Friendship is Magic
Reducio
I should be able to post faster now. So sorry again.
Mari preferred chocolate, especially since her mum wasn't around, but the way Palmer ate that chicken made it tempting. Not in a creepy way, of course - he just really seemed to like it. Her hypothesis was supported by a declaration that he was having fried chicken; Mari chuckled and reached for one herself. The crispy outer layer, coupled with a juicy inner one was, quite simply divine. She couldn't imagine a better day, with better friends.
It was strange, though, because Red's mood seemed to have taken a turn; when asked if she was going to have any food, the girl just coldly told him no and proceeded to work on Herbology homework instead. Mari looked at her aghast. Had something happened? For all she knew, this was just three friends hanging out, yet suddenly Red didn't seem to be on the same page as them.
"Are you...alright, Red?" Mari asked, reaching to pat the girl's arm. "Did something happen?"
She reached for another bite of chicken, then felt immediately uncomfortable at the situation. Maybe this hadn't been a good idea after all... In typical Mari behavior, though, she continued: "Whenever Lucy and I have a fight, Mum and Dad always tell us to talk it out instead of bottling up our feelings. I don't really know what's happened, but...I dunno." She reddened. Mari would be a useless therapist, she knew, and this interaction was proving it.
Waiting to see if Dan could perhaps jump in and assist, she took another bite of chicken quietly.
