Some Early Morning Reading Open Finished

“We could go for a walk outside...” Amaya suggested, though she couldn’t meet Maggie’s eyes. Maggie sighed at the girl’s shyness, feeling somewhat bad for her. She liked the idea, but she had another one in mind. Before she could say anything, though, the girl moved her arm, and her paper fluttered down to the floor. Amaya blushed, a dark pink color spreading across her cheeks and nose, but Maggie just grinned at her and bent down to pick up the piece of paper. She couldn’t help herself, she looked at the drawing. It was of a wizard, and it was good. Like, really good. “Wow,” Maggie said, “You’re an amazing artist, Amaya.” Maggie didn’t understand why Amaya had wanted to hide her drawing from them, if she had drawn it she’d be showing it to everyone she met. She handed the drawing back to Amaya, who was still blushing. “I’m down for a walk, what about you, Tatiana?” Maggie asked the other Ravenclaw girl, looking towards her expectantly. The two girls she’d met in the library seemed extremely kind, and Maggie was looking forward to becoming friends with them both. Amaya, although being the quieter soul of the two, was incredibly talented and humble, and Tatiana seemed extremely friendly and helpful.

Tatiana reviewed the herbology notes with Maggie while she worked on her paper. The materials were easy enough, she had already passed over them a few times earlier that morning. And drawing and labeling them as she read about them only helped to cement the information in her brain. She took the opportunity to draw plant specimens and diagrams as she described them, explaining each detail as she went. Time passed rather quickly, and before she knew it, Maggie's paper was finished. A whole foot of parchment was neatly scribbled upon. “You are an absolute saint, Tatiana.” Maggie sighed, signing her name at the top. She smiled back at her, more than happy to have helped. She already enjoyed the information, so helping someone understand it gave her a feeling of satisfaction. “So,” Maggie began, setting aside her study materials. “What do you guys like to do for fun around here?”

In the time they had spent studying, Amaya had picked up her quill and began drawing again. She'd barely made a sound, seemingly lost in her own world, as the ink glided across the page. She seemed to really know what she was doing, but was too shy to share it with either of them. At the sound of Maggie's voice, she looked up."We could go for a walk outside.." she suggested timidly, after a brief moment. As she spoke, she moved her arm that had been covering the parchment, and the paper slid onto the floor. Amaya blushed, realizing her drawing was now exposed. Maggie's eyebrows raised as she leaned down to pick it up. “Wow,” she said, “You’re an amazing artist, Amaya.” Looking over, Tatiana could see it was a drawing of a wizard, and it was of spectacular quality. "This is incredible," she said, looking at Amaya. "Why have you been hiding it all this time?" she smiled, hoping to encourage some confidence in her.

“I’m down for a walk," Maggie responded, "what about you, Tatiana?”

"Sure," she shrugged. "It's about time I make my way out of this stuffy library today." The sun was setting anyway, and she wanted to see the beautiful sunset over the lake.
