The Great Hall is a large room with four long tables where students of each House sit during the day and at mealtimes. A majestic enchanted ceiling that mirrors the outside weather is watching over people in the room.
When you just pass the door from the Entrance Hall, Gryffindor table is next to the far side of the Hall. You have to walk past all three other tables to get to sit with the Lions. Maybe you will be able to eat and discuss with Nearly Headless Nick.

This is a RPG topic where all students are welcome to post.

The Gryffindor Table 2017-2018
Caitlin smiled as she walked over to the Gryffindor table and took a random empty seat. She wasn't really one to start a conversation so she kept quiet for the time being and observed those around her. Most were first years where she was sitting, she could tell because their robes had yet to have the Gryffindor patch sewn onto it. Someone close to her started to talk to her and she kindly replied back.
"Oh, hello. My name is Cailin, a pleasure to meet you." They talked back and forth for a bit before she overheard another conversation on the other side of her. It seemed that the person's brother had been sorted into Slytherin and they were making many rude comments.
"Hey! You have no right to say that about the Slytherin house! Just because a few bad wizards came from Slytherin does not allow you the right to talk about their house that way! I bet you didn't know that the Great Merlin himself was a Slytherin! Or that many other bad wizards came from our very own house! Ever heard of Sirius Black? He was a Gryffindor! So sit down and keep your mouth shut!" Caitlin nearly yelled. Now over half of the Great Hall was staring at her. Caitlin's cheeks turned almost as red as the Gryffindor banner as she sat down.

Eventually the silence would once again fade away, as everyone went back to the conversations they were having earlier. Some chose to start whispering about Caitlin, but for the most part, there were simply so many opinions floating around that it was hard to tell what the general consensus was.
Ike just so happened to be sitting next to Caitlin, having just sat down after getting sorted by the sorting hat. There was a slight blush in his face- he didn’t want to admit it because it was embarrassing for him, but he actually thought she was kinda cute. He cast aside his nervousness as best he could, which actually came quite naturally for the young boy. That was just the type of person he was- brave despite being scared or nervous. It was no surprise he ended up in Gryffindor, honestly.
In a lower, more hushed tone, Ike spoke up. “It’s okay…not everyone understands, but I do. My dad was a Slytherin.” He smiled genuinely towards her, before offering a hand in friendship. “My name’s Isaiah, but you can call me Ike. What’s yours?”
Before she could respond, a blast of magical energy surged towards their part of the table, and Ike instinctively grabbed Caitlin and another student next to him, then dove under the table quickly to avoid the blast. The magic blasted some of the other Gryffindor students, but luckily Ike and Caitlin had narrowly avoided the attack.
“Are you okay?” Ike said, letting go of Caitlin and the other student. He glanced in the direction of the Slytherin students from under the table and glared at them (Marcus among them). Ike only knew one spell, and it wasn’t exactly the best circumstance to be trying it, so he stayed his hand for now.

The Gryffindor Table 2017-2018
The young brown haired girl was sitting at the Gryffondor table like most of the first year. The food was excellent and Arya couldn't take her eyes off it. What should she take? A hard decision it was. Many wizards and witches were talking about their family and their home. It was making the girl feel left over. She couldn't say anything about those who were supposed to be her family. Not even her dad. He never came to say his goodbye when she left for Hogwarts. Her mother never sends any owl. The only family she could talk about would be her twin sister, Lianna. But she wasn't there too. So its left, nobody. She was alone.
Arya was quite depressed about all of this. She would have liked to make them proud of her. Especially her mother. Being a Muggle or a Wizard didn't change the fact that she was her child. But her mother figure wouldn't want to hear her about this. The young girl turned her attention to the person sit around the table. Many Gryffindors were eating the food that looked delicious. She then decided to join them in their gluttony and started eating.
It was about that time that a strange spell could be seem to fly around the table. Someone grasped her arms and made her get under the table. It was a guy named Isaiah. She had heard him present himself to Caitlin a first year too. She felt nervous. Why would someone decided to start a spells like this in the middle of the great hall while there was a teacher around to see it? Were those thinking with their head?
It was probably Slytherin. Arya was a little bit sad for having thought of them so fast, but it was true that they were mostly the only person that could be guilty of this act. She was quick to grab her wand in her hand and whispered, while doing the small gestures of a round, the shield charm. Her dad had taught her this spell last year. The young witch wasn't supposed to learn magic or use spell when she was not in the school, but her dad made sure she wouldn't use it for nothing. Today was a great day to start practicing. However, she did not want anyone to hear that she could do this spell. It was a secret she would share another day.
-Protego...
Arya said the formula in a whisper and the prank's spell rebound in another direction, toward others students. She sighs. The girl couldn't save everyone from it. As long as her friend and her were safe. The rest could defend themselves properly.

The Gryffindor Table 2017-2018
(Slytherin Table to Hufflepuff table)
Marcus looked up from his food at the middle of the Slytherin Table, glaring at the one who yelled at his table "Why do you assume it was anyone of us, I mean we are all here enjoying a fine meal, sure we still have our hair but obviously we could of been framed and the actual person who did something is amongst your three tables, plus if we actually wanted to prank everyone it wouldn't be hair-loss spells..bah pathetic" He shouted back to the girl with a cold tone "Also a simple hair-loss jinx took half of every table down, so...what does that say to The Gryffs, Claws and Puffs defensive abilities, I only saw one shield spell and that was at the Gryffs table, Great looking shield by the way Arya!, if I could award points you would receive somewhere around 40-50 for your house, anyway back to my current argument" He shouted once more then pause to catch his breath "Of course you can all assume we did it because of the past history of our house, but how mature does that make you, true we are eleven years old for the first years that still doesn't mean you can't make a mature decision, now if you all will excuse me I will get back to eating my food!"

The Gryffindor Table 2017-2018
Loud noises and voices surrounded the little Gryffindor boy, who was trying to eat his meal peacefully.
He came to the Great Hall late, as usual, but not too late, luckily. He found a small place to sit in, since he was so tiny he would fit everywhere. There were all of his Gryffindor friends already, and he was also near one of them: Arya.
He greeted her with a kind smile and a wave, then he looked down on his perfectly clean, golden dish. Man, he was hungry for sure.
The three main meals were, honestly, his favourite parts of the day. His body was like a small high-energy consumption machine, which could ingest a huge amount of food without feeling full. Still, nobody knew where all that food ended up to.
Darius smiled to himself, watching the delicacies passing by on the table, served on golden platters. He took some veal and some scrambled eggs, then he grabbed his fork and his knife.
He was about to give a bite to his delicious food when suddenly a silver spell headed on the Gryffindor table, bouncing on Arya's shield spell.
Darius was blinded by the spell for a moment, then he looked around. He felt exactly the same, even though he was asking himself why everybody was staring at him.
He immediately understood why when he saw a curly, red lock of hair falling right in front his nose.
All the hair above his forehead was gone, so it looked like he had a forehead much bigger than normal.
The boy felt so confused and shocked, he didn't know what happened.
"Arya..." He murmured, his voice was already shaking.
"What happened? Why is my hair falling down?! A-am I dying?!"
The poor boy couldn't imagine that spell was actually an innocent and harmless joke, so he started panicking and big drops shed out of his big, puppy eyes.
Someone started laughing at him, but he couldn't understand what happened so he just kept weeping in panic.

The Gryffindor Table 2017-2018
Earlier, the young brown haired girl saw her friend, enter the room and she had waved at him. Darius, came and sat close to her to eat lunch. The two of them were starting to spend most of their time in the common room together. They had met some days before and were already good friends. So, when her shield spells rebound on him, all she could do what stare. Her face went white. How could he still be friend with her after she had failed miserably to protect him again this spells? It was quite questionable.
- Oh my... Dari! I'm so sorry. I didn't expect it to fall back on you.
She decided that she couldn't keep the staring face otherwise the boy would panic. So she tried to smile to him and put her wand in her pocket. Arya was nervous and was trying to think real quick. How would they be able to save his hair? She had no knowledge of a spells that could make the hair grow back. The Gryffindor did some research in her mind. Maybe a potion could help. She read before that a hair-raising Potion could make the hair grow back faster. It was decided. This potion could save her friend. She returned her attention to the poor red head boy.
-Do not panic Dari, it's just... a little hair lost? But you won't die from it! I have a plan to help you get them back. Come with me! We need to search for ingredients!
Arya got up from the table and walked over to Darius. She smiled to comfort him and put her cap on his head while they exited the great hall.

The Gryffindor Table 2017-2018
Sofia took a deep breath as she walked towards the table, was she nervous? Hell yes she was, she has never been around this many people before, she wondered if they were anythin different to the people back home in spain...
"Uhm... Hello, im just gonna... sit here..."
She said, trying to be as quiet as possible, she hated having attention on her so this was kinda hard
As the girl sat down she began to play with her hair, she always did that when she was nervous
'God i hope no one noticed me sitting down' She thought to herself
She took out her notebook to distract herself rom all the noise and people around her
It took her about 10 seconds to even do anything in the notebook, that nervous.
She sighed and put her hair behind her ear and began to draw a small cat, then another one and another one... and one more
One cat turned into 15 different small cats on the white paper
She layed her pen besides her and just stared at the drawings, she didnn't do anything with it, she just stared at them in awe, she blinked a few times before realizing her doings.
She quickly put the notebook away and glanced at everyone, they all looked so confident and kind... amazing...

The Gryffindor Table 2017-2018
Though she was merely starting her first year, the 11-year old was already quite at home. It was no secret that Adriel wasn't shy, yet, compared to the other students, it seemed as though she had lived in the castle her whole life already. She stood at the Gryffindor table, one foot planted on the bench and one on the stone floor as she launched into another of her fantastic tales. Tonight she was telling the story of cunning pirates exploring the world and fighting monsters and gods of the seas. Her telling was complete with her well-practised displays of sword fights, using a butter knife as a sword and an empty saucer as a shield. Adriel held a captivated audience of a few of her fellow first years, while a few of the older students looked on in annoyance. Their annoyance did not discourage her at all, however; she simply looked at them with a slight sparkle of mischief in her eyes and continued with her one-sided sword fight more dramatically and obnoxiously.
"Camu tiptoed around the dark corner of the cave, sword glinting in the flickering light of his lantern," she continued, crouching at the table as she lowered her voice to a harsh whisper. "At the very edge of his lantern's radius, Camu noticed a foot laying on the ground. Lifting his lantern higher, he followed the foot to the body of his mortal enemy, Captain Jonathan T. Macey, being feasted on by a group of spiders the size of a muggle automobile."

We were born with the capacity and the determination to be utterly happy all the time. Perhaps even in this we were freaks.
