“WILLIAM! I SWEAR TO GOD YOU- ARGH! ALFRED! LET! GO! OF! ME!”, Charlotte screamed and seemed to get angrier by the second. She noticed the three boys walking past her. That must be her husband’s plan. Alfred had clung to her like a monkey and would not let go, “Mother, don't you love me? Mommy!-”, “Shut your bloody mouth!”, now she lost her balance and fell to the ground, “Oof!”, Alfred still won’t let go.

With the girls
Julian, Oscar, Emmet, and George were now in the girl’s base. Holly saw the boys coming, but they were on the wrong track. (Where Jane and Olive were.)

But then she saw Abbey and Cynthia. “Why are they coming back?!”, she thought, “I thought they like my Plan? Why are they changing it!?”

She didn't understand their act at all, because they needed someone to take care of getting the flag from the base of the boys. But fine, then she just goes to the other base and gets the flag herself.

Still, she had briefly used the time to intercept Julian, catch him, only to hide again. So when the boys arrive here, Jane only has to take care of three little boys.

Or rather, Jane, Abbey, Cynthia and Olive now have this job. Hopefully, they don't think they should go back to the boys' base after that. Otherwise, no one is guarding the real flag. And the risk of getting caught becomes dangerously high.

With the boys
William had noticed Cynthia in the bushes and watched her sneak back. Perfect, that means, they are more concerned about their own flag and have forgotten the flag from his team.

Jane and Olive had also noticed what was going on at the open field. They stood a bit in the background with their fake flag watching Alfred and Charlotte. Jane felt sort of bad for Charlotte and when she fell she hesitated to go help. She thought it might of gone a bit far and that it wasn’t just a game anymore, but decided to let it be an Adams family decision to stop Alfred or not.

Even four year old Olive noticed the three boys sneaking into their base, but she and Jane continued standing on the same place watching the drama. Jane saw Abbey and Cynthia run past them so she counted on them to stop the boys from finding Holly and the real flag. Might have been a bad plan, but she wanted to help her friend Charlotte if it escalated between her and her son. She knew it was a possibility it could happen!

Her plan to stand and watch was quickly changed. The three boys had now turned and was running over to her and Olive. Jane grabbed Olives hand and they ran as fast as a four year old can run, further into the girl’s base.

With the girls
Abbey wasn’t sure about going back to their base at all, but since Cynthia seemed so sure that the both of them needed to help Holly she followed after her. The two girl ran over to where Holly once was standing, but she wasn’t there anymore. "This was where she was standing in the beginning of the round right?" Cynthia asked sounding stressed. Abbey nodded as a response. She quickly understood why Holly wasn’t there. She noticed that Julian wasn’t in their base anymore and her three younger brothers ran after her mother and Olive.

"Holly left to do what we were supposed to do!" Abbey was frustrated and felt like she had ruined Holly’s master plan. "Oh…" Cynthia also understood what was going on now and that they shouldn’t have changed the plan. “Sorry.” she said feeling bad just like Abbey at this point. "Its fine, it’s just a game." Abbey paused thinking. “I will go help Holly, and then you stay here and protect the flag. Mom and Olive can catch the boys and me and Holly can get the boys flag!"

This new plan would hopefully work and not mess things up even more. Now that both Cynthia and Abbey knew Julian wasn’t in their base they were sure it would be fine for Abbey to leave and help Holly find the boys flag.

Charlotte was sick of it by now and yelled, “THAT’S IT!”, She grabbed Alfred, threw him over her shoulder like a potato sack and personally carried him to the place where the caught one’s should stay. She put him down and said, “AND STAY THERE! DON’T EVEN THINK ABOUT MOVING OR DOING SOMETHING LIKE THAT AGAIN!”
Now first things first, she took a deep breath to calm herself down.

With the boys
William, for one, was completely relaxed as he believed his team could actually win. But for another, he will hear an ear full from his wife when this is over.

He didn’t notice when Holly practically snuck past under his nose. Behind a bush, she noticed how Abbey came to her. She whispered softly but annoyed so that no one could hear her but Abbey, “You could have told me earlier that you don't like my plan.”, she sighed, “Or at least Cynthia could have told me privately that she couldn't stand the spotlight.”, Holly didn't know if that was true, but she just hoped her plan still worked, “Do you still know what your task is and do you even want to do the task?” with how they acted, she really wasn't so sure anymore if Abbey was still on board with her plan. She wasn't very angry at the others, especially not at Abbey, (Maybe a bit at Cynthia,) but more at herself; in her head, she wished she'd noticed that they didn't like her plan. She thought she did a good job and everybody had a good and fun task to do. Was it too much pressure for Cynthia? She'd have to talk to Cynthia afterwards, that's for sure.

After all, one thing was clear: if they wanted the plan to work, everyone had to work together. And not just change plans without a real reason. At least that was Holly's thought. She seemed hurt, betrayed, and maybe even a bit sulky.
(But no worries it will pass. It is just how she reacts to it. She is still a child you know.)

On the open field
Charlotte had calmed down and ran back to her base to help Jane and Olive. When she noticed Cynthia, she was confused. “What are you doing here? Do you have the flag yet already? That was fast.”

Julian stood there next to Alfred (Because he was also caught.) "Sorry I didn’t manage to get the flag, but I know where it is!" When Julian ran into the girl’s base he ran close enough to where Holly was standing before she caught him, to see where the red flag was (the real one.) “And good job distracting your mother by the way! I hadn’t expected you to be so dramatic, but I mean it totally worked, even though Holly caught me.” Julian smiled hoping Alfred wasn’t mad at him for failing, or mad that Charlotte had managed to get him off.

With the boys
Steven stood next to William and they both just stood there and mainly watched what was going on in the open field. Steven didn’t notice Holly either, or Abbey…

Abbey was a bit shocked by what Holly said when she made it past her father and William, and came up to her. Of course she didn’t hate the plan! Of course Cynthia wasn’t scared of standing in the spotlight! She felt a bit offended, but at the same time just shocked that was the way Holly looked at the situation. "We didn’t leave because we didn’t like your plan! We left because there is no plan if the boys get our flag. Cynthia thought you needed help because Julian, Oscar, Emmet AND George managed to get into our base!” she sounded a bit angry, but she wasn’t, she just wanted Holly to understand that they didn’t hate her plan or had anything against her. "Your plan was great… ok?"

On the open field (again)
"Me and Abbey wanted to help Holly because all my brothers managed to make it into our base. The plans ended up changing a bit…" she still felt like she had ruined everything. They had a chance to win and a good plan, but now everything was just sort of happening without anyone having a plan.

“Nah don’t worry that’s great!”, but then he said, “I'm more worried after the game. My mother is angry. And I mean angry at me.”, He laughed at it.

With the boys
That was the worst thing Abbey could say. It was easy to see from Holly’s angry look. She looked now exactly like her mother when she got mad. “Excuse me?! I caught Julian. And even then, it was still Jane, Olive, AND me against Oscar, Emmet, AND George!” She mimicked the “and” as Abbey had emphasized, “It was three against three anyway. And what is the point of one of my, as you said great, plans now, if you think that there is no plan anymore, if you manipulate your own progress, you would have had the best chance of catching the flag way before the guys could even get near it!”

“Holly! Time out! Right now!”, that was William he heard his daughter loud and clear, “You do not talk to your friends that way.”, “But dad!”, Liam was very different from Charlotte, he was calm but determined and not as explosive as his temperamental wife, “No buts. Time out.”, “That’s not fair! She-”, “I do not care. How many times have I told you not to get into such obsessive behavior like that? It’s a game. Go now.”

Angrily she stomped away.

On the open field (Again)
“Holly won’t like that one bit.”, Said Charlotte until she had to correct herself, “Scratch that. She hates it. Look.”, she pointed at her daughter who stomped her way to the table where they had been eating earlier. “Looks like she got a time-out. That means she got into an argument, I guess with Abbey, and my husband found her. Where did this girl get this temper from?”, said the woman who is the feistiest woman on this planet, “Anyway, I would wait a bit now, she needs to calm down.”

With the Boys (again)
William looked at Abbey and said, “Sorry about her. She doesn't mean it as bad as she just said, so I'll talk to her later when she calmed down a bit, but she will apologize, don’t worry about that. Where did she get this temper?”, said the man who married the angriest woman on this planet, but he just shakes his head and says to Steven, “Do you need a minute? Should we stop the game for a moment, or do you want a headstart? It’s your call. Just don’t go to Holly right now because that would be more than just a bad idea.” He hoped Abbey would understand this, or at least try.

Why did there have to be something every year that the Adam family had to ruin?

On the open field (again again)
Alfred noticed his sister, at first, he wanted to laugh because he thought she had been caught. But when he saw she stomped to the picnic area he knew something wasn't right. “Julian, wait a minute. I’ll be right back.”
Of the Adam's, he was the only one who could get close to her when she was like that. But the reason he went to her now was not to make fun of her, as many expect him to do, but to comfort her. Holly felt bad, he recognized that from afar, but what he also saw as her brother was that she would soon cry. Even if no one else would see it, but he also knew Holly wanted nobody to see her tears now.

Abbey didn’t understand Holly’s perspective on the situation. It was so obvious to her that if the four boys had managed to get the flag then it wouldn’t help that both Cynthia and Abbey was in the boy’s base doing their part of the plan. It was a four year old and a mother, and Holly against Julian, Emmet, George and Oscar. All fast boys. Neither Abbey or Cynthia knew that Julian was caught when they changed the plan and went to help Holly. "We didn’t know you had caught Julian!" Abbey was getting frustrated. She wasn’t mad at Holly she just thought it was no reason for Holly to be mad at her. Like what had she done wrong? And Cynthia, what had she done other than failing an attempt of helping? Since when was wanting to help a bad thing, Abbey thought.

Abbey watched as Holly walked angrily away. "I’m sorry" she mumbled, no one hearing her.

On the open field
Cynthia felt bad, but at the same time she felt just like Abbey. She also didn’t understand Holly’s perspective. She looked up at Charlotte, "Do you also think I did the wrong thing? Trying to help…"

With the boys (Again)
Steven looked at William with a worried and upset look. It seemed like the best idea was to pause the game for a while and just talk about what just happened. "Maybe we should stop the game for a while" He suggested. He wasn’t always the best at making decisions for more the just him. He also didn’t know Holly like William did (obviously) so it wasn’t really his choice to take he felt.

Abbey understood why it wasn’t a good idea to talk to Holly right now and stood next to her father not planning on walking over to Holly.

With Holly and Alfred
Alfred walked over to his sister and sat himself next to her, “Okay what happened and what did you do?”
Holly had put her head down on the table and muttered that only Alfred understood what she said, “I ruined everything.”, but Al only raised an eyebrow, “How?”, with that Holly sobbed, “I yelled at Abbey!” and now she cried.

“Okay, can you tell me the whole story from the beginning?”, asked Alfred because he didn't want to prejudge without knowing the whole story. “You promise me not to use anything in the game against my team?”, “Chocolate pudding.”, That was a code word among Al and Holly that means as much as: I will tell no one about what you will tell me now and I will never blackmail you with it but I will tell you my honest truth what I think about it.

So, Holly did tell him what her plan was, then what Cynthia and Abbey did, and then about the argument.
Alfred listened attentively and then said, “With all that planning and you being proud for that great plan of yours and as well that everybody seemed to like it, you got yourself far too invested in the game. So, you overreacted.”, he explained to her, “So, you misunderstood their intention: they only wanted to help, because Olive is four, Jane has to watch her, and the boys are fast.”, “But I had it under control! I-”, “Just because you caught Julian? Don’t bite off more than you can chew.”, interrupted Al his sister, but he was not done, “Holly you are in the wrong.”

Ouch! That hurts the ego. But he actually got it through to her thick skull.
PONG! Holly dropped her head on the table.

“I am the most terrible person on this planet.”, she said, but Al reassured her, “Nah. That’s my place.”, with that she pouted a little more, but then came the next question from her, “And what am I supposed to do now?”, but that made Alfred laugh, “That’s easy. Do that what I would never do: Regret something in your life and go apologize.”, she sighed,“That’s easier than done.”, “I know that’s why I never do it. But do you want to lose a friend over something like this?”, with that being said, he got a horrified look from Holly, “NO! Not Abbey! She is my best friend!”, “Then go now and say You are Soo- So- Sss… man you get what I mean.”, well Alfred was still physically unable to say sorry. He has that from their mother, who only can apologize by making food for you.

So, Holly stood up and walked back.

On the Open field
Charlotte looked down at Cynthia and tried to explain, “Imagine you make an effort for something, and everyone praises you for it and wants to do it, as you said. But get really invested. That’s why Holly can overreact sometimes.”, she adds, “It’s like the painting she did about seven years ago, everybody praised her, but then Al knocked over a glass? She had a tantrum after that.”, but to reassure Cynthia, “But her outbursts are always short-lived, and you did nothing actually wrong. You only tried to help.”

With the Boys
“Holly, I told you you were on timeout.”, said William to his daughter, “But I spoke to Alfred, and I want to apologize.” Now he was stunned, how did that rascal do it? Not even his wife can talk to Holly to see reason and calm down that fast.

Holly walked over to Abbey, “Hey, Abbey, listen I know now, that I totally overreacted, I got WAY too much into the game. I am sorry, Abbey. Can you forgive me?”

Abbey was standing next to her dad watching Holly and Alfred talking over at the park bench. Abbey felt bad for ruining Holly’s plan and felt like she should say a real apology too. This wasn’t just Holly’s fault in her eyes, but hers and Cynthia’s too. If they had just followed the plan in the first place Holly wouldn’t be so sad and mad right now. Abbey looked up at her father with tears in her eyes. She was scared she would lose Holly as a friend, because of how mad she sounded before she left. "Dad?" Abbey’s voice was shaking and you could her that she was about to cry. “yeah?" Abbey tried to not cry for a while before she finally asked "Do you think Holly hate me?" tears began running down her cheeks as she spoke. Her dad gave her a warm hug and said loud and clearly "Are you kidding me! She’s your best friend!" He slightly smiled at his daughter who was still trying her best not to cry. "She doesn’t hate you, I promise" Abbey hugged her father once again and smiled back at him.

With the girls
Jane had noticed that the game was paused and she told her three sons who was trying to take the flag she and Olive was protecting. They all understood that the best thing would be to go back to the open field and ask what had happened, so that’s what they did. They walked all together over to where Cynthia and Charlotte was.

On the open field
Cynthia understood the way Holly looked at the situation now. She still thought she had overreacted a bit, but since Holly was younger it was fine. "I understand. Hope we can work it out before the end of the day."

With the boys (Again)
Abbey turned to look at Holly. She hoped Holly didn’t notice, but you could see that she had been crying a little, but the tears were gone. "I’m sorry too, I shouldn’t have changed your plan" she quickly said after Holly had said her apology. "I forgive you!" she smiled hoping it could all just be forgotten.

Holly saw the tear tracks on her friend, and it broke her heart. I mean she did also cry, but seeing her best friend cried because of her… Now she was even more glad that Abbey had forgiven her, and she also hoped that they could let bygones be bygones. And because she was a hugger, she hugged Abbey.
“I will try to be better. I promise.” she said, but her father interrupted, “Don’t bite off more than you can chew, Holly, you could never control that temperament. From where did you even get that temper from?”

“If looks could kill.”, Holly whispered slightly annoyed and her eye twitching.

On the Open field
Alfred walked back to Julian with a grin, “Everything is back in order now.”, he said and saw how the others came from the girls base. “Did I miss something?”, he asked.

His mother was stunned when she saw what happened, “How the hell does the boy do it? Not even I can get Holly to get this calm again shortly after a tantrum like that.”, she was fuming, mostly because of jealousy.

With the boys (again)
“So, what now?”, Liam asked, “Just unpause the pause and give you a HeadStart?”, but Holly just looked at Abbey, “Well as long as Abbey still wants to play. I’m in.”

Abbey hugged Holly back. She was about to cry again this time, but happy tears of relief. She didn’t though, but if William hadn’t interrupted Holly then maybe a few tears would have come running down her cheeks. It was Holly’s hug that made her happy. It was then she knew she was forgiven and that it was all forgotten about.

On the open field
Julian was confused about the whole situation, but it was obvious something had happened between Holly and Abbey. "You talked to her? What had happened?" Julian asked curious. Before Alfred answered his questions he seemed to have noticed something. Julian turned around to look in the direction of the girl’s base, he then also noticed the others walking towards them out of the base. "Well if you did, then you’re not alone" Julian didn’t know what was going on over there neither.

With the boys (Again)
Steven was looking over at the others and had seemed to notice them leaving the girl’s base. Before he said anything Abbey answered William and Holly. "Won’t it be a bit hard starting the same round again? It will be hard to hide and stuff again when everyone sort of knows each others plans" Steven nodded before informing William that the others had left their base. "Jane, Olive, Charlotte, Cynthia and the boys have left the girl’s base. I agree with my daughter, I think it’s going to be hard starting this round again. We could just say it’s a tie and start another round?" he paused before suggesting another thing, "or we could play another game?"
