A Chance Encounter
Eliza had never really been in a library before, especially one filled with books all the way to the high vaulted ceilings. Even though she loved the outdoors, the library was one of the very first places that she wanted to visit. She took in the cool quiet air and the smell of books as she walked in. It was amazing every room in this school was. It still felt like a dream to her. She smiled at some students as she walked briskly by and quickly arrived in the vast shelves of the library.
She spent at least 45 minutes just walking around the books, brushing her fingers against the different textures of their spines. She felt calm and relaxed for the first time since she had come to school. She loved it here, but she hadn't really made any friends and it had been kind of hard for her to find a place to fit in. Maybe the library would be a safe place for her.
She continued to walk through the stacks when a specific book caught her eye. It was yellow, her favorite color, and was sparkling almost like gold. It was almost unbelievable. She started to walk over to the book, not paying attention to where she was going. As she got really close to the book, she extended her arm to grab it and-
"Oh my gosh I'm so sorry!" she spoke to the person that she had just run into. She had knocked down River and felt horrible. She extended her hand and helped get her up.
"I'm honestly the worst, I'm so sorry." She looked down at her shoes and felt horrible. There goes that chance of being friends with anybody, she would be known as the girl who knocked another girl over forever now.

As River made her way to her usual spot in the well known isles of the library, she scanned the shelves for a particular book. It was one she desperately needed to finish the Herbology homework for the day, and she was not giving up on finding the answer to her question.@Eliza Thornwood
The library was one of her most visited places, and sunny days, like today, were usually spent huddled up in a dark corner, with a good and informative book. It’s got to be somewhere around here... She thought, as her grey and blue eyes scanned the many books surrounding her. While looking for specific books, River would always have to work really hard not to get distracted, as there were so many books that were sceaming for her to read them.
Found you, her eyes landed on a dark green book furthest by the wall of the shelf. She reached a pale hand out and picked it down, blew some dust of it and flipped opened to the index. This should do.
The young Ravenclaw had left her bag and supplies by a table on the other side of the room. Book in hand she begun walking toward her spot, her eyes skimming through the book as she walked. That was a skill she had perfected. Walking and reading at the same time. This time though... she didn’t even get half way to her seat before, Thud!
River was hit in the side by the force of another student’s body. Seriously? Knocking me over seems to be a trend lately... "Oh my gosh I'm so sorry!", she heard a voice speak up. River eyes shot up at them. «Excuse me? Cant you use your eyes to see I’m trying to walk here?», she said, with a quite angry tone in her voice. She stood quickly up and ran her fingers through her red hair.
River’s cold eyes scanned the girl in front of her. She hadn’t seen her around before, as far as River could remember. She had brown hair, blue eyes and a pretty face. Still, River couldn’t help but have a slight urge to hex her face, luckily for the girl, River had self control when it comes to emotions, and a lot of it too.
Arms crossed over her chest, River simply looked at the girl, with a neutaral and cold expression on her pale face, framed by her red hair. River’s eyes seemed to slowly grow darker by the second, like they did when something bothered her.

@River DewlightEliza had just regained her balance when the girl spoke."Excuse me? Cant you use your eyes to see I’m trying to walk here?" Eliza couldn't help but feel a little agitated. Sure, she wasn't looking at where she was going, but neither was the girl in front of her! She felt that the girl was being a little unfair. She could feel anger running through her veins, but with a quick deep breath she forced herself to calm down. This was not the time to be making enemies, she didn't even have any friends.
She noticed that the books they were both holding had now fallen to the floor in a sort of weird, crumpled mess. She bent down to grab the books quickly, handing the girl the green book. She then realized just how awkward the silence was between them. "That is totally my bad" she spoke with a somewhat forced smile, still feeling a little agitated. "Even though we both were kind of at fault here, I was walking quite aggressively. You know how it is, books and such." She felt so dumb. She didn't know what to say and was pretty much just choking socially. She didn't even realize what was happening as she started to rant, "Look I don't want to make an enemy and I've barely made any friends and you seem like a really cool person so if we could just look past this I thi-" She stopped mid sentence once she realized how ridiculous she looked. Her cheeks flushed bright red and she instantly darted her eyes to the ground. "Jeez, I'm sorry. I'll just go" she mumbled, ready to turn around and run for the hills.
