And there she was... standing with Alex and her father at the Diagon Alley. They had already bought all her supplies for her second year.
Ignoring her dad saying that they were going back, Ash was staring dreamily at Weasley's Wizard Wheezes when Alex nudged her back to reality.
"We're going home." He whispered to her.
"Oh..." Ash nodded with a sad smile. "Let's go!" And she began walking after her dad, who had already made his way in the opposite direction.
"Aren't you forgetting something, kiddo?"
Ash stopped on her way and looked confusingly at her brother.
"What d'you mean, kiddo?" she said. Alex pointed towards a shop a few steps away from them.
A grin spread across Ash's face as she mouthed the shop's name-
"Magical Menagerie! We're getting a pet!!" But her smile faded as she remembered her parents holding a dislike for animals. "I guess... leave it, Alex, you know dad's never going to agree. Let's go back." She faked a smile.
As she attempted to hold her brother's hand to follow their father, he took his hand away.
"Hold on. Did you want to buy an owl before?" Said Alex, to which, Ash just shook her head, confused.
"I'll be back!" Her brother grinned, hit her head and ran towards their father who looked like a Lego minifigure from a distance. Ash grinned again, remembering Alex was scared of owls, and realising he was going to convince their father for her, now that she wasn't buying an owl.
FINALLY A PET!! Ash screamed internally and ran towards the pet shop, waiting for Alex to come back, her eyes widened.
Excitement had gotten the best of her— she didn't notice a girl walking in her direction—
BAM.
Ash was on the ground with her second-year textbooks scattered all around. She looked apologetically at the girl in front of her with whom she just collided with.
You've messed up, Ash...

Disastrous?Maybe not?
Great. Just great. Hailey had once again proven that she was clumsy (and that too in front of one of the cool kids). Hailey felt really embarrassed and she could feel the piercing eyes of numerous people glued to her. Hailey apologised and quickly collected her stuff. Hailey could tell that the other girl also felt the same way, she was red in the cheeks. Hailey thought the girl as pretty, with silky brown hair and deep hazel eyes that had a glint of kindness.
Hailey got up and headed towards Magical Menagerie, trying to be distracted by the enticing thoughts of finally buying a pet. BUT because of her rotten luck, the girl was also headed the same way. Hailey looked in her direction, the girl smiled at her. Hailey fastened up her speed and made her way for the shop - she was scared that something weird would happen.
With excitement filling her up to the brim, Hailey delicately opened the door, as if even one jerk would shatter it to peices. There was a welcoming, musty smell that made Hailey feel warm and calm. There was a yellow glow coming from one single light bulb but it was enough to see with. The ambience was just amazing.

Ash collected her second-year textbooks and stood up when she saw her brother emerging towards her from the opposite direction.
"Ashes!" Alex panted.
"Dad... didn't agree?" said a confused Ash, but her expression changed as her brother gave her a grin.
"He agreed! here—" Alex handed her some more galleons. "Oh, but dad has asked not to buy anything except a pet. And don't bump into anyone again, We'll wait for you near Gingers." He smirked and wiped the dirt off her shoulder.
"That's Gringotts," Grinning, Ash shouted at her brother, watching him leave.
She turned back to the pet shop's entrance to see the blonde-haired girl looking at her. Ash smiled slightly at her, but the girl had her eyes back on the shop as she opened the door slowly.
Ash was perplexed, but she knew now that maybe they both were looking for a pet.
She entered the shop behind the girl and her eyes scanned the place curiously.
There was a sudden voice in her head asking her to apologise to the blonde girl for making her fall and having so many people stop on their way just to look at them. That sure was very embarrassing...
"Uhm... hey..." Ash approached the blonde and chuckled nervously. "Just wanted to apologise for bumping into you a while ago. You're not hurt, are you?"WC— 286/200
