A bad day continued
@Illowy Magnard | @Kyle Derook | @Marla QuinlanLike a deer in the headlights, his eyes widened and he immediately flinched. It was a familiar voice, tinged with firm warning. This was bad, no, this was terrible."Isaac."
Dia. de na rudaí go léir sa domhan ..
god, anything but this.
His mother's old words blasted through his head as he saw the dark-haired girl approach, pale eyes drinking in every detail of the scene. Her gaze lingered on the blood spots splattering Marla's cheek, the feral-boy's haggard look, and his face. His heart turned to ice beneath her stare.
It was Illowy.
She then approached the feral-boy, concern clouding her gaze. Her voice grew a bit softer as she leaned towards him.
The words sent an electric shock down his spine. Ky? How on earth did she know this boy? He never thought that Illowy was the type to associate with people like that. At her tone of concern, he couldn't help but feel a little slighted and the tiniest bit jealous. But he knew the emotion was stupid and irrational. The boy looked awful, with his sheet-white skin and dull eyes, and if Illowy cared for him, then she'd want to make sure that he was okay."Ky, what is going on. What's wrong?"
That was all it was. That was all it could be.
Just a friend concerned for another friend.
Then Marla piped up, sounding desperate amidst the group. He never knew her to sound so scared.
Calm down? He'd calm down the moment the boy was punished. Marla had forgiven him for the punch, but why? Did everyone secretly love this boy to death, eager to ignore all of his wrongs? It was insanity. And worse yet, he hadn't even given a single explanation on why he was so aggressive."Isaac, please calm down. It's over with." She begged in an attempt to prevent further escalating of the situation. Her red hair flew about her face, vibrant as the blood staining her cheek.
First Illowy, and now Marla. He had no clue what was going on, but it was not helping matters. All he wanted was a simple word from the boy, even an old excuse would do the job. Like 'sorry, I just woke up on the wrong side of the bed,' or 'my cat died.' Anything.
The feral-boy - Ky or something - began to speak suddenly, voice becoming more and more similar to a growl. His temper flared the second the boy mentioned putting him in the ground. So that was the way he wanted to play, huh?”If everyone could just leave me alone...I’ll be fine. All I’ve been trying to do is get away from people and you all just won’t take the damn hint.” he points to Marla’s face, to the singes on their cloths and the cuts on his knuckles ”this is cause people won’t leave me alone. And you” he points at Issac ”I will put you in the ground if you threaten me again”
Back at his old school, he was a joyous and mischievous kid, or at least in front of the teachers. But behind playground trees and swing sets, no one appreciated the presence of the scruffy-haired kid with too many ideas. No one wanted him around. And they liked pushing him down to prove it, scratching and biting and pulling his hair.
Ky or whoever he was, was just another one of those kids, he realized bitterly. One of those boys that everyone loved and no one cared to contradict, who used his fists. And now, he was threatening to kill Isaac, to kill him.
The blood roared in his ears as he stared at Ky again, this time looking almost unhinged. Psycho. He had it with the threats. He had it with being ignored, and pleaded to. Every bit of rage surged up inside of him, and his heart pounded hard.
"You wanna try it you pathetic little shit?" he hissed lowly, fists clenching at his sides. "I'll knock you to hell."
His grey eyes shone with an unnatural light like knife-sharp steel. They bored into the feral-kid. Every muscle tensed, he was instants away from socking his teeth out. He'd enjoy watching this boy slammed into the ground. He deserved it.
What?"Isaac, go..." she pressed her lips in a soft line, trying to keep her voice calm and level as she touched a hand to the curly haired boy's chest, trying to gently urge him to back off.
His expression shifted to one of complete and utter shock. Go? Leave?
Isaac wasn't thinking right, straight, sensibly. But when she touched him, he staggered back as if it were a blow. Agony split inside of him, and his breathing hitched. So that was how it was going to be. Illowy wanted to stay with Ky and help him, she was on his side.
His face was flushed feverishly and he sent Ky another look full of resentment. What made him so special so that everyone was willing to forgive him, especially Illowy? What did he have?
As quickly as it had come, all of his anger seemed to retreat like a passing storm. His face returned to a normal hue, if not paler than usual, and his breathing was perfectly steady. Not a word escaped from his mouth. It was a different sort of strange. Glassy and expressionless, his hand roughly scratched at his arm before dropping to his side."...Please." she added softly, "Just... just go and take her," she nodded towards Marla, "to get patched up and I'll come find you later. I can handle this. Okay?"
That's fine. Should've known this would happen.
His gaze darted to Ky briefly, assessing whether or not he'd have to dodge an attack. But fortunately, none came at the moment. The boy was restraining himself well enough.
Afterwards, he looked Marla over, examining her wounds. They were bruising a little, turning a brackish shade of purple against her face. But it was nothing the infirmary couldn't fix. Magic and potions could heal so many scrapes, scratches and bruises, that it wasn't an issue.
"Let's go to the Infirmary and fix you up." he told Marla, indifference staining his words. "Unless you want to stay here. Be my guest." He added, already envisioning her and Illowy alone with Ky. It was a sickening thought.
Either way, Marla would leave with him, or he'd go without her. It didn't matter. Nothing did.

A bad day continued
He backed away at her touch... there was a look in his eyes as though she'd just completely turned her back on him and betrayed him; abandoning whatever it was that was between them to take the Kyle side. She wished there was a moment right now to explain that this wasn't about sides, that this wasn't a decision for or against either of them. If anything, it was what little she felt she could do to protect them both at the same time.
Even with that being the case, Isaac's look still tore into her after she pleaded with him once more to leave and take Marla with him. Such a cold look, so stoic and done with entertaining the situation. It sent a pang of guilt through her heart. He didn't say anything to her, not even to confirm if he'd allow her to find him later.
He simply turned to Marla, tone as cold as his expression. Her eyes searched for his, though she was unsure what she was even looking for. Forgiveness? Understanding? With emotions so high right now, she doubted she would find it. Just as well, now wasn't the time to keep the tension going.
You never cause a scene, you never invoke a fight. But if you find yourself involved, you best finish it.
Her mother's words rang in her ears, and she'd obey.
"I'll find you in a bit, Isaac..." she found herself repeating, her tone almost asking permission more then informing him, hoping to get some kind of response.
She had to tend to her cousin first though, try to reel him back to his normal self before he went on a rampage of the entire school. Illowy turned back to Kyle, gently resting her hands on either of his arms, trying to urge him to turn around and walk with her in the other direction. She could feel how tense is muscles were, as though he was giving everything he had to keep holding himself back, "C'mon, we'll go walk and get some air and everyone can just cool down."

A bad day continued
Isaac's spell of rage seemed to be watered down by the presence of the pale girl, which put her a bit at ease. Yes, she wouldn't mind seeing Kyle's teeth getting knocked out... But a fight would make things worse. Things in the bathroom had gone terrible enough, and the last thing that she wanted was for it to become more violent. Everything was a blur, at least until she heard Kyle's words that put her in a complete frenzy.
"I will put you in the ground if you threaten me again," He hung the words over Isaacs head as they locked eyes, his resembling a dancing fire in a storm. Her jaw locked as she tried to hold back the several brutal things that she wanted to scream at Kyle's face, but her efforts were futile as she exploded into fiery rage.
"Haven't you done enough?!" She yelled so violently that everyone occupying the corridor either looked at them, or ran towards the situation to see what was going on. "You're right. Everyone is just fine without you. Acting like a rabid animal. Threatening Isaac. Punching the fucking wall. Punching me! And you can't even explain yourself. Goddamn lunatic." She shrieked, her breaths becoming heavy from shouting so loud. Her throat stung with the residue of her screams as tears inched towards falling down her face. Isaac suggested that they go to the infirmary, but she shook her head. She needed to stay strong. Strong enough that she could wait until getting to her dorm to cry. She wasn't going to do this in front of everyone. No way.
"I'm fine." She snapped, her teeth gritted together,"I'm going back to the common room. This is nothing." Marla murmured the last part and stormed off, hands balled in fists.
Marla leaves the thread. Unless somebody tries to bring her back, which will probably result in a fight/shouting match.
"your loss, baby !!"

"You're right. Everyone is just fine without you. Acting like a rabid animal. Threatening Isaac. Punching the fucking wall. Punching me! And you can't even explain yourself. Goddamn lunatic."
Marla’s words hit him hard. Each cutting deeper than the last. Each word bouncing around inside his head. But two words in particular really hit him hard, so hard he felt his chest tighten.
Rabid Animal
If she only knew the half of it. Knew the curse that dan through his blood, knew the hell he was going to experience any night. If only she knew that her own anger and hate towards him was nothing compared to what he felt towards himself. He was a rabid animal. He was worse even...he was a monster.
He hung his head in silence as she and the boy left. Any fire he had in him before was smothered by the crushing truth about who and what he was. He wanted nothing more than to just find a spot to sit alone, away from all the normal people.
Then his cousin came back and turned him to guide him away from where he was planted. She wanted to talk. He knew she meant well, But this wasn’t something he could talk about. There was no making this better. He just had to endure until the next full moon and then he would be back to his normal self...until inevitably the full moon came for him once again ”I appreciate what you are trying to do Magpie...but honestly. I just need to be alone”

A bad day continued
What a sight this must've been to witness; three Gryffindor's in a screaming match, half a hair's width away from a mini mosh pit with one another, and a lone Slytherin trying to calm the situation down.
For a moment, Illowy nearly felt herself lose her composure when Marla began yelling as well; screaming at the top of her lungs. The feeling of wrath came not from take one side over the other, not believing Kyle was in the right --she certainly didn't agree with the chaos that had ensured in his wake-- but purely from the need to be loyal to her family, to defend him. Something wasn't right, Kyle wasn't being himself in the slightest, and for all she knew it might've not even been something within his control. What if he was jinxed or cursed or sick? Until she knew what the root of the matter was, she'd have to protect her loyalties.
Illowy kept her anger in check though, knowing it would do no good to start screaming back as the red head stormed off. The girl looked back at her cousin, who now looked defeated. Truthfully, she hadn't expected him to want to be alone from her as well, "Ky, please let me help you." she spoke gently, "This isn't like you at all." pale eyes tried to search his for some kind of explanation, "You can tell me anything, Kyle. Whatever is going on, its going to be okay, and we're going to get it sorted." she pleaded.
Perhaps she ought to tread lightly knowing how volatile the situation could be if she wasn't careful. Part of her hoped that the fact they were family would keep him from doing anything that might hurt her. Either way, she'd be incapacitated before she'd willingly leave him behind.

A bad day continued
Kyle looked at his cousin with tired eyes. He wanted to tell her what was wrong just so she could understand and not think he was just a complete ass. There was no real rational explanation that explained why he looked so sick and why he was acting like such a...rabid animal...
He clenched his eyes shut and shook his head. No, he couldn’t tell her the truth, atleast not now. She would worry, she would pity and she would try to help. But there was no helping this situation. He could never be helped. As long as the curse coursed through his veins he would always suffer. He would always be a cursed being that was one bad night away from killing someone he cared about. If he didn’t have friends or loved ones...then there’s that many less people he can hurt. This was going to be painful...but it was for the best. Or atleast, Kyle very much hoped it was.
He took a breath and his brow furrowed some as he scowled slightly ”what’s wrong is none of your business! I said I’m fine so go find some other lame duck to look after. Keep yourself out of the medical wing for a few months then maybe you can try to fix other people’s problems.” there was a venom in his voice and he put his hands in his pockets as he turned his back on his cousin, not wanting to see if he hurt her or not

A bad day continued
Illowy wasn't often left speechless, but in this moment, any sense escaped her. This was her cousin right? It looked like Ky, his voice sounded like Ky... but never had he ever taken an actual personal jab at her. Even in their worst fights. Especially not when the metaphorical wound was still fresh, and he knew it would upset her. What the hell was his problem? Why was he trying to push her away again?
All of her mother's recitations about keeping emotions in check, not causing a scene, it was all slipping from her fingers as frustration, anger, and maybe even a little bit of hurt, started bubbling to the surface, "Have you taken the full bloody skip 'round the bend er'somethin'?" she asked, dropping her more proper way of speaking that her mother drilled into her and allowing the natural thickness of her own accent emerge. Right now, acting correctly was the least of her worries.
Absentmindedly, the girl pulled down on the sleeves of her robe and wrapped her arms around herself as though trying to hide her bandaged arms from criticism. The whole reason she'd been in the hospital wing in the first place was because she was protecting someone she barely knew; and she was more then ready to go back if it meant protecting someone she loved.
Illowy wasn't shook off that easily. She was stubborn, and it was still up for debate whether it would serve her well or not this instant, "Don't you bloody dare talk at me like that when you don't even know the full story. I've seen far scarier things then yer temper, an' if you think you can jus' push me away like that, you've got another thing comin'." she barked, "What about ev'rythin' you said, that we have eachother's backs? Was tha'tall just shite?" the girl questioned. Her heart pounded in her chest as she dared to move at his side, wanting to see his face, his eyes, to try to figure some hint as to why he would behave so coldly to her.
Though her cheeks might've been red with frustration, there was nothing she could do to hide the hurt and worry in her pale eyes. Whatever it was, it must've been pretty terrible for him to be acting like this. The Slytherin tried once more with a softer voice, more in check, more in control, "We're family, Ky. No matter what." she spoke, "And family doesn't turn its back on each other.... and it doesn't matter what you say to me or what you do, I wouldn't ever even think about turning my back on you." she meant her words genuinely, praying they might reach him.
Illowy didn't have it in her to turn her back on anyone she cared about. The very few people in her life that she cared about, they were everything to her. To even imagine forcing them out of her life for any reason seemed impossible; and she would give everything she had, life and magic and all, to help them and to keep them safe.
