- Operation Quid Pro Quo-
New year, Same Cass. Despite the whole holidays they had to reflect upon their chaotic ways, they hadn't changed a bit. They weren't up to the same old schemes though, they had new and probably more stupid ideas. The food fight and toilet fire last year was apparently not enough. Reuniting with old friends that they really hadn't been away from that long (summer camp wasn't all that long ago after all) had given them an all new plethora of pranks to choose from.
Tonights, fondly nicknamed Operation Quid Pro Qou was mere minutes away from being put in motion. It was 12:45 on the dot, and Cass was sitting curled up on their bed, foot tapping away as the seconds counted down. They hated nighttime. No one was up and everything was so quiet and it just made them want to go crazy and run till they reached the horizon and then some. There would be no going insane tonight for them though. Tonight, they had a plan.
Clad in their summer pijamas and feeling the chill of the dungeon dorms, they silently tip toed across the floor as so to not wake any of their dormmates. Their scheming partner tonight didn't share a dorm with them, so the plan was to meet him in the common room. Time had taught them every creaky stair on the way down, and they made their way on silent feet towards their destination.
Their new accomplice, Prat was already waiting at the bottom of the stairs. Shooting him a silent grin, they motioned for him to follow them out the door. Tonight was no night for dawdling, for tonight they were going to get their thieving hands on some curtains (this is not a typo). Why did they need curtains? Wouldn't you like to know weatherboy.
The target for curtain stealing tonight was picked seemingly at random. As they steered their way through the hallways while dragging Prat along, their path was set upon the divination classroom. How they even knew where it was was a good question, seeing as they wouldn't have the option to take the subject till third year. Then again, how or why Cass Ito did anything was a good question.
Upon their arrival in the room of future seeing and making up things, they made a beeline for the windows. The beautiful view from the window was something they couldn't be bothered with, as they immediately proceeded to try and reach for the top of the curtains to tear them down. Unfortunately for them, though Cass may have gotten taller since last year they where still not tall enough.
With a whisper-grumble of rage, they dragged a chair over and stood up on tiptoe atop it. Just reaching the corner of the curtains, they gave them a forceful tug and made the whole thing tumble down onto the floor. There, task done. Now the hard part- how to carry these back to the common room without getting caught. If no sharp rule enforcing eyes spotted them, they would enlist Prats help in dragging the thing back to the Slytherin dorms.

Reading all those books in the library not only added more spells to his list but also further mischief on his mind. Staying with his parents for the entirety of holidays meant Prat holding back on his chaotic ways. Rather this only increased his appetite for pranks. Sure Throwing someone in the lake and then scaring the life out of them was fun, same way hiding snacks in classes he did not attend yet was. But Prat now needed something more, something big to satiate his long overdue hunger for a big nice Prank.
For the good of slytherin and all of mankind however, Prat had already managed to convince Cass, the short slytherin who had finally grown a little less shorter during the duration of their holidays away from these halls of Hogwarts. Cass was almost ready to accompany Prat before both were even halfway done with the plan. Going back to their dorms after dinner, Both pretended to act like their usual selves with Prat's usual behavior of staying up late not being anything out of place for him. Getting up at 12:45 Prat silently skedaddled his way outside the male dormitory, awaiting the second half of their Criminal Duo for the night. This was the perfect plan with enough variables to cover their tracks in the very happening ecosystem of the school.
Cass silently came out and motioned for Prat, Clad in their Pajamas, which was a striking difference to Prat's attire of his button ups and pants which he didn't bother to change until the deed was done. Prat loved this nighttime vibe of silence and peace. No one to ask questions, no seniors to interact with, and specially no juniors to look at and think Prat used to be like that. The silence of night time finally gave him the serenity he required to finally turn his mind off and a place with no expectations in his mind.
They had debated on multiple locations for this operation, starting from the Entrance hall to the Slytherin Girl's dorms and even the dorms of other houses. Deciding to instead use the Divination Classroom on the North tower was finally what they had decided upon. Sure it came with less danger of getting caught since no one would expect them to be there, but almost every Divination Professor had the rumors of being a seer. That being their only fear of getting caught which would not be as fun as what they had in mind.
The idea was to steal the curtains, YES. The curtains, sure Prat could steal something way more from the classroom, but he had no need for it. Moreover Prat did not enjoy the act of theft. It's not like he was stealing the curtains though, he was only borrowing them for an indefinite time. Even if they were caught, Prat could just deem it as an eccentric taste of really liking the colors and design of these curtains. And they sure were beautiful enough for someone to believe that white little lie.
Arriving in the room of "Trust me bro" and "source? I made it up", Prat saw Cass making a beeline for the windows. While Prat went to the other side, the beautiful view from this high up was mesmerizing, Prat took one moment to just enjoy the beauty before he began stripping the curtains off their holdings. Cass was still struggling to reach high enough before they grabbed a chair to help themself. Prat however fortunately, did not suffer from Dwarf.
With a little tug at them and a little more, the curtains came off easy before Prat rolled them into bundles and lugged them onto his shoulders, watching as Cass struggled to lift the heavy thing all by themself. Wanting to ease their trouble, Prat carried a few of Cass's portion of curtains and slowly tiptoed back to the slytherin dorms. Thankfully, no suspecting eye had caught them, specially the divination Professor, Prat still wondered if she'd see a vision and grab them both, How long would be the detention if she did.
Prat stopped these pathetic thoughts, those were unbecoming of him. Taking a look back at the now stripped barebones of the Divination Classroom, Curtainless Divination Classroom. Prat smiled inside for the approaching days, the plan of his coming closer to fruition with practically every step they took outside the room.

Operation Quid Pro Quo
Sereia's Calming Presence is in effect
Summer flew by too quickly, but Sereia found herself excited to be back in the space. The first five months in the space had been a rollercoaster of emotions, from both good to bad. Still, there was a certain satisfaction in waking up knowing today would be better. Having to relearn all the divination methods she learned in her days at Tenūsa made her appreciate the art all over again.
Maybe this was the year she'd redecorate, make it her own space rather than echo of all those who came before. Maybe some new curtains? A new table setup? She liked the circular tables and purple tablecloths, but you could tell it had been well loved and needed to retire. Plus, making the space her own felt symbolic. The previous teachers had been Seers; she was the first to not present the talent and still teach the subject. If the space was so uniquely hers, it would show the world that being a Seer did not make you any more or any less better at the subject.
When she came down the stairs from her living quarters and into her classroom, however, she did not expect for half the work to be done for her. A sea of light flooded her classroom, almost blinding her with the way they reflected off the crystal balls. At least whoever came in during the night had the decency to not break anything and just take the curtains. What did they need them for?
Well, this was going to ruin her next few lessons on catoptromancy. Too bad she didn't know any spells to turn back time and/or identify who'd come in to steal the curtains. Hogwarts didn't cameras last she checked, either.
