before to help Arc set everything up, and then earlier during the day, it had been perfect. The most gorgeous balls of mirrors reflecting lights in a manner she had never known before. The boy had had a vision, and she had been all for helping it come to life, and well Arc was absolutely terrifying so when he asked for help, she had nearly held back but her need as a perfectionist had placed her name in the proverbial hat. She still wasn’t quite used to being close to the boy, but she had learned to fight that desire to flee, much like she fought the urge to dodge a bludger to hit another player with it. In that moment, she regretted not bringing Bettie the Bat with her, the name she had given her Beater’s bat as the balls went absolutely out of control.
Dodging one as she got into the room, she looked around in hopes to find Arc. She noted a few familiar faces, but there was no time to greet Luna, or any of the professors she saw, or rather the two she had noticed in the commotion. Instead she reached for her wand, grateful to have ignored her mother’s suggestions that it was unladylike. No this was exactly what she needed in that moment and as a ball came flying towards her face at a high speed she whipped out the length of Chestnut wood at her hip and pointed it forward, with a small V and a squiggly line she spoke the first spell to come to mind in such a situation.
“Flipendo,” she stated clearly, causing the ball to fall back and reassess it’s situation. Taking the moment of respite she made her way towards Arc. Somehow dodging rogue glass balls was less scary that knowing it was towards him.
“I’d ask what I’d miss but I don’t think I want to know,” she said to him, averting her gaze not to actually have to look into his eyes, a light breathlessness to her voice as she stood near him. If the rapid dash towards him hadn’t been enough to make her heart race, his mere presence made the balls a bit more welcome. “What do we do?” she asked. After all, there would be time to discuss how and why later.

Illowy watched as Koko slipped her wand back into her boot. Certainly her mother would be nothing less then impressed if Illowy had ever tried to keep her wand in such a way. It seemed impractical and unsophisticated; something the Ravenclaw alumni would never have from her own child. No, instead the woman had spent the entire previous summer teaching Illowy to sew specially designed pockets into her skirts, dresses, and any lined sweater or jacket she owned. Quite a tedious and boring task, but she wouldn't dare question her mother. For anything that she couldn't sew pockets into, her mother had also made the investment for her daughter to have a holster that could attach to her belts; much more practical in Illowy's opinion.Interactions: @Koko Riddle
"Yes, personal. Think of it. It isn't exactly a secret that she doesn't like Slytherins, and she's already drawn her wand and attempted to attack you." the girl spoke in almost an eerie, low calmness as she thought aloud, eyes casually glancing around the dancefloor as though they were talking about something as simple as summer plans, "Whose to say she wouldn't actually attack a couple of Slytherins in a manic episode. She spends most of her time alone anyway, its not like she could come up with a proper alibi."
Cold eyes flickered back to Koko who seemed lost in her own thoughts. The snake wondered if the other had even heard her at all for a moment, "At the rate she's going, the whole school will be against her before long." she commented.
Something glinted, suddenly catching her eye as she turned her head to see the disco balls suddenly quiver before seeming to loose control entirely. One party. Just one blasted party where things could just be normal! Even for a wizarding school. The child stood up from leaning against the wall, shoving a hand in her pocket to retrieve her wand as she looked around the room to the prefects and Professor. Hopefully this time around they would actually be of help instead of leaving it to a bunch of first years to falter about and try to figure out.

I was told I was dangerous. When I asked why, they said, "Because you don't need anyone." That's when I smiled.
