Pet A cat or a owl that is the question

Landon was in vacation. There was sunshine, and with nothing else to do, he had accepted his father’s offer to go shopping on the diagon alley. His mother, who didn’t want his son to feel too alone, kept trying to convince him to adopt a pet. Wanting to leave him alone, he made a deal with her: he agreed to look at the animals that were in the shop and she definitely left him alone with him. His parents had errands to run, so they left him alone in front of the entrance. He promised to wait here for their return. He was stuck here, not knowing how long he had to wait. This is how he ended up in that store, not knowing what to do.

- Hello, I can help you, asked the old lady who was at the reception. She was not very tall, he was about the same size.

- Hello, Where are the animals please ?

- Follow me, she said with a smile.

She turned her back to get into the shop. Landon followed her through the store, watching what was around him on the way.

- Do you already have an idea of the animal you are looking for ?

- Well, I’m not really looking for an animal. My parents want me to have one so I’m not alone at Hogwarts, so I promised them I’d watch, he answered honestly.

The lady stopped, turning to face her again. Landon’s eyes were drawn by the noise, He turned his head and saw the different animals. There were a lot of them.

- I’m sure you’ll change your mind when you find the one that’s right for you.

Landon was not really convinced by his words, but he started to watch the animals. There were all kinds. He quickly passed toads and rats, not being interested. When he arrived at the level of owls and cats, his eyes were attracted by a owl as white as snow.

He kept going from animal to animal, but none of them managed to change his mind, no matter how cute or beautiful they were.

- I see that none of these animals have changed your mind. There are still kittens who arrived not long ago. We haven’t had time to put them with the others yet, but I can show you if you want.

He followed the lady into a new part of the shop. He saw the kittens, there were five. The kittens approached him, wanting attention, but there was one that remained in his corner, which attracted his attention. He approached him gently not to frighten him, and observed him. He tried to caress him and the kitten let it happen.

After a few minutes of getting to know each other, Landon had made his decision, he had decided to give her a chance despite his reluctance to adopt an animal. The old woman was right. He paid the amount for the adoption as well as all the supplies that this little beast needed, and went out with his new friend. He’d have plenty of time to name him while waiting for her parents.
