Poppy was more than excited going into the shop with her recently adopted kitten. She had always wanted a cat! Ever since she visited the family manner and saw that her younger cousin was allowed to have a rat she wanted an animal of her own. It worked out perfectly that one of her father’s work friends was looking to adopt out some members of a litter their cat had recently had.

The kitten was small enough that it was balancing on the young witches shoulder as she watched in the store. The friendly shopkeepers offered a smile as Poppy entered and she gave them a smile back. She didn’t want to waste words though. She was here to get some food for her cat. Nothing more, nothing less. She couldn’t be distracted by the other cute animals around. She could only take one pet to Hogwarts. Even if she could take more, it took forever to convince her parents to let her have a cat they would never agree to another pet.

Therefore the young witch quickly passed the other animals and their respected care supplies by and beelined for the cat supplies. It took mighty willpower for her to ignore the other cats around. “Okay storm time to get what you need for the trip.” The young welsh witch said to her newly acquired cat to keep her on track. The gray kitten, which had recently learned its name storm responded with a gentle meow.

“This is the food we’ve been giving you. You like this enough. Oh and you’re going to need a litter box, and the stuff I’m going to have to put in the litter box for you.” Poppy grabbed the respected supplies as she listed them. It was difficult to carry everything that her cute, tiny, fluff-ball would need but it was worth it. Part of the deal was she had to be able to go in the store and get everything she needed to take care of Storm by herself to prove that she was capable of taking care of the cat. She found it a little stupid that she couldn’t even have her dad carry the things to the register for her, but she knew that she had to make do.

She brought everything up and paid out the galleons needed to buy the supplies. Then she made sure to thank the sweet old lady and wish her a nice day.

When she exited and asked if she did it, her parents gave her a proud smile and said that Storm would be coming with her to hogwarts. She would’ve jumped for joy if she didn’t have a cat on her shoulder.
