Summer Duels, Match 5
As quick as the duel was started, his wand lashed out a moment later. "Obscuro!" He had the satisfaction for just a moment of seeing a blindfold wrap around one of his opponent's eyes before his own vision was cut off. "Ugh! Cyrus are you ok?" He couldn't see what spells the other boy had been hit by, but he hoped he had at least managed to dodge the blindfold. He couldn't even hear anything from the other team in terms of exclamations of pain or shock. "This blindfold better not mess up my hair." He mumbled underneath his breath, mostly upset about the fact that he was hit at all.Action || As Strategized

The next few minutes were indeed more measured, and Julian couldn't help but feel a smidge sorry for the quartet of duellists as each of them struggled against the different spells impairing their movement or vision. Rhett and Cyrus, having emerged the luckier duo from the previous round of spell-casting, had an easier time of it. Rhett quickly pulled off the blindfold that had wrapped itself around his head, while it took only a well-cast general counterspell for Cyrus to regain his freedom of motion; and with their opponents both tied up, they had the latitude they needed to quickly free themselves without interruption.
The situation was a little more complicated for Hadashi and Milosh's team, with Milosh being both tied up and blinfolded, meaning either Milosh or Hadashi would have to free themselves from their ropes before Milosh's blindfold could be removed; and while Milosh was able to quickly wriggle out of the ropes binding his wrists, Hadashi was having a harder time of it. Hopefully, he might've at least managed to loosen them up. Julian squinted at the boy's wrists, trying to gauge his progress. If he didn't get free soon, it would start getting much harder as the Cyrus and Rhett started firing off spells

Summer Duels, Match 5

The effects of his finite incantatem settled over him like snow on a large mountain. He shook his head, his hair flying out around him like a golden retriever's ears, and he grinned. Already, he felt better; he could have run a mile.
He glanced over at Everett, who had taken off his blindfold. 'I'm great!' he assured the other American. 'Your hair looks okay; I wouldn't be too worried.' The comment was genuine. 'In fact, you look super ready to knock 'em out of the park! We've got this!' If he weren't so focused on holding his wand – and himself – steady, he would have offered a high five or a fist bump.
Only now did he truly realise the effects of fulgari. It did not seem quite as awful as the full body-bind curse, seeing as it only really bound ones hands. A fulgari'd individual was not forced to succumb to statuesque limbs and paralytic posture, but rather could move and even dodge! It was truly a kindness.
Sadly, the arrogant boy had no trouble against Cyrus's excellent spellwork. The other boy, however, struggled a bit more. And, well, at least the arrogant one would not be able to perform a body-bind just yet. That, at least, assuaged Cyrus's nerves.
He could best be described as something of a bundle of joy once again; most of his nerves having dissipated.

Summer Duels, Match 5
All he had to do was continue to move. He'd squirm and strain against the restraints, trying desperately to not become a sitting duck. Finally, a snap occurred, and he'd sit upright, nearly panting. He had not been in such a panic before, but as soon as he righted himself upright, wand grasped in hand, the sudden darkness hit him once more. Crap, that was still another thing he had to deal with.
The other concern on his mind was how his partner was holding up. Although he couldn't really.. ask him how he was, he'd instead cup his hands and yell for him.
"Hadashi? How you hanging in there man?"
Whilst waiting for an answer, he'd decide he just had to take care of himself at this point, granted.. his actions were still limited, but he also realized no spells were slung their way this turn. That was pure luck, but also.. had the other figures escaped from their bounds? It was all so nerve wracking when he couldn't see anything, and yelling during the midst of a duel wasn't the smartest as it was distracting to him and his partner and gave the other team an advantage, which they obviously didn't need any more of.

Summer Duels, Match 5
Squirming and struggling, putting all his effort into it, Hadashi was at last able to accomplish nothing. He remained tied up, unable to get his hands free.
Americans were so VERY annoying.
He looked over and saw that Miroshu-san escaped. How good for him. Still had the blindfold on though.
"Can't get loose. Still working on it. Remain calm, we are fine."
Despite how he was actually enjoying this feeling, this was not conducive to dueling. This needed to change and quickly.

Rett yanked the blindfold off, quickly smoothing out his hair and mumbling a thanks to Cyrus for the compliment, a blush coloring his cheeks. Not his fault that Cyrus was cute and complimenting him. He looked over at the other two, Hadashi still bound by Fulgari and Milosh still blindfolded. "Aye, we ain't doin' half bad now." He gave a toothy grin over towards Cyrus, proud of where they were sitting pretty on the duelling piste.
At least for now. "You need to teach me how to do those fancy double spells." Honestly, it was like having three spells in one round, but he couldn't imagine how exhausting they were to do.Action || As Strategized

Effects: Milosh is no longer blindfolded, and his evasion and accuracy return to normal.
Hadashi Hitoshi
ReducioHadashi Hitoshi struggles against his bindings.
Strength DC: 10
Strength Check: [d20: 18] + 3 = 21
21 > 10 → Success
Effects: Hadashi has broken out of his bindings, and is no longer under the effects of Fulgari..
The advantage that Everett and Cyrus had gotten last round was about to pay off - as Hadashi still struggled against his bindings and Milosh tried to clear his vision, the other boys went on the attack! It was a good strategy - attack while your opponents were too distracted to dodge. Luckily for the struggling team, Cyrus's wand betrayed him and he was unable to cast the blasting curse he intended to. Phoenix wands could be quite unpredictable! Rett on the other hand sent a powerful one right at Milosh. Though Milosh managed to get his blindfold off, it was a smidge too late. The blasting curse exploded at his feet! Ouch..that had to hurt.
Luckily for Milosh, he wouldn't be alone for long. Hadashi finally was able to break free from his bindings and rejoin the fight! And at least Milosh would be able to see again (assuming he wasn't seeing stars). Rett and Cyrus had taken an early advantage, but with all duelists now fully back in the fight, anything could happen. It was definitely not too late for a comeback. How were Milosh and Hadashi going to regroup, and what would they do to try to regain the control? (Stay tuned to find out).

Summer Duels, Match 5

The best thing about this being Cyrus's first duel was that he actually hadn't performed some of these spells on other people. Like Fulgari, for instance. That one was rather new, and he was honestly surprised it had worked. But even now, as Hadashi struggled against his bindings, Cyrus knew it was only a matter of time before either Hadashi broke free or the spell's effects wore off.
That didn't mean he couldn't do anything. Everett and he were on the same page when they raised their wands in preparation to cast Confringo. Cyrus put all of his belief into the spell; he mustered so much courage that he might have stumbled over the incantation. Or his wand movement might have been slightly off with the flamboyant flourish he tried to add at the end. Whatever the case, while Everett sent an amazingly-cast spell at Milosh, Cyrus stared sadly at his new wand.
'C'mon, dude,' he urged. Did he have to hype his wand up? 'Work with me here! I thought you liked to be loud...' He held his wand with two hands, glad his opponents were busy for the moment so that he did not have to worry about dodging just yet. 'Pretty please with a cherry on top? Please?'
Turning to Everett, he grinned. 'Nice spell! Sorry about mine... That wasn't the intention.' He chuckled awkwardly. 'I'm not sure what happened, but I hope it won't happen again!'

Milosh's next course of action could not be any clearer. He'd reach up back behind his head and tug at the knot, swiftly releasing the blindfold from around his eyes. His first reaction was to squint and whip his head around at his surroundings. Luckily for him, his eyebrows shot up into his forehead as he saw Hadashi wiggle out of the binds, finally! Now that they were both free-
Before he could finish his sentence, he got blasted slightly backwards from a strong burst of flames. he'd dust off his robes, making sure he wasn't still aflame. Deducting that it was just a really well cast Confringo, a frown slipped on his features, that pissed him off. Of course, a duelist must take advantage of their opponent's weakness. But had he gotten the blindfold off a second quicker, he would've been able to dodge.
That being said, a small exhale escaped him as he saw the two opponents exchange a babble of words, some annoyance plastered on Cyrus' features as his wand fizzled out, producing a failed spell. He would hold that above Cyrus' head for the rest of his days had they decided to have another practice duel.
He'd send a small grin to Hadashi. "Shake it off, let's go. Head back in the game. So help me if I get bound again. The fight's only begun and I want to deal some pain." Milosh's jaws clenched as his gaze flicked back to survey the two in front of them. The next round would be interesting, they were essentially on the same level once again, just a bit more damaged.

There was a sense of ease that came over Everett when he was spell casting, and thank Merlin for that because he spent countless hours practicing and refining his technique. Him and his wand were good friends, an extension of himself at this point. "Confringo!" He couldn't help the small smile that bloomed on his face as he watched the explosion erupt at Milosh's feet.
He turned to see Cyrus hyping up his wand, seeing as his last spell failed and he couldn't help but giggle at the boy. "No sweat off my back Cyrus. We're sitting mighty pretty. I can give you and your wand a moment of privacy if you need it." He stuck his tongue out playfully at the boy before his gaze hardened and shifted back to the battlefield to focus once more.
