Errand Everybody Cleanup Closed

ooc: I'm busy w/ IRL commitments so I probably won't be able to reply for a couple days! Feel free to skip over me if you need.

Raine climbed down from her fifth tree and looked around to see that the rest of the trees in the clearing were already cleared and empty of fairy lights. Each tree had a pile of lights under it and she looked over to see Landon wrapping the last group of lights into a pile at the base of a tree. Briskly walking over to the middle of the area, she heard him ask about the fountain, and although she knew that the fountain did not, in fact, have a smell to it because Veritaserum was a scentless and tasteless potion, she was sure that the sour smell from the fruity drink within the fountain would be something terrible to clean out. So when the volunteering was mentioned, Raine quickly raised her hand along with the boy and said,

"Not it!"

That left her other Gryffindor housemate to drain and clean the fountain out. 'Poor girl'. Raine gave the red-haired girl a sympathetic look before turning to see Landon struggling with the wooden dance floor. Rushing to his side, she grabbed the other end of the flooring and helped him lift it up.

"Let me help you with this," she offered and she tried to lift up the wooden board with the boy.

It was truly too heavy.

Dropping her end with an apologetic expression to the Slytherin, she then smiled as an idea came to her head. "Hold on, Landon. We are wizards and witches, are we not? And Professor V. didn't say anything about not using magic," Raine tapped the side of her head. "Why didn't I think of this before?"

Pulling out her wand, Raine did the motion for the Levitation Charm and said, "Wingardium Leviosa" as she pointed to the board that Landom was still struggling to hold up. Immediately, the board raised itself into the air a feet inches off the ground and Raine, with a smile on her face, used her wand to guide the wooden board over to the side to rest against a tree. After lowering the first board, she did it again for the second and third large pieces of flooring until the flattened grass beneath the boards was showing once again.

'At least the animals would be able to eat from a bit of fresher grass now. Or as fresh as flattened grass can be.'

With that last bit done, she looked around and saw the others were still working a bit. Turning to Landon, she nodded back toward the castle."Shall we go? You seemed to have worked hard today, climbing those trees right along with me and doing more of the heavy lifting. I say we deserve some well-needed rest. Let's go grab a snack from the kitchens."

Raine led the way, and she could hear a bit of shuffling behind her. She knew she shouldn't assume, but she was going to assume that Landon was following her back to the castle anyway, and Raine continued the short walk back inside the stone enclosure with an accomplished smile on her face. After she got her snack, she would go and tell Professor Vernatis about the work they had done that day.

Lallie scooped up the last of all the water and dumped it in the tub. She had finally finished and she could take a moment to catch her breath. She hated that her body had gotten used to the smell. The human body is an amazing thing to be able to adapt to situations quickly but that meant she spent so long with that horrid smell that her body decided it was going to engrave the smell in her.

She looked over to Raine and the Slytherin who had begun to lift up the dance board. 'OK, Lallie now for the easy part. Let's finish this quickly so we're not stranded.' Lallie thought walking to the soap and sponges.

Dunking the sponge into the soapy water she stepped into the slimy fountain, shuddered and began scrubbing. The sponge and soap were really efficient and covered a lot of ground really fast.

While she was working she looked to see how the two were doing on the dance floor and saw Raine levitating the wood flooring to move it. She wished that she learned the Cleaning Spell so she could find an easy way out of this chore like Raine did.

After about ten minutes of scrubbing, she was finished. They didn't seem to provide a way to rinse out the fountain so she assumed she would just leave the suds there. She checked and saw that all the jobs were done. She was happy they did this job so quickly and efficiently. She walked out of the remains of the Blossom Ball happy she was able to help out.
