This was one of the rare sunny days in Scotland, but that didn't lift up Elisa's mood. There was a warm little breeze on the way to Hogsmeade Station, but Elisa felt cold and empty. Students were smiling and waving, but Elisa still could not bring herself to lift the corners of her mouth.
This, was the last day of term. She should be feeling happy for the upcoming summer, happy for having graduated from her first year at Hogwarts. But instead she was experiencing a strange sensation of emptiness. She should've been proud for her first year, eager for returning to her family. But no, she was nostalgic of leaving this wonderful school behind- and her newly made friends.
Hauling her trunk up the stairs, the little girl climbed onto the Hogwarts Express, awaiting them at the station. She hoped at least that she'd find a compartment with a friend- or, at least, someone she knew. She was happy, therefore, to find Scout, that girl who had caught Brooke from her dangerous fall off the broom, sitting, alone in a compartment.
Quietly sliding the door open, Elisa peered in and gently asked, "Are these seats occupied?"

Sleep-Talking Reveals
july 1st, 2024(i guess?) monday, morningwc: 300 dhampir | sensitive to sunlightinteracting with: @Elisa Wagner mentioning: meowScout was miserable and exhausted. Maybe she shouldn't have spent her final night at Hogwarts staying up and conversing with her dormmates, and maybe she should've packed everything properly the week leading up to her final day. But she was never one to make analytically smart decisions, so she wasted her last night giggling and talking well into the night, and then had to wake up an hour early to pack her trunk and bags.
She felt horrible, head pounding and stomach lurching at even the idea of eating food. When breakfast was being held, Scout almost considered skipping it to avoid having to listen to the loud Great Hall and breathe in the overwhelming smell of food. Ugh, she was so nauseous. At least the train ride was smooth, which provided just a bit of comfort. Though Pebble was still in his cage, Scout found it nice to pet his feathers- anything to not have to think about her head spinning.
Usually, Scout would've been upset at the idea of having to sit alone for such a long ride, but right now? Eh, she was okay with the quiet. The background sound of students chatting and laughing from behind the closed compartment door was just loud enough that she didn't feel lonely, but not so loud that it would contribute to her headache.
When the door opened, Scout opened her bleary eyes and looked at the girl who walked in. Oh, right, she knew her, Elisa. "Oh, hey. No, it's just me." She offered, moving her stuff off of the seat across from her. "How goes it?" Ugh, small talk. The end of Scout Fu-Hai would be the menial conversation people always insisted they hated but society would never get rid of. Boo.

Entering the train compartment and shutting quietly the sliding door behind her, the first thing Elisa noticed was Scout's tired eyes. That was very noticeable and obvious, because usually, well, it seemed that normally Scout's eyes would be filled with energy and laughter. But now- hmm, maybe people were just tired and upset (like she herself was) at the end of term?
Waving her thoughts out of her mind, Elisa sat down opposite of Scout. The girl was patting an owl in a cage thoughtlessly. The little Slytherin wondered when she'd have her own owl Elisa hasn't bought her owl yet...
"Not much, Elisa answered to Scout's question, "Everything's normal except that... it's the end of term..." She finished off her sentence quietly. Yeah, it's the end of term. So interesting. Who doesn't know that? A year of intense oral training with strangers has passed, and Elisa still says stupid things. That, was proof that she was still somewhat a little uncomfortable speaking with people. And that she would still have to work towards it.
"Do you miss your parents? Elisa asked very suddenly. She immediately regretted her question. How stupid it was!
She glanced back at Scout. Scout looked really weary... That was quite unusual.

Sleep-Talking Reveals
july 1st, 2024 monday, morningwc: 300 dhampir | sensitive to sunlightinteracting with: @Elisa Wagner mentioning: @Emily Shephard"Yep, end of the term."
Scout was more excited for the things that were happening in a few weeks. Summer camp was going to start soon, and she could hangout with Emily outside of school, that would be super fun! Aw man, she wished she wasn't so tired so she could go hangout with Emi... her favorite squishy Hufflepuff would be the perfect companion on the trip back, they could talk about all the fun things they were gonna do for camp!
"Not really."
The lie slipped through her teeth before she could correct herself. God, Scout missed her dad more than anything in the world! Her first year without any parental company was fun, yeah, but she missed seeing her dad and his cooking. Man... maybe him and her 叔叔 uncle would make a crazy good spread for Asteria and Scout, that'd be so awesome. She could eat so much food she's missed... xiaolongbao sounds so perfect right now. "What about you?"
As Elisa spoke, the drowsiness was starting to set in once more. Her brown eyes felt heavy and she adjusted her position on the train seat to get more comfortable. She draped the cardigan she brought with her for the winter over her torso and legs for maximum comfiness. If only Pebble wasn't in his cage, then she'd use him as a stuffed animal. If only she had actually brought her stuffed animals with her and not shoved them in her trunk, maybe she should buy more to bring! A golden dog would be cute.
"Sorry if it seems like I'm not listening, I'm just tired." Once her sentence finished, Scout leaned against the window and closed her eyes properly. Maybe she could get in a nap before she got home and had to answer all of her parents questions.

The Gryffindor girl's short answers and her demeanour as a whole proved her fatigue. Elisa didn't mind, though... She herself wasn't really in the mood to talk.
"It's alright...", Elisa replied, not knowing what else she could have said otherwise. Elisa stared at the window again. Hogsmeade station was slipping away quietly already. This is it. We're leaving Hogwarts... Already, Elisa thought wearily. Just as she started making friends and adjusting to the new school environment, end of term came.
The girl stared, lost in her thoughts, at Scout's owl. It was in its cage. Scout's hand had ceased caressing it- her compartment partner was already draping a cardigan over herself. If she wanted to sleep, Elisa wouldn't bother her; the Slytherin could've used a nap too, if she wasn't uncomfortable sleeping in front of anyone but her family.
Not knowing what to do, she twisted her fingers around and stared at her feet. Maybe she'd read a bit?
Deciding herself, she quietly opened her satchel, not wanting to disturb Scout, and slid out a book at random. "Great Wizards of the Twentieth Century"... again. She had already read the book twice.
Sighing slightly, she flopped it open on her lap, and fixed her eyes on the first page. The black, printed letters swarmed in and out of her vision. She just couldn't concentrate.
With another small sigh, she stared out of the window again. They were gathering speed.
