Magic, no matter how powerful, always seemed to somehow find itself inevitably forced to come to an end. In the case of the binding curse the arcane power that it used was only so strong when compared to the relative strength of the one it was intending to bind. Romeo, a boy who had been unusually strong for his age for most of his life, was one who could find it in him to easily not only break the bonds of the petrification but begin to get to his feet. Perhaps in part due to an impaired mind, perhaps in part due to the primal need to escape from a position of vulnerability in the form of being restrained, but the boy would--aside from mentally--begin to find himself prepared to act again. On one knee, slowly starting to try to stand, the curse's fragments would hinder his movements for a while longer, but the giant of a teenager was--at least temporarily--unrestrained. -3 Evasion for 1 Round
Valentin, on the other hand, was not graced with the strength that Romeo possessed. In fact, he had found himself victim to a particularly nasty bind that had been discovered in recent months by duelists--a spell combination that forced one into a 'softlock' of sorts where one kept taking damage even as they were pinned down. A cruel combination of Fulgari and Petrificus Totalus forced the thinner and less muscular albino to struggle on the ground, and as he tried to break out against either, he would only find himself crushed further and further by the constricting binds. Paralyzed for 1 Round, Suffers 60 damage
Johannes elected a more direct route--to take out the beast that he could see before attempting to aid those that could simply find themselves injured once again. With a casting of a Homing Spell, a brilliant orb of burning golden light began to circle about Slugatin, threatening to singe and burn should the creature dare to move. However, the creature had much more important things to do, and as it thrashed and hissed it would indeed come in contact with the blazing ball. The viscous vicious vermicular vermin's flesh began to sizzle and hiss with the contact of light on it, and an earsplitting shriek filled the air--inhuman and bloodcurdling. No Effects...?
Poor, poor Astrid was the source of much of the ire so far... and she would continue to be the target of continued subsequent attacks. As the fiery ball singed goopy flesh, Slugatin tightened its grip more securely on Astrid--its coils would no longer simply take her by the legs, but begin to advance about her midriff. Her one hand was free, but only barely--it would be only through a sheer luck or whim of fate that any sort of resistance would come from her at all. Astrid is Restrained--she cannot move or take actions
Scarred Mikhael would act as a hunter would--recognizing the disease that seemed to be apparent in the largest bear of the group. Like a frothing creature that could lash out and deal great harm in relatively little time, Romeo was a threat. What else could be done to such a creature than to burn it down? Evidently that thought was taken to the extreme as Incendio Duo was flung across the fray towards the partly crippled Romeo just recovering from the effects of the petrifying spell. His aim was true, his intent was unwavering--but something about moon pale Valentin must have distracted his eye just enough to alter his angle by just a hair. Instead of striking Romeo at the center of his mass, the gout of fire screamed at the edge of his shoulder, burning up the quidditch uniform there and incurring burns of the second degree most easily indeed. The Italian bear would be lit aflame, but not as well as if the aim had been online. Romeo suffers 98 damage & has 1 Round of 30 burn damage unless countered
Though out of the way of the immediate fray, Greta wasn't done securing the area. Knowing that her binding spell could only last so long against Romeo, she had elected another countermeasure to ensure that none of his brutish physical strength could be made good on for very long. Staggered by Mikhael's fire, she saw her opening for another spell that would quickly sequester the giant inside a golden spell-and-fist-repelling Orbis of abjuration magic. He could try as hard as he'd like to bash against it... but no physical powers would allow him to break the spell. His powers... or the Creature's, for that matter. Perhaps now she would be able to recieve more care from Felix, who still faithfully hovered by her side. Romeo is trapped in Orbis for 4 Rounds unless countered
Even as the scent of burning slug flesh filled the air--indeed, the incense of roasting marshmallows may indeed serve as a traumatizing scent for the girl for now on--Astrid attempted to cast the revulsion spell on it. Something, however, went terribly wrong. Incantation pronunciation, wand movement being jostled by the great creature, or simply a distraction of intent--but the wand of the Norsewoman would be flung from her fingers and clatter to the ground a few meters away from the fray in the diagonal direction near the orbed Romeo. Not that the spell likely would have done much... the ugly brute of a creature was terribly strong compared to her--unearthly strong. Dark magic strong, perhaps... And finally even her wand arm was pinned to her body, pressed between two coils of vile, black, muscular slug skin. Astrid is disarmed
Hans would do his best to redeem himself, executing a lesser fire spell and launching it for Romeo... but Greta's powerful arcane powers would be a boon and a curse for this end, as Hans' ability to weave spells paled in comparison to the Valkyrie's own. His spell would ricochet off of the golden orb and bounce off into the skies, a golden beacon that would likely be misconstrued for an errant firework for a celebration of some sort. No Effects
The slug of Romeo, Sheroze, screeched at the golden barrier, slamming itself once against the shimmering light and rattling out an infuriated growl as the only result was that thick black ooze dripped down the side of the energy. Rippling, the orb had taken the kinetic energy of the physical blow and had redirected it resonantly throughout the entire shield, leaving no mark or trace of any discernable success. It was trapped as its host was for the time being, and somehow it would seem that it realized it. With a sickening series of undulations, the black creature seemed to reverse its course--returning back to the safety of dark insides as opposed to willingly allowing itself to be exposed to a dangerous and bright exterior. As the last bit of it was 'reconsumed' by the Durmstrang beater, the teen would violently cough and spit black sludge on the ground. Breathing shakily and shivering as he retched for a few seconds without conclusion, Romeo would lift his head with visible stunned confusion in his eyes. Lips stained with black substance, it took all of a second for him to realize that he was on fire. Sheroze re-enters Romeo
Unwilling to not have revenge on Valentin--well, the slug anyhow--for what had been done to dearest Greta, a Slugulus Eructo would strike the bound and helpless captain. Even despite paralysis and restriction of his viscera, Valentin would feel nausea overtake him as his core convulsed just enough to allow two inky black slugs to free themselves from his lips. They were the same substance as the great 'queen' that had spawned them even if they were a good deal smaller. As they were forcibly ejected into the light... they began to rear. And hiss. However, Valentin didn't seem to be done vomiting up slugs just yet. Felya's spell had been quite potent, after all. -3 Strength, -2 ArcPower, loses 50hp per round for 1 Round

I was on my hands and knees, looking at earth splattered with black substance I couldn't even begin to guess the nature of. My eyes were burning just as much as my throat and shoulder were... was I on fire...?
I was on fire?!
A glowing golden light was cast all around me, and I slowly raised my head to behold what was before me. The last thing I had remembered was Astrid next to me, a feeling of intense hunger, and then...
Gold tint painted the world beyond the barrier, as I saw Valentin on the ground and chaos around him--a great creature had Astrid in its clutches, Felix and Greta were taking shelter on the side, the phantom Mikhael and insomniac Johannes were distancing with wands pointed at myself and the creature respectively, and Hans was in the thick of it pointing a spell at me--fire which reflected off the barrier and bounced into the nowhere.
With a surge of instinct, I slammed my shoulder against the golden wall, which caused the bubble to shiver but not shatter. Panic was rising along with acidic bile in my throat. The other side of the bubble I crashed into--only to experience a similar resistance as the barrier wavered but did not die. Head spinning and aching as if a pike had been put through my temple, I didn't care much about the fact that fire was burning up my uniform and scorching my flesh. I was trapped. I was trapped and people were being hurt on the other side.
But why was I trapped? What had led to this moment? What had happened in the moments between feeling my mind slip and my mind return? I banged on the barrier again with a fully knuckled fist, splitting my hand on it but somehow not feeling the signal that should have told me to stop there."VALYA!" Another weaker blow. "ASTRID?! JOHANNES!" Black substance mingled with my blood began to slither down the immaculate golden interior. "Get me out of here!" Came a raspy, desperate demand after which I coughed a few times, spitting something like black phlegm onto the ground again before trying to wrangle my thoughts again and figure out what my situation was and how I could negotiate it. Forget the panic, forget the moment. What was this moment? What was the situation and how could I manage it to the best end possible? "Get.. me..."
People were getting hurt... but...
Perhaps the best option was to take it slow for the time being. Manage my own symptoms first. Wait to watch things unfold more... hope that my team could manage themselves. With my current state, shaking legs and trapped nature--there had to be a reason for it, surely--I was in no condition to fight.
Blackthorn in my bloodied hand, I cast a simple spell--as simple as I hoped I could manage. "Extinguo!"

As spell after spell wrestled control away from Valentin, the seeker’s grip on reality melted away. In double lockdown between Fulgari and Petrificus Totalus, Val couldn’t move, let alone resist the dark mass pushing itself back up his throat in order to make an attempt to pull Astrid down. With his airway once again blocked and painfully crushed from his overfull esophagus, Valentin's senses filled with a macabre nightmare of viscous sensations and torment. Black ooze dripped from his face as it lay dragged about at an awkward angle through the muddy snow, slave to the muscular slug jutting from his jaw.
Others in the party were not keen on Astrid becoming the parasite’s next victim, however, and the double-bound seeker lay powerless while shot by Kolbeck’s Slugulus Eructo. The spell’s power heaved from the depths of the seeker’s stomach with force that no human could have willed by themselves. With tar-black flesh blobs writhing as they ejected and plopped onto the ground, Valentin’s body evacuated his stomach of the metallic slime babies. The first of these to emerge entirely was the 4-foot mass that had been in the process of ruining Astrid’s dress, followed by a smaller one, and then by a handful of garden-slug-sized and tiny leech-sized buggers that squirmed terrified as they shrank away from the sunlight, premature in their life cycle. Attempting to burrow into the snow to escape, these smallest of slick blubbers clearly did not have fighting in mind today. The largest one, however, was still wrapped around Astrid and very much still had her on its mind. It would attempt to crawl up towards her face while wrapping around her neck with choking power. The smaller of the pair had only just now been born, and with as its impressionable mind opened up to imprint on the first person it saw, it rose up to wriggle its tentacle-like mouth pieces at Daddy Felix, who had set it free. Surely this was a match made in heaven, no? Certainly the juvenile slug seemed to think so as it lunged at the faux-leather would-be-hero.
Double-bound and slipping in and out of consciousness as he partially choked on the viscous fluid backfilling his lungs, Valya was in no position to assist anybody. [HP 575/800]

❅ Was this a nightmare? Because if it was, Astrid would very much like to wake up right now. The whole scene was a horror vision. The girl was paralyzed with fear, because the fucking black and cold slug was now on the skin above her skirt, and the feeling was horrible. She couldn't focus on anything other than the slug coming out of Valentin's throat, and not fall down. She tried to magically remove the threat, but it didn't work and her wand flew out of reach. She shook her head with tears in her eyes, absolutely terrified. And she doesn't easily gets scared, but she doesn't usually get assaulted by weird shit like that.
The slug kept circling up her body, now pressing her arms to her sides. "HEY GET OFF DEMONIC SHIT!" Astrid just screamed, wiggling her arms to get the thing off. But the slug was strong and she couldn't move too much while keeping her balance. And it kept going up, and up, and up. Teary eyes glancing towards Valentin, she saw the slug completely get out of the seeker's body thanks to Felix's spell. This was good for the boy, who was now free of these oozy shits, but it was not good for her. Now free, the large slug reached the girl's collarbone, circling her neck.
It is a weird feeling, trying to breath with a heavy mass blocking your airways. A slug, from all thing. A giant version of the things she always helped her mom get rid off. The same thing that would crawl on her hand when she was a kid, leaving cold ooze, leaving her laughing with a disgusted face. But this... this was not exactly the same things. Astrid tilted her head up, moving her face from the slug's. She barely heard Romeo shouting her name, not registering anything other than the heavy cold mass around her neck, and the little oxygen entering her lungs. Tears running down her face, she tried moving her arms, wiggling out of the slug's grasp. ❅
