This was a special day.
Not the day itself- today was a completely normal Sunday of the month of September and of the year 2024. No. It was the special event that made this completely normal day- special.
Elisa Wagner, a completely normal student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, was hurrying along a corridor in the castle's second floor. Today, her hair had been hastily tied up into a messy low bun. That was not totally normal for this particular girl, since she rarely tied her hair.
The girl was carrying a rather stuffed bag under her arms, and was walking towards the study room at a considerable pace. She opened the door and entered the room, which was as she expected- empty. Of course, that was considerably normal as well, since nobody in their right mind (apart from the students who were studying for any Nastily Exhausting Wizarding Tests) would study on a sunny, Sunday morning.
Elisa set the bag on a table and took out all the things in it. There were a few bottles of paint, a couple paint brushes, and some new badges. Those badges were of a dull, grey colour, because they were meant to be painted.
Now, one may be wondering, what exactly made this day special, apart from the girl's unusual hairstyle and the curious components of the bag? The answer would be unravelled as the girl took out a big, long piece of paper. It was a banner, actually, which said in big, brown letters:
Tʜᴇ Sᴏᴄɪᴇᴛʏ ғᴏʀ ᴛʜᴇ Pʀᴏᴍᴏᴛɪᴏɴ ᴏғ Eʟғɪsʜ Wᴇʟғᴀʀᴇ - 1sᴛ Mᴇᴇᴛɪɴɢ.
And this girl- Elisa Wagner, happened to be the host of this very first S.P.E.W meeting.
Having emptied out the bag, she walked to the study room door, and standing there, she waited for the others to arrive.
Hello everyone! Welcome to the very first meeting of S.P.E.W! Since we will be making badges, those who already have a badge bought via Zonko's Joke Shop can either pretend you don't have one yet, decorate/make changes to the one you already have, or simply not participate in the badge making activity. After all, this meeting's principal purpose is to get the members to meet each other and discuss their feelings on elves' rights
For those who don't own an S.P.E.W badge in their trunk (you haven't bought it at Zonko's), you will be gifted one at the end of this meeting
This is a S.P.E.W club activity. Go to the club here

enter ─────Ah, Sunday. Ruby had taken the opportunity to sleep in a bit longer than usual. It had been some busy first weeks, and the extra bit of sleep was welcome. She heard no sounds coming from the room, and she guessed her friends were already up and had left her to sleep. Then she remembered she did have something to do today, and the nerves started to race through her body. She had joined this club, the Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare, or S.P.E.W. for short. Today was their first meeting, and the reason she was so nervous is that she didn’t really know anybody in that club. No doubt the others students would be friendly and all, but still she felt a bit uneasy about it.
As she glanced at the clock, she decided it was time to get up and go for a quick breakfast, so she wouldn’t be late for their meeting. She picked out some comfy but elegant looking clothes and tied her hair in a bun. She then went down to the Great Hall for some breakfast.
After breakfast Ruby was walking through the corridors, heading for the study room. She grabbed hold of the badge in her pocket. The letter of the meeting said they would make or enhance their badges. That sounded fun. She had already purchased one, but it could use some improvement. She reached the corridor, but it was empty, so she had to enter by herself. She knocked at the door, and slowly pushed it open. She was greeted by a nice looking girl her age, with long brown hair. She had been standing there, waiting. Hi, I’m Ruby. Is this the place for the meeting? Were you waiting for me? She let her eyes scan the room and saw the girl had set everything up for their meeting. You must be Elisa, am I right? It looks great, thank you for this initiative. We’re going to have so much fun painting these badges. She smiled at the other girl.

A First Meeting

Vale would return to another school year with her typical (or rather atypical) antics. It wasn't her first club meeting either.
She heard of S.P.E.W., and to what it entrailed. The pureblood families that used to come over and visit the Ashwood household would question the lack of house elves. The question, however, was rare as it is given they had more concerned questions to ask.
The Ashwoods didn't keep house elves. Vale didn't like the idea of house elves simply because their job would be removing the dust she liked very much in the house.
She also didn't like the idea of telling someone what to do. None of her living family members did. The concept was too mind-boggling for an Ashwood. And Vale was used to seeing various beings lurk into her home, some with disturbing presences of their own. Vale couldn't imagine having such beings doing her very laundry. Why would people even need others to do their own work? Vale can collect cockroaches for her pet spider just fine on her own.
Vale came to the room, heaving a large sack of questionable origins into the room. She panted, cracking her back and looked around. "Am I too late?" She scanned the area again before shaking her dreadlocks to awake a certain creature in her hair. "Familia! Count how many there are!" Vale moved her hand to grab a giant, brown spider before gently letting it seek through the sack she had. She fixed her hair as she moved to drag the sack further into the room.
Vale made a sigh of relief, "Well hello fellow murderers, and fiends! It is I, Vale Ashwood! May all your enemies run in fear as you plan for your next murder!" Vale made an exaggerated bow before looking around the room haphazardly. "Okay! Don't worry about any material! I got it! Familia!" Vale stretched for a short moment, searching through the sack to find the brown spider that would hurry to return back to her very dreadlocks. Vale rubbed her hands together, crackling.
"Okay Familia! How many is there?" Vale waited for the spider to return to her shoulder. Waiting, for a small period to realize that Familia was doing nothing. "Don't worry girl, you're still in training." Vale raised her arms up with a smile, "Fellow killers! I have brought...socks!"
She hurried into the sack to reveal a dirty, unwashed sock. "I have spent years collecting these from unsuspecting peers! We, my wonderous partners in crime, can already begin phase one of our devious plan! Give them, the socks!" Vale let out an ambitious crackle.
She stopped, looking to see a table filled with gray badges. She stood in place, staring at the table before recalling something in mind. "Oh, we paint badges today! Silly me. How dark is your darkest black?" Vale dropped the sack of musty socks where they were as if they meant nothing, eagerly moving to sit at the table and began to paint slobbily a badge already. She scrunched her eyebrows, concentrating greatly on her new plan at hand.

Holly got up from bed, her hair tangled. She looked over at the note she had on her nightstand. S.P.E.W meeting today. DO NOT MISS. Holly instantly got up, getting ready, brushing her hair and putting it in a ponytail. Rare occasion that happens. She was wearing black sweatpants with the Hufflepuff crest on the right pant leg, a light blue t-shirt and a white cardigan. She got cold easily, which wasn't always really good. Her shoes were black and white sneakers. She headed down to the study room, a bag over her shoulder. It mostly contained parchment and a few paintbrushes. She carried paintbrushes with her everywhere for some reason. She opened the door and saw just 3 other people in the room, which she was sure was some of the other Society of the Promotion of Elfish Welfare club, also known as S.P.E.W. She was used to saying titles in full since she used to read to kids at her parent's bakery when she was there. They always had 5-10 year old kids at their bakery, sometimes more. Some of the employees who were on break would also come and watch and occasionally make little puppets quickly and make a puppet show for the story to entertain them. It was a sweet sight. "Oh, hey! Is this the S.P.E.W meeting? I'm pretty sure we were painting badges today, but I'm not that sure. My memory still sucks like usual." Holly said.
Sorry I'm a tad bit late on here, I've been super busy with dance and school work.

Elisa didn't have to wait long. Soon enough, a blond haired girl turned up. Elisa had seen this girl before- she was also a second year, in the house of Hufflepuff, it seemed. Ruby, the girl's name was, she introduced herself. With her quill, Elisa put a checkmark next to 'Ruby Night' in her list of members.
"Hi Ruby, nice to meet you! You've come to the correct place- and you're a few minutes early, in fact." Elisa said, glancing at the clock on the wall. "The meeting starts at ten- we'll wait for a few others to arrive and we'll start!"
Elisa had barely finished her sentence when another person came. The newcomer walked directly to one of the many tables and set a large sack on it. Elisa couldn't help but stare at this girl. She was wearing long, black dreadlocks and held a majestic air around her. This was the kind of person who get themselves imprinted in your memory- they are so peculiar and different from others that it was very hard to forget them.
"Oh no- you're not late, don't worry." Elisa finally managed to say. The new girl didn't seem to be worrying though, because the next second she took out a full size, giant brown spider out of- her hair!
Elisa took a small step backwards, eyes wide in horror. Realising what she was doing, she quickly softened expression, and was just about to say something when this girl spoke. She introduced herself in a very special way, saying something about murderers and enemies and taking a deep bow at the end.
Elisa grinned awkwardly, "Well... It's nice to meet you, Vale! I'm Elisa, Elisa Wagner, if you didn't know." Elisa said while putting a checkmark next to the name, 'Vale Ashwood'.
Elisa was further worried when Vale asked the spider on her shoulder to 'count how many there are', whatever that would mean... The mystery was solved when Vale took out a rather dirty sock from her bag- apparently she had thought they would be giving socks to House Elves.
The Slytherin was about to speak, when she was interrupted by someone entering the room. She turned to see a young Hufflepuff walk in.
"Yes, this the S.P.E.W meeting, and we are painting badges today! I'm Elisa, nice to meet you! You're... Holly Elren, is that right?" Elisa asked, checking her list.
OOC Notes: No worries Holly, you aren't late at all! In fact, you're just in time (IC)![]()
Also, I'm waiting to see if other members come and then we'll start with the activities! Thank you all for joining!

A First Meeting
Altar was feeling confident for once. House elf rights was something he could focus on, in addition to the Society, his Reaserch... Wait, how congested was his timetable already? No matter. Altar had read more than enough to know about the appalling lives of Elves, and how some pure-bloods accepted this shocking treatment. they accepted it. He just couldn't fathom how those people could sleep at night. He walked into the Study Room and noted the banner on there. The name was actually going to have been Stop the Outrageous Abuse of Our Fellow Magical Creatures and Campaign for a Change in Their Legal Status (SOAOFMCCCTLS) but founder Hermione Granger decided it wouldn't fit on a badge.
"Wait..." said part of his subconscious questioningly, "How did I even find that out?"
He ignored that thought as he made his way past the door into the room. They seemed to be painting badges... He suddenly felt very self-conscious regarding the absence of one on his Purple shirt. Yes, he was wearing solid purple today. Problem? He sat down on a vacant chair, and, feeling nervous, introduced himself. Man, where had his confidence gone...
"Hi, I'm Altar. Altar Lace, that is - pleased to meet you all. Is it okay if I sit here? I heard about this meeting and couldn't resist - the amount of rights Elves have, it's frankly ludicrous considering the Rights movements across England... Is it Okay if I take a badge?"
He slid a badge towards himself as if clarifying, while feeling stupid. He must look so inexperienced...

Everybody was settling down, pulling out chairs and grabbing badges already. Elisa smiled at herself. This meeting is starting well! she thought, a little grin on her lips. If Elisa was good at anything, it wasn't leadership- at least, so it seemed before she took on the role of S.P.E.W leader.
Turning back towards the open door, she saw a boy come in. She greeted him with a welcoming smile. Her eyes followed the boy as he went to sit down at a table.
"Hello Altar!" Elisa said, checking the name off in her list, "Yes, we're painting badges today- please take one!"
Then, glancing at the clock on the wall, she walked up front to the blackboard, took a deep breath, and began her speech, addressing all the members in the room.
"Hello everyone! Welcome the Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare's very first meeting! I'm Elisa, Elisa Wagner, if you didn't know, and I'm the new club leader. Before anything, I'd like to thank each and every one of you for coming - it really means a lot to me."
"Today, we'll be painting badges, as I'm sure all of you know - but the main purpose of this meeting is just to get to know each other and discuss our ideas about house elves and how we could improve their rights."
While speaking, Elisa took a chalk and wrote down what she said on the blackboard.
"Now, you can all find a seat, if you haven't already, and you can each take a badge. The paints are over there - serve yourself!"
Smiling at everyone, Elisa stepped down and pulled out a random chair at a table, and sat down, taking a badge herself.
The meeting has officially started! Feel free to interact with other members and discuss your (your character's) feelings about elf rights!

enter ─────A few others had arrived to the meeting after Ruby. She hadn’t met any of them, and felt a bit shy and kept to herself for a moment. She was intimidated by Vale as she entered the room, but tried not to show it too much. But as the girl took out a whole bunch of socks, she couldn’t help but let go a little laugh. Maybe this girl wasn’t so bad as she seemed, but she wouldn’t want to go very close to that big spider or the big pile of socks. From the looks of it, they weren’t clean socks, and as the girl said she spend years retrieving them, she wouldn’t want to go near the smell of them.
She had waited for Elisa to give them a proper welcome, before engaging in the meeting. She followed Elisa’s example and took a seat at the table. She looked around at the other members, who were already choosing out their paint. Not wanting to stay behind, she took out her own SPEW badge she purchased a while ago as she had registered for this club. She took a paintbrush and some paints and started working on it. She would go for some flowery theme, as it suited her current mood.
As she was sitting closest to Holly, she turned towards the girl after a while. Hi, Holly was it? I’m Ruby. Your badge looks great already. Why did you decide to join this club? She hoped she hadn’t scared the girl of too quickly by asking this. As she waited for the response, she finished one of the flowers she was painting on her badge.

Hi, Holly was it? I'm Ruby. Your badge looks great already. Why did you decide to join this club? Ruby asked. "Oh, nice to meet you. Thanks, yours looks very good. I mostly decided to join because hearing how badly elves are treated, they honestly deserve better." Holly said. I really hope that didn't sound stupid. Holly thought. She had finished painting a somewhat simple but complex looking starry part of one of the letters before, so it was drying. One piece of stray hair was hanging to the side, the piece being part of her bangs and looking like an orange-ish color in the lighting. She had a tendency of leaving at least a couple of stray hairs in her face, no matter how much it might annoy her, which it usually didn't. She had a tendency of overthinking too. A lot. You'd be surprised how stressed she gets just about spelling mistakes. She had a couple of paints, which were mainly blue, white, black and yellow. She made weird color combos sometimes, but they always somehow worked out. Holly glanced up at people who entered, but that didn't seem like many people. She didn't really mind that though, as she was a little too focused on badges and making sure she didn't mess up well, anything.
Note: Dude, I suck. I'm so sorry for not replying for a little while, I've been busy with schoolwork and dance and finding dance costumes and figuring out basically anything dance related.

Karina had just walked from Hogsmeade. It was snowing outside, like never before. Karina was soaking wet, and was almost late for a meeting. She took a few moments to acknowledge her newly bought badge, which she had to wear in order to be apart of the The Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare (or S.P.E.W.).Outfit:Reducio
The meeting had started and Karina was going to be late. It wasn't her fault that it was snowing outside, and that's what slowed her process. Karina walked up the stairs, trying to make it to the second floor without slipping on her wet shoes.
She almost made it, when suddenly, she heard a giggle. Karina turned around, thinking it was some first year behind her, but no one was there. She was 4 minutes late already.
She rushed into the study room, and pushed open the door. There stood Elisa Wagner, saying things and writing things on a blackboard.
"Now, you can all find a seat, if you haven't already, and you can each take a badge. The paints are over there - serve yourself!"
"Hello, sorry I'm late, it was snowing outside and I had to make it to Hogsmeade in time. "
Karina hated making bad 1st impressions. She was already late, and had disrupted the class by her loud voice.
Karina walked silently towards an empty chair and desk in the farthest corner of the room. She was so embarrassed.
She noticed a few students working. Their badges were coming in great! But Karina's on the other hand was very sloppy. She was still worried about the fact that she had been late to this meeting.
"That badge is turning out wonderful. I don't think we've met before, I'm Karina."
She was looking at 2 girls talking. They both were very pretty. And they must have been 1st years. Or maybe one of them was a 2nd year. Judging the girls' robes, they were both in Hufflepuff. One thing that Karina was good at, was making friends with anyone. She looked blankly at the girls, trying to forget about the fact she was late.
