“No that’s not it.. I’ve gone through 9 shelves already!” As he moved down to the next aisle, he begins to slide books halfway out of the shelf to read the name. When he finds they’re not what he’s looking for he slides them back in and moves on to the next book.

Cathal Scott, an aspiring Alchemist, is searching for any books that may contain any information on the process or history of Alchemy, and in particular, the Philosophers Stones. He’s been searching day and night ever since he had arrived at Hogwarts. Due to some of his prior readings at home, he has some basics knowledge of the subjects, which is a big help when it comes to keeping his grades up. After the school day was over, he spends the remainder of his day in the library.

“Oh, this is not the craic..” He groans, going back to the desks and sitting down to rest his legs, the constant squaring and standing back up has become quite fatiguing. ‘Maybe I could get someone to help.. unfortunately. Won’t be able to find the book on my own, at least not for another few weeks.’ He thinks to himself, hating the idea of needing help but, he has no choice.

He looks around the room, looking for someone approachable. I had heard that the Slytherin students weren’t the best group but, at this point he would take anybody. Unfortunately, everyone else was either talking quietly with friends or studying, and he didn’t want to disturb them.

Brookline trod down the moving stairs, making sure not to step right through the false step. Glancing to the right, she caught sight of Gryffindors ambling out of their way out of the portrait hole.

More flights of stairs met Brookline, as she wondered around, making her way to the library. Wanting to get some reading done, before her History Of Magic class, Merlin, she could not wait. History was her favorite thing to talk about, if she wasn’t yapping about magic.

Once she reached the ground floor, Brookline skipped joyfully to the library, her fishtail braid bounced up and down, as if it wanted to play with Brookline. With a huge grin on her face, Brookline entered the library, after shoving the heavy doors wide open. She happily bounced to the shelves, aiming to seek for books and stories about dark fantasy. About magic. About darkness. And the dead...

Searching for a specific book was hard, trying to catch sight of a book that looked... exciting? No... Something that looked, like, mystery--. Something made her stop dead in her tracks. It was the noise of a shuffling noise. “What? What the he...” Brookline trailed off. Kneeling down, she pressed her ear tight against the cool polished wood of the shelves. Wasn’t she the only one here in this section?

The shuffling noise continued, getting farther and farther down the shelve. Following it, she heard it halt, and the sounds of footsteps walked away, leaving only a voice loud enough to carry to her voice.

“Oh, this is not the craic..”

Brookline jumped up from her crouched position, almost sprinting to the very end of the shelves. Turning the corner, she made sure wasn’t to be seen. A young boy with brown hair was sitting in a chair, looking out in space. She couldn’t tell wether the boy’s eyes were closed or completely open. Damn, did that kid fall asleep or what? She took a step, to find out what the boy was doing, when she missed her step and her ankle connected with the corner of the book shelf, tripping her.

THUD!

“Oh, shit!” Brookline gasped as she crashed right on to the floor, her chest making the most impact.
