The first week in Hogwarts had passed; the week itself had been tiring for Ronan because there were too many new impressions. So far, Ronan hasn't yet managed to screw something up in class other than the fact that he seemed to believe that potions seemed to be the most complicated class at Hogwarts, as he wasn't the only one who had noticed that they hadn't kept up in their notebooks during the potions classes over the week. In class, he'd caught the one girl beside him drawing and it turned his focus away from what Professor was actually saying.

Ronan started down from the Gryffindor tower, going further and further down until he hit the moving staircases and then finally stopped. Just as he stood there in his imaginative young mind, the staircase returned for him; his focusing back to the real world resumed as he steps onto the moving platform on which he had come to a halt.''How on earth do people live with these staircases for seven years!?" He proclaimed to himself just as two older Gryffindor students walked onto the platform beside him one of them said, ''New around here, aren't you?'' Both the Gryffindor students laughed as the staircase began moving. Ronan gave them both an annoyed grimace and decided not to give them a response. He continued from one staircase to the next until he stood in front of the double doors that led out onto the Hogwarts grounds, boldly venturing outside into the sunlight. A strong, fresh breeze hit him upon entering the courtyard.

To his surprise, there were several students standing and talking around the courtyard. As he passed, he caught a few students who sounded as if they were talking about the most recent article in The Daily Prophet naming their newest headline, Hogwarts Overly Progressive Half-Breed Policy Sparks Global Debate. A debate that Ronan really didn't take that much of an interest in, seeing as how he was still just a young kid, but he knew that everyone deserved to feel accepted here at Hogwarts. It took him some while to cross over the wooden bridge. He stopped a few times; he even went over to the other side of the bridge to get a good look at the owlery. Then he began thinking about his family owl, Nemo, who'd been in the family since he was little and was currently nearing his 15th year of service to the Ward family by delivering letters.

It was forty minutes past now and Ronan had crossed the bridge and had now come to stand high over the Hogwarts grounds overlooking the scenery. He then went between moving down the path that led further into the Hogwarts grounds. Unaware of where he was stepping, he got a big shock as he heard ''HONK HONKY HONK. HONKY HONK.'' He jumped and looked around as the honking suddenly stopped; he had taken a step back out of shock.

Hogwarts was more thrilling than Novalie had ever imagined! Her first week had been a whirlwind of discovery, each corner of the castle offering new mysteries. She'd spent hours exploring everything that she could find, sometimes with her newfound friends, other times on her own, savoring the freedom to roam. But even after all those adventures, she knew she had barely scratched the surface of what the castle held. There was so much more to discover!

Today, however, the draw of the outdoors was too strong to resist. The moment she stepped outside, a fresh breeze greeted her, playful and light, lifting the hem of her robe and sending a thrill through her veins. Novalie’s bright green eyes sparkled with excitement, the air smelled of endless possibilities and the promise of new adventures! Her friends back home had no idea what they were missing and for a moment, sadness tugged at her heart. But she quickly brushed it aside- there was no time for that. This was a moment to embrace the unknown, to chase after answers and uncover secrets. She wondered, where would this path lead? How far could she wander before she’d have to turn back?

With each step, her curiosity led her further into the grounds, following every twist and turn that beckoned her deeper into the wilderness. Soon, she found herself in a secluded spot, surrounded by towering trees and dense bushes.

Wait... where had she come from?
Novalie spun around, her eyes scanning the thick foliage. Everything looked the same, a labyrinth of greenery with no clear way out. Most kids might feel a stab of panic in such a situation, but not Novalie. If anything, she felt a surge of excitement. Getting lost was just another adventure! Maybe she could even camp out here for the night, under the stars!

A grin spread across her face as she walked alongside the trees around her. Who knew what she might find? Magical creatures, hidden treasures- anything was possible!

Then she heard it. A faint rustle from a nearby bush. Her heart skipped a beat, and without a second thought, she dropped to her knees and crawled toward the sound. She crawled from one bush to the next, her hands and knees growing dirtier with every move, her robe streaked with earth and her cheeks smudged from brushing against leaves and branches. But she didn’t care.

After several minutes, she paused to catch her breath, her senses sharpening.
Maybe she needed to listen more closely, to feel the forest around her and let it guide her to whatever it was that she was seeking. She closed her eyes and focused...

"HONK HONKY HONK. HONKY HONK."

Her eyes snapped open and she quickly poked her head out of the bush, her hair tangled with twigs and leaves.
What on earth was that?
She scanned the area, her heart still racing from the sudden noise. And then she spotted him- a boy around her age, standing not far off.

She blinked, trying to make sense of what just happened.
“Did you make that weird noise?”, she asked.

Ronan gazed around, his face displaying a mix of confusion and fear. Suddenly he felt a light chill breeze sweep over him, which made his cheeks turn slightly red from the cold and the embarrassment of being close to screaming because of the trumping sound that had scared him. Ronan was simply puzzled. He stood there looking around him as he saw a few students who were walking up to the castle. Ronan looked at the students awkwardly when they walked past him, staring him down and whispering between themselves. Instead of just standing there looking like a complete idiot, Ronan waved at them, and to his surprise, that wave resulted in them staring even more at him as they continued up in the direction of the castle.

Ronan knew deep down that he couldn't leave this matter alone, as it had to be one of his first Hogwarts adventures around the Hogwarts castle. The question now was, could he find the mysterious culprit, or could it have been something else entirely? A thought flashed through his mind as he glanced down at the ground in front of him and noticed some flowers that resembled trumpets. Weirdly enough, these flowers were larger and more trumpet-looking than normal flowers; he did vaguely remember reading about flowers with his homeschool teacher, Mr. Herbert.

There must be some logical solution, he thought to himself as he stood there, still confused and surprised by this whole situation; he simply couldn't understand where that sound had come from. Taking two more steps back, Ronan focused his gaze on the tree a few meters to his left, wondering if it possessed any magical powers. Ronan sighed and shook his head. No, that can't be it, he thought to himself. He knew that that would simply not be possible, even for a magical creature; there were, of course, magical creatures that could turn invisible and such, but it still seemed far-fetched in his mind.

Ronan stepped closer to the yellow trumping plants, dirtying his Gryffindor uniform and his black pants in the process. His eyes fixed on the yellow flowers, and his head scanned for any strange movements. The yellow flowers appeared to move more quickly as he approached them; perhaps they wouldn't notice anything if he merely moved his head slightly closer, keeping his eyes fixed on the flower in front of him. ''AHHHHHHHHH!'' Ronan screamed as he heard a voice from behind him. His face accidentally touched one of the honking flowers, and a loud honking noise went straight up to his ears. ''HONK HONKY HONK HONK'' Splash! He fell backwards, his uniform now partly covered in mud, as well as his uniform. ''What in Merlin's name, where did you come from?!'' He proclaimed loudly to the unknown voice he'd heard from somewhere behind him.

Novalie raised an eyebrow as she watched the boy tumble over, screaming.
Had she really frightened him?
Tilting her head slightly, she observed him nonchalantly. When he demanded to know where she had come from, she casually glanced back over her shoulder and replied, "Uh... from somewhere over there, I think."

With that, Novalie stood up, fighting against a few twigs and stumbling out of the bush. She brushed off her robe, small clouds of dust and specks of mud falling to the ground. Her attenton then shifted to the little yellow flowers nearby, shaped like tiny trumpets.
How had she not noticed them before?

Without a second thought, she approached the boy, her curiosity driving her closer to the strange blossoms. Kneeling beside him, she leaned in to examine the flowers more closely, her big green eyes wide with wonder.
"It was them, right? The noise, I mean."

Novalie had never seen flowers like these before - or, honestly, much of anything she had encountered since stepping foot into Hogwarts. Everything was so new, so fascinating!
She reached out, her hand searching to touch the delicate petals.
"How does that even work? How can they be so loud?", she wondered aloud, marvelling at the strange, magical world around her.
Suddenly, she turned her gaze back to him, her eyes searching his face as if he held the key to all her questions, waiting expectantly for an answer to fall from his lips.

His eyes moved in the direction of the bushes as the girl looked at them, making it obvious that Ronan hadn't had a chance to see her from his point of view. His entire focus was on the yellow blooming flower, which had diverted him from his surroundings; a little smile spread on his lips as he sat there on the ground, a bit muddy and dirty. ''Of course, sorry uhm, I didn't mean to yell so loud, in the process I even managed to dirty my clothes, I was simply so focused on the flowers—I've never seen flowers like that," Ronan said in a tone that carried a hint of embarrassment as the girl kneeled down beside him, examining the yellow flower just like he'd done himself a few minutes prior. As the girl spoke those words, a calm sensation washed over his body, as he thought he was about to lose his mind trying to figure out where the noise had come from.

Ronan then nodded and looked at the flowers once more, still sitting on the slightly muddy ground. He listened intently to the girl's words, keenly interested in her reaction, just like Ronan was interested in the flowers. "You don't need to tell me twice; that sound was horrifying, and you know loud." Ronan spoke with a fixed gaze between her and the flowers, a little smile spreading across his lips. He couldn't help staring even more at her. As she began to touch the petals, Ronan's expression changed to a more anxious one, concerned that the honking flowers' loud noises might resume.

At first, Ronan had been interested in the flowers, but eventually, the flowers and the voice behind him caused him to fall to the ground. It appeared that the girl was also interested in the flowers; in fact, she was touching the flower petals. He sat there listening to the girl as she talked, with an expression of interest. "I'm unsure; it seems like they start to honk loudly when you approach them, but you're already aware of that, right?" He sounded a bit like a know it all, as he said it, which was far from the truth, then he continued speaking. "My mom would not have appreciated those flowers; she has an aversion to trumpets, but she is also a muggle." Finally, Ronan stood up from the ground and extended his hand towards the girl, saying, "Oh, by the way, my name is Ronan, Ronan Ward; what's your name?''

"Hmm.. is that so..", Novalie murmured, her gaze drifting away from him as he told her about his uncertainty regarding how the flowers worked.
Her attention returned to the blossoms, their trumpet-like shapes captivating her curiosity more.As he continued, mentioning his mother, Novalie shrugged slightly and casually.

"Yeah, my mom is a Muggle too. And she doesn’t like loud noises either.", she replied, giggling a little bit, her thoughts momentarily drifting to her own mother.
She could almost see her now, throwing a slipper with surprising accuracy whenever she and her brothers got too rowdy in the apartment. A wave of nostalgia washed over her, making her miss them all the more. But she quickly tried to push that thought aside.

"Oh, by the way, my name is Ronan, Ronan Ward; what’s your name?"

Novalie looked up, noticing that the boy was already standing upand was extending his hand towards her. Her smile broadened as she rose to her feet as well. She took his hand, giving it a gentle shake. "I'm Novalie Moon, but you can just call me Nova."

With a playful flick of her wrist, she tossed her long red hair over her shoulder, not bothering to remove the leaves still tangled in it. Her green eyes scanned their surroundings before settling back on Ronan.
"So, why are you here, Ron? Are you on an adventure like me?", she asked, still smiling brightly and her tone light, eager to see if he shared the same sense of excitement.
Maybe he could even join her!
