The morning was relatively dull, grey clouds hung in the sky, blocking the sunshine from reaching the damp grass below, however, the birds seemed to be as chipper as ever, singing pleasantly.
To Oliver, the communicating of the birds seemed to overpower the dull weather. He'd always had a love for animals, since the day he was born. Animals constantly reminded him of his home on the farm. It had always made him feel so happy tending to the sheep and cows in the early hours of the day.
Now, he was attending Hogwarts. It was a huge shift for him, to be so far away from home.
Oliver continued to trudge down the stone path, observing the view around him.
He was always curious about new places, and Hogwarts had such huge Grounds, it meant Oliver couldn't help but constantly dawdle everywhere, searching for new scenes and activities.
He smiled to himself, it was so peaceful and quiet.

After a while, he could feel raindrops trickle onto his face, he quickly whipped his head around, scanning for somewhere to shelter, when he noticed a certain tree. It had a broad trunk and hundreds of large of roots sitting just on the surface of the grass. It wasn't a particularly tall tree but it had plenty of large leaves clumped together, blocking any hint of rain from touching the roots.
Before he could make a break for the tree, he noticed a young wizard already sat on one of the large roots.
Oliver was hesitant, he didn't want to bother the wizard underneath the tree by appearing, perhaps they didn't want to talk or be seen, but he didn't want to be caught out in the rain.
He shoved his hands into his front pockets and walked over until he was sheltered from the now heavy rain. Oliver stood in front of the wizard's gaze.
"Sorry." He said, "I don't mean to bother you, it's just I didn't want to get caught out in that"
he gestured toward the heavy rain behind him and wandered toward a large root, sitting down on it.
There was a silence for a moment, the only sounds were the rain hitting the leaves above the two wizards until Oliver spoke.
"I don't mean to pry..." He began.
"But can I ask what you're doing out here?"

Eliza was now in Hogwarts. After weeks of anticipation she was here. The summer camp buses had dropped off the future first years a day early so they could adjust or something like that. She had gotten all her stuff in her cabin but didn't feel like unpacking it yet. Right now she just wanted to explore Hogwarts in all its glory.
She was familiar with Scotland so the mountains and forests weren't as impressive to her as someone from like England but they were still pretty cool. The Hogwarts castle is what blew her away. The scale, the architect it was all so incredible. It was obviously made with magical ability since she's never seen anything so amazing made by any Muggle.
After Eliza was done exploring the grounds she wished she could explore the castle but knew she couldn't do it yet. Instead she decided to just sit down and imagine all the adventures that she'll go on in the next seven years and beyond.
Sitting down on the roots of a giant oak tree she laid back thinking about what she'll do at Hogwarts. Maybe she'll join a magic dueling club or Quidditch, maybe she'll discover the secrets of Hogwarts, the possibilities were endless.
As she sat there the cloudy sky outside got darker and darker waiting to let out all its rain. Then finally it did. Eliza didn't care though the tree was thick and would protect her from it. It wasn't her first rodeo with Scotland's erratic weather patterns.
A boy came to the tree a little later to shelter himself from the rain. She simply nodded when he apologized. It wasn't like she owned the tree and that rain would drench him in the snap of a finger. She sat there silently admiring the rain.
"Me? Nothing better to do I guess." Eliza asked responding to the boy's question. She was more than happy to strike up a conversation with this boy, she hated being alone.
"I'm Elizabeth by the way. Elizabeth McNair. Most people call me Eliza though. You can call me whatever though, I don't really care." Eliza said turning to the boy.

"Nothing better do to I guess" The girl said, Oliver nodded, understandingly.
She had hazel brown hair in a bob and fair skin. Oliver looked toward her tie, she was a Hufflepuff too, he thought.
"I'm Elizabeth by the way. Elizabeth McNair. Most people call me Eliza though. You can call me whatever though, I don't really care."
Oliver smiled, letting out a little chuckle, he was quite relieved she was friendly. He leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees.
"I'm Oliver, Oliver lock." He said, twiddling his thumbs together.
"I'm in Hufflepuff too, I'm not usually in the common room much though."
He glanced towards the view. Oliver always liked the rain, not to be in it, but just to admire it from afar.
The sound of rain always made him feel relaxed too. It was such a calming sound.
Oliver turned back to face the Hufflepuff, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.
"It's nice out here." He said.
"I try to get out here as much as I can, but I've been so focused on studies."
To Oliver, Hogwarts was sort of daunting, it was such an enormous castle, sometimes it gave him a headache to try and find certain places inside. Especially when he's looking for classes, he was always worried that he'd be late. But when he was outside, he felt a lot of that stress disappear, he felt so at home in the outdoors.

Eliza frowned. She knew this would happen during summer camp but it was still uncomfortable though. It was understandable he thought Eliza was already in Hogwarts, how was he supposed to know they let in future first years into the summer camps?
"Oh actually I'm not an official first year yet. The Hogwarts summer camp allows kids that are joining Hogwarts the following semester to go to the summer camps early. I don't even know what house I'm going to be in. I guess I'll get into Hufflepuff, I'm not that smart, brave, or cunning." Eliza said awkwardly.
She looked down and remembered she was wearing a airy yellow scarf. 'Well that explains why he thought I was a Hufflepuff.' Eliza thought. Her Hogwarts career is going of to a great start. Maybe she shouldn't have joined the summer camp considering she didn't know much about the Wizarding World or Hogwarts.
"Yea it's my first time out here. The view is so beautiful. I can't believe we get to spend seven years here. Imagine all the magic we'll get to learn." Eliza said looking out into the rain. Even though it was pouring you could still make out the castle. The tree was far enough away that you could make out the towers and not just a wall, but close enough that you couldn't make out the whole castle.
