How Do I Get Down??
I've got this. I can do this. Of course I can do this...
Illowy swallowed hard as she carefully went through the motions, easily summoning her broom from the ground and mounting. It was always easy for her to get this far, it was the getting up in the air that had been troubling her all year. While she did perfectly well in all of her other classes, Flying quickly had become her downfall. She had to redeem herself soon before she risked failing the class altogether.
Her heart pounded in her chest as she tried to summon all the courage she possibly could.
Get it together, Magnard.
She kept thinking to herself. It took a couple tries to kick off, each try eating away at whatever courage she might've gathered, before she finally managed to get her feet off the ground. Her heart stopped beating all together, she was sure of it. Now, one should understand Illowy was not afraid of heights. She'd be the first to tell you it was a silly thing to fear. What she fear was a lot more dangerous... and that was falling.
The young Slytherin held onto the broom like a lifeline, "I've got this.... I've got this..." she kept whispering to herself as she rose higher... and higher... a little higher.... okay now she was having a problem. The child wavered a bit on her broom, climbing way higher then she was mentally prepared for, with no way in heaven or hell to remember how to get back down. Her breath kept hitching in her throat, as though her lungs couldn't remember how to work correctly. The girl was on her way to a near full on panic attack.
"Get me down..." she said firmly, as though trying to order for help, trying to sound like she had it together. There was no hope of keeping her tone, losing her composure as the fear and panic grew, gripping her heart and lungs like a steel fist, "Get. Me. Down. Getmedowngetmedowngetmedown, get me DOWN!"

How Do I Get Down??
"Get. Me. Down. Getmedowngetmedowngetmedown, get me DOWN!"
Annie heard a shout coming from behind her. She had decided to stay after her Herbology class to see if she could help with anything. Quickly, the girl turned around and spotted another girl, in what looked to be Slytherin robes, flying in the air on a broom. Annie halted and thought silently to herself. "Should I really go risk my life trying to save some idiotic Slytherin know-it-all.. Fine, FINE!" She took off running down as she heard another panicked scream.
Annie searched the grounds before spotting one of the practice broom students were given for Flying class. "How convinent.." She hummed before mounting the broom and rather carelessly and quickly shooting up into the air. If there was one thing Annie knew about brooms, they like a person who knows how to stay in control, this girl would not last long before the broom got dangerous. At best this girl could continue screaming and hold on as the rouge broom turned her this way and that. At worst, she falls off and breaks or damages a few bones or body parts from the height she's at.
The girl scanned the area to find the Slytherin madly holding onto the broom for dear life. Annie shot over to the girl on her own broom and in a few lengths she was next to the other girl on her broom. "Here. Give me your hand, I don't want you to get hurt." Annie called over to the other girl as she flew over and stopped to hover on her broom. She leaned forward and out stretched her hand to the girl.

How Do I Get Down??
In most any other situation, the Slytherin might've mentally groaned to herself about having to be resued by yet another Hufflepuff. How was it that they seemed to have some sort of Huffle-sense for when a Slytherin was in trouble. Right now, however, Illowy was just happy to have anyone with some competency on a broom coming for her.
The Hufflepuff seemed to glide on her broom with no fear or trouble, polar opposite to herself as Illowy clung to the wavering, jerking broom. For a moment, the child tore her eyes away from where they'd been glued to the hard ground stories below, and looked to the other girl. Even the small movement of turning her head to properly look at the girl seemed to terrify the girl, as though that small break of attention might be her doom.
Illowy gulped, loosening her grip ever so slightly, starting to take her hand away from the shaft of the broom to reach for the girl; until her broom jerked and wavered slightly, and Illowy quickly returned her deathgrip to her broom, terrified the demonic cleaning tool was going to buck her off to her death, "I can't," she whimpered, "I'll fall..."

How Do I Get Down??
Annie saw the frightened Slytherin give her a look over before trying to reach for her hand and shrinking back at the jerk of her broom. "I can't," "Look, you expect me to risk my arse to help you when you were the one to hop on a rouge broom stick without thinking!" A small frown appeared on the girl's face as she tried to keep her composure.
Annie sidled up to the girls' broom, ducking her head as the broom tried to knock her off her own. She muttered a quick curse word before scooting closer to the edge of her broom, making space for the panicked girl. "So here's what I want you to do, you need to get onto my broom, wrap your hands around my waist and hold on tight, don't look down just breathe, you'll do fine."
Annie coaxed the girl lightly, trying to soothe her. "I'll deal with the broom later, for now I just have to make sure this girl is safe." Avoiding another lashing from the broomstick, Annie patted the space on her broom. "You can trust me, just one swift movement and you'll be safely back on the ground in no time." She gave a soft smile, remaining somehow utterly calm during the whole situation. "If I get in trouble because of this, god forbid I do, I have a feeling this won't be the last time I see this girl.."

How Do I Get Down??
"It wasn't rouge when I first got on!" she argued back, granted her tone was as strong as it might've been if she were back on solid ground. After all this was hardly the time to be arguing, and the other girl seemed to agree as she leveled out her tone again, trying to keep the snake calm (even in spite of the completely mental broom trying to knock the Huffle down. Illowy would give the girl this; she was quick and brave for daring to inch back to her side again.
Illowy tried her best to focus on the girl's voice and memorize her instruction. Then the broom jerked again as though trying to swat her rescuer away again and the snake couldn't help but let out a short shriek until it steadied out again, the stranger still remaining at her side.
Moment of truth, just hop from one broom to the other. Easy-peasy. Carefully, Illowy eased a leg over until she was sitting on the side of the broom. By Merlin, all she wanted to do right now was throw up; that would have to wait though. Taking a deep breath, keeping her eyes solely on the yellow of the girl's robes, the child took a leap of faith as she lept onto the back of the girl's broom just as her own jerked up and flung itself around the air.
The blessed Hufflepuff became her new lifeline for the moment as she wrapped her arms around the girl's waist and clung to her, squeezing her eyes shut once more. That would be how she would stay until she felt her feet touch the ground, she decided, keen to not seen even and inch of distance between herself and the dirt ever again.

Just do it, Magnard. Just hope off the damn broom, she tried to coax herself. She sucked in a deep breath, squeezing her eyes shut as she carefully straightened herself up onto the broom instead of a cat-like crouch. Easy now, she eased the grip of one hand from the shaft and slowly, shakily reached a scarred hand to take the girl's, "Please, don't let me go..." she pleaded softly."Just one swift movement and you'll be safely back on the ground in no time."

How Do I Get Down??
Annie let out a small snort at the Slytherin's retort. "Yep, she's a Slytherin all right, a feisty but panicked one at that yet I see so much more than that behind her tough outer core she has a nice inner side to her.." She shook her head at the thought, why did that pop into her mind? The Hufflepuff inhaled sharply as the girl slowly reached out a hand to her. "Please, don't let me go..." Annie met her scared, shaking hand with a firm yet comforting grip.
She watched carefully, making sure the girl could handle the quick leap from one broom to the other. Luckily, the Slytherin had made it with one quick hop and then decided to literally cling onto Annie and squeeze the life out of her. "It's alright I got you, you made it, now let's get you down." She started to slowly descend, but not to slowly to make the girl stay up in the air too much longer, she already seemed petrified enough. The Hufflepuff exchanged kind and supportive words on their way down until her feet skimmed the grass.
Annie hopped off the broom, and offered a hand for support if the Slytherin was s little wobbly getting off the broom. "Alright, here's the deal I'm not going to go all mother hen on you, but what in Merlin's beard were you thinking?" She had a harsh tone and her eyes narrowed in anger, much unlike a Hufflepuff. The girl unclentched her fists which she unknowingly clenched together and rubbed her temples. Annie let out a sigh.
"Look, I'm sorry you were probably scared to death, are you hurt anywhere?" Her tone and gaze were visibly softer than before. She bent down to look for scratches or soar spots that could later turn into bruises. The Hufflepuff then looked up, her bright blue eyes meeting the other girl's stare. "By the way, my name's Annie Morgan, I guess you would have figured out I'm a Hufflepuff too by my robes huh? A Hufflepuff comes to a Slytherin's rescue isn't that odd? Surprise!" A hint of humor and sarcasm appeared in her voice as she rolled her eyes, the girl's traumatizing experience almost fully forgotten in her mind.

How Do I Get Down??
The Huffle seemed to have far easier control over a broom then Illowy was sure she would ever have as she eased them down the precious, glorious ground, doing her best to babble comforting words to her until they were finally out of the air. Even once her feet were finally down she was still reluctant to let go until the other girl finally dismounted. The snake gladly took her hand, still trembling as she climbed off, promptly allowing her knees to buckle as she plopped herself onto the ground in the wondrous, fantastic grass that might as well have been made from pure silk spun from the feathers of angels. That was how thankful she was to be back on the ground.
Naturally, it had to be ruined with a lecture as she gazed up the fussing badger. She narrowed her icy hues a bit, lips pursing nearly in a pout while she gathered her wit about her once more, waiting to speak until the girl's voice softened, "I'm fine." she muttered. Despite the girl's instance to not 'mother hen' her, that seemed to be exactly what she was to do as the girl bent to check her over, "I said I'm fine..." she spoke, trying to invoke as much confidence as she could; a difficult task to accomplish when your adrenaline was still rushing and voice shaking like a leaf in the frosty wind.

"Happens more often then you'd think..." she mumbled, her mind flashing to the many times a Hufflepuff had come to her aid. Illowy tugged on her own green trimmed robes, trying to straighten them out before pulling her sleeves low on her hands. She was, admittedly, embarrassed. It seemed she was always embarrassing herself each time she dared mount a broom. It wasn't her fault the horrible things were so bloody difficult to control. Just as well, even her own mother never used a broom, opting to either walk, take a train, or use the floo network whenever they needed to be someplace. Illowy was quite content with all of those way to travel."A Hufflepuff comes to a Slytherin's rescue isn't that odd? Surprise!"

How Do I Get Down??
Hey there, sorry for my absence for a week. My summer schedule has become super packed and I promise to try to reply when I can. I have had to specifically re-write this part in the RP several times due to some technical difficulties. Also, how much longer do you think we could/should continue this RP for? Thanks for your understanding! (hopefully)
Annie watched in slight amusement at the Slytherin's reaction when she made it to the ground. Was she that traumatized by the whole event that just occurred? She shrugged off her thoughts and returned her gaze to the girl. Her voice trembled even through her attempts to stay calm and be firm when speaking to Annie. "I'm fine." The Hufflepuff slowly backed off, her hands held up in mock surrender as if saying 'don't hurt me please!' Annie guiltily rubbed her neck as the realization hit her about her whole 'mother hen' fiasco.
She blinked slowly as the girl spoke again, this time in a much quieter tone. "Happens more often then you'd think..." Annie nodded her head slowly, listening to the slightly embarrassed girl. "So you've done things like this before, that's not necessarily a bad thing." She furrowed her eyebrows for a second before whistling one loud, clear note. On command, the crazy broom still flying in the air dived down and loyally dropped in her outstretched hand. "I can see your determination and I'm no courageous Gryfindor, but I'll teach you as long as you promise to be safe and follow my lead." Annie grinned. "So how about it Miss..?" She waited for the girl to fill in the blank with her name, after all she had said her's and it was polite to know her name in return. Plus, she was dying to stop refering to the girl as 'the Slytherin girl'.

How Do I Get Down??
Illowy peered up at the girl as she babbled on, "No. I don't ride brooms." she said flatly, "I don't ride, my mother doesn't ride, my grandmother doesn't ride, and this is the most ridiculous class I've ever had to take." she spoke as the girl whistled crisp and clear, ordering the rouge broom back to her. Show off, she thought to herself. Why should such an outdated style of travel be required to learn this day in age? After all, it wasn't a skill she'd ever use, it was terrifying and it was silly.
Annie offered out her hand to her, of which the snake refused, climbing to her feet once more, "I'm not silly, I know how to properly fly a broom." the girl grumbled, "Those bloody bundles of over-sized toothpicks just have a mind of their own." Illowy liked doing well in classes. Correction, she liked excelling in classes. The girl was constantly studying, constantly working and trying to make herself the best witch possible. Flying had completely alluded her, though. Of course she knew all of the ins and outs of the class and the material, but it was as though the moment she mounted her broom, everything she knew went out the window and the thing would just do whatever it wanted and wouldn't mind to anything she tried to get it to do.
