Dear Mother and Father,
I know it hasn't been that long since I have departed but I wanted to write back home about today's events. Although you have probably heard of all of these before I shall detail them below. Once I got on the trains I met three very kind people, 2 girls and a boy (whom I acted very properly with), I believe we will become great friends throughout my years at Hogwarts.
After getting off the train we were brought on a calm boat ride across the lake surrounding the castle, the groundskeeper even tied cute rubber ducks to the helms. I sat with 3 other people which was a little cramped but I managed. After arriving at the castle we were led into a great dining hall where they were holding a feast then we were lined up and sorted. To be sorted they placed a magical talking hat on our heads that sorted us into 4 houses, Hufflepuff, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, and Gryffindor!
I got Gryffindor although I don't know if it suits me yet. Then the feast ended which is how I found the time to write this letter to you. I can't wait for winter vacation so I can come home and visit all of you!
