The Runaway Niffler
@Illowy Magnard
Airlia was walking out of class when she got left behind by her friends. They didn't abandon her or anything, she just stopped walking when she heard a sound and told them she would catch up later.
The sound Airlia had heard and recognized were two galleons hitting each other. It was coming from around the corner and as Airlia treaded closer, holding her study books to her chest she saw a galleon rolling along the floor from around the corner and hit her shoe.
Airlia bent down to pick up the golden coin and felt that it was warm to the touch. Someone must have just had the coin in their hands.
"I think you lost one." Airlia called out and rounded the corner to bring the coin back to its owner. Only there was no one there... "Hello? You dropped a galleon." Airlia said, hearing her voice echo along the halls as she awaited a response of a student returning to their lost money. But no one seemed to hear her and the halls were empty.
Hearing a shuffle Airlia looked down on the floor only to see a cute fuzzy lump on the floor. The creature looking up at Airlia with big, brown eyes had a long snout that resembled that of a platypus. It was a round, plump creature that looked like it was harmless.
"Well hello." Airlia said. "It this yours?" She held up the galleon and instantly the creature dropped a silver-colored yet cheap bobby pin it had been holding
The creature shuffled up, grabbed onto Airlia's stockings and with surprising speed and agileness made it's way to Airlia's shoulder. "Here you go." Airlia said and handed the galleon to the creature that happily took it into its possession.
When Airlia heard steps running towards her, the niffler made its haste way back on the floor and shuffled away like a thief lurking in the shadows. Suddenly Airlia felt like the bobby pin and galleon had not been the creatures after all...

This took so much longer then I meant for it to take, I'm so so sooooooo sorry
It had been a fairly hetic day for Illowy. For the life of her, she hadn't been able to catch up her day after already starting off running late for breakfast. From there on her day just seemed to keep going down hill. At one point, as the day had started coming to an end, the child was trying to salvage the wild frizz of confused half-curls on her head. Originally, the herculean task had started in the girl's bathroom. Her new, shiny hair pins laid out on the sink so she could easily access them to try to pin back her hair and make it look as presentable as possible; the recent rain and humidity having down absolutely nothing to help.
As she watched herself in the mirror, she heard something drop onto the stone floor. Illowy paused, looking around herself, her heart beating hard for a moment. Thoughts of the creature she'd seen in the Forbidden Forest were still very much ingrained in her, and kept her very well on edge much of the time. The fear that it would pop up at any moment was ever present... She'd have sworn she was there alone, but upon finding nothing in her immediate line of vision, she returned to her work. Then came the odd chirp and the scurrying once more, "Hello?" she called, now abandoning her station at the mirror to investigate. She wasn't away long however before she heard the chirp behind her as the soft sound of pins dropping quickly caught her attention. Spinning around, she caught sight of the silly beast, "Hey!"
All prior worries and fears were forgotten then and there. The, admittedly adorable, creature looked at her from the sink like a deer in headlights before hopping back down to the floor, collecting its new found treasure in a flash and making a break for the door, "Hey wait!" she cried, rushing to grab her things and give chase.
It didn't take long for the brown fluff ball to loose her, but she was hardly about to give up now.
She sprinted down the corridors, determined to find the little thief. As she approached the abandoned toilets, she slid a few inches as she came to a dead stop, before throwing open the door. All she found, however, was another student, standing there alone.
What a sight the Slytherin must've been; mess of long, dark hair around her shoulders that was unsure if it wanted to curl, wave or frizz, her chest heaving, and uniform out of sorts from running. Illowy smothered a cough into the sleeve of her robe, lungs still not fully recovered from the events of the Ball, leaving her not quite in the position to be exerting herself so hard. For her, that was the last thing on her mind.
"Have you...seen... a stupidly cute... little pick pocket... in here?" she panted and wheezed, "Dark fur... beady eyes... 'bout this big." she gave an approximate measurement of size with her hands.

I was told I was dangerous. When I asked why, they said, "Because you don't need anyone." That's when I smiled.

Sorry I have been gone. I've had a lot going on in my life. Everything's a huge mess. Can't get a break! The brown haired Slytherin looked like she had been running for hours. Her hair looked like it had been carefully curled earlier but now it was tousled and the perfect curls had separated leaving her hair look a little frizzy.
He clothes were crinkled and she was trying to catch her breath as she spoke.
Airlia nodded at the girl's question. "It went to the abandoned bathrooms." Airlia said and pointed at the doorway where the little creature disappeared. "If it stole something I can help you look." Airlia offered wondering how seriously the girl had meant the pickpocket comment.
"C' mon this is the only door in so it's impossible for it to have sneaked past us and out of there." Airlia walked through the doors to the bathroom and looked around. It was abandoned for a reason. It was dirty to the point where you could call it grimy. Mud, dirt, and piles of dust had taken over the room. Mirrors were broken and so dirty you couldn't get a clear view of anything from them.
Airlia wouldn't use anything in the room even if she was paid handsomely. She felt a little disgusted over the sight and just wanted to sprint out.
A clang could be heard from one of the stalls and a splash after it. Suddenly Airlia was worried that the creature could find another way out. Pipes.
Taking a step towards the sound Airlia froze when she realized that the over flooded water on the floor made her steps echo through the room. "Have you got a plan on how to catch it?"
Airlia looked over at the girl with an unsure look and she was quite sure the other girl had also figured out the possibility in the creature's second escape choice.
Thinking of all spells she'd learned Airlia couldn't come up with one to get rid of water for the death of her. She was sure the creature had stolen something important or expensive from the girl but didn't want to pry so she settled for waiting to hear the girl's plan for the creature's capture.
