Match 7 - Dan vs. Arc
That was better. This one hit, and his demon tickling curse missed. Actually, it was better. Arc's spell failed. Balance was restored. Dan calmed noticeably, but his nose was still running. Therefore, he was still upset. Plus, while it helped, it didn't fully alleviate the fact that his first spell of his first duel missed. That was something he was going to have to live with forever. Unless he won, of course. Then it would be part of a comeback story.
In addition, Arc had tried to assault him with tickles. As ticklish as Dan was, that was a REALLY low move.
Dan decided it was time to even the playing field a little. Utilizing the wand motions, he spoke his incantation.
"Mucus ad Nauseum."
He pointed his wand at Arc. His anger having mostly subsided, now it was time to pay him back in kind. If Dan was going to have a runny nose, so was Arc.

Match 7 - Dan vs. Arc
Arc's wand would just fizzle out without nothing to show as he failed to cast the spell. Huh. He hadn't mastered the tickling charm but he could make it nine times out of ten tries. So, it came as a surprise to the boy. The pressure of the duel must have get to him somewhat.
Before he could do anything else, though, Dan's fire would reach him squarely in the chest and non-dominant arm. The blast pushed him back, but thankfully, nothing was on fire. It kind of stung on his right arm, though. It had a first-degree burn at least.
The young eagle winced at the pain, but his opponent's wand movement reminded him to keep going. He was still in a duel and the show must go on. His plan was still afoot and he just needed to stick to it to win.
"Bullarum Immortalem," said Arc as calmly as he could.

Match 7 - Dan vs. Arc
A stream of bubbles on his left and a bright flash to his right. Both spells fired, yet not one student fell. While the bubbles missed Mr. Palmer completely and quickly found their way into the crowd rather than the slytherin's vicinity, Mr. Percivious effortlessly dodged the curse fired at him.
Professor Browne would seem impressed as he whistled between his fingers. "Well done boys! WOO! Keep at it. BRING IT." Caradoc was getting pumped again. The two opposing students seemed to almost feed from the anticipation they were creating in the room.

Match 7 - Dan vs. Arc
The tip of the dark-haired boy's wand suddenly created a stream of non-bursting bubbles. They would have hindered his opponent's movement if it landed, but his aim was not true. Arc had to move away to not get hit by the other boy’s curse and it messed his aim terribly. His own spell went past the young Slytherin and found their way into the crowd. Oops. Arc sincerely hoped they were fine.
The young eagle really needed to stop his opponent's movement for his plan to work, though, so, he would have to cast the bubble-producing charm again. Hopefully, he would be accurate this time.
"Bullarum Immortalem," Arc said with his usual nonchalant look.

Match 7 - Dan vs. Arc
Dan grinned as the bubbles whizzed by him. The crowd would just have to deal with it. Unfortunately, his own spell missed too. Arc was as good a dodger as he was. While impressive, Dan was getting well tired of it. So, he decided to do something about it. It was getting harder and harder to see. He needed to get them on an even playing field again and fast.
He pointed his wand at Arc, and used a different wand motion.
"Wingardium Leviosa."

Match 7 - Dan vs. Arc
Caradoc had something people called a deja vu. They both missed again. Were they getting distracted or something. The professor would look amongst the crowd, trying to find out if maybe the boys would have been caught in some pretty face's glancing. As his search would not catch anything out of the ordinary, he'd clap his hands.
"Focus lads. I'm not sure what's gotten into you. But you can look at each other's pretty twinkling eyes after the match."
He'd grin at both students as he crossed his arms and awaited their next moves. These boys had style, but style did not help when it did not hit. Could clearly use a bit of practice on that.

Match 7 - Dan vs. Arc
Missed. AGAIN. Perhaps it was due to him dodging and weaving through Arc's Bubblebeam attack like an absolute ninja boss? Yeah, that had to be it. The world's first and greatest Irish ninja, everybody.
This was beginning to get greatly annoying. When the head of Hufflepuff called them out on looking into each other's eyes, he felt a bit offended. Sure, Arc was cute, but he'd already incurred Dan's wrath. And anyway, Andy Vance was WAY cuter.
Dan blinked, a bit confused for a moment. Why had THOSE words been the ones that came to mind? Whatever. That was NOT important. What was important was winning this duel. Or at least putting Arc into the Nurse's Office or whatever it was called. Hospital Wing? Whatever.
He waved his wand appropriately, and pointed at Arc, PRETTY sure he wasn't aiming for his face.
"Incendio."

Match 7 - Dan vs. Arc
Arc might be a little bit miffed by Professor Browne's comment. But even if he did, he did not let it show on his face. He just smiled a little and concentrated on the boy in front of him. As an opponent. He concentrated on him as an opponent. Not whatever it was the professor was insinuating.
The pale boy once again readied his wand and got himself prepared to cast the bubble-producing charm. Arc might seem like a one-trick pony but he really needed this charm to hit for his plan to work. He could use many other spells after this.
Hopefully, the third time's would be a charm. "Bullarum Immortalem," said the boy still looking deadpanned.

"Bubbles to the left of me. Flames to the right. Here I am, stuck in the middle with you..."
The professor could not help himself singing the tune under his breath as he watched the two boys miss each other another time. They were both quick, he had to give it to them. Drop them in a fight and they'd have a very good shot at coming out unscaved.
"You're certainly quick boys. But remember. As quick as you are, that opponent is going to keep firing until you blow them off their socks!" He clapped his hands again as a request for their actions. They needed to step up their game, get it going. Lash out if they had to. He had hoped his little taunt would have gotten something out of them, but it seemed they were rather immume for that at the moment. Caradoc was now holding on tight to the stage as he silently prayed for some action.

Match 7 - Dan vs. Arc
Another round of spellcasting had passed. And once again, they both missed. Arc was starting to wonder if it was just Dan and him that were bad at aiming instead of them being good at evading attacks. He took a deep breath before pointing his wand again. He really needed to concentrate. It would not do him well to dwell on his past failures. He had to keep going. He would visualize success. He would finally hit Dan. And Arc would prevail.
Or not. At least, another hit would be nice. Fourth time's the charm?
"Bullarum Immortalem," the young Ravenclaw said with a new look of determination.
