Duelling Beta Test Match 2 - Scott vs. Elena

His wand was gone, he was headed for a dodge, Elena needed a plan now, something good, something to get him out of commission for a little longer.

Although she did pause and give a small bow to the audience before continuing

She wanted to use the Incendio Dua spell again, so that she could continue to focus on dodging afterwards, just find a way to get a high constitution opponent out of commission faster than they can hit you once.

Elena flicked her wand a few times to make the shape of the conjuration, "Incendio Duo!"

God she hoped Scott didn't hate her for this.

"OOOoooooof" In a unison groan, Caradoc leaned backwards as his face as well as the surrounding students' were lit by the summoned flames. It had been a good tactical manoeuver, but a pretty nasty move. The Gryffindor boy was starting to look worse for wear. And while the Slytherin had managed to keep up very well, Caradoc suspected not much was going to be left for either students. This was where most duels got real. Survival and tactics to be the last witch or wizard standing.

The professor covered his mouth with the tips of his fingers. Both still had a good shot for victory. All that was needed was a keen mind, quick reflexes and a dash of luck. Meanwhile Caradoc made sure to keep his wand at the ready. Duels were ended one way or another. Some not so... nice.

Flames, for a moment Elena could feel the heat of them up her arm from where they flew out of her wand. Victory was under process, it was beautiful, and it was in oranges and reds, and Elena Jones just might be a pyromaniac.

More planning, one step at a time, what should she do now, what on gods green earth should she do...

Ha, there's a plan, keep Scott blind, and then you can hit him with less worse spells, and then really really apologise on the other side.

"Obscuro!" Elena swished her wand in the correct formation and then, after a moment, said load enough for Scott to hear, "Extinguo is how you get rid of the fire."

Extinguo is how you get rid of the fire. For that you need a wand, was all he could think, but nodded in acknowledgement to her anyway...

What day of the week was it, again? Scott couldn't recall (and didn't feel like this was the time to ask anybody). If it was Tuesday, then this all made perfect sense. If not, then he might just have to change his bad luck-day and circle some other dates with red in his calendar.

Maybe he was wearing extra-flammable clothing. Yet more proof of his mother's villainy.

Indecisive of wether to shriek in fear or to sigh with annoyance, Scott let out no sound at all as he looked down and started to stomp upon the end of his robe. He usually thought it was too long, the cloak, as it was always getting it stuck in things- but as of right now he was happy with the flames being those few feet farther away from him. People's standards change.

This time the heat from the fire wasn't as shocking, it was almost like he'd done this before, but soon enough, he knew it was his leg's turn to smoulder and sting like his arm still did and kick without his control. Had someone failed to inform Elena of how the objective of this duel wasn't to kill him? Scott couldn't help but wonder.

Girls are insane.

I promise, Scott doesn't hate her for this Might've developed Pyrophobia and a lifelong distrust of Slytherins but that's whatever.

The poor boy was a sitting duck. With little effort the girl whirled her wand around and blindfolded Mr. Alexander. The boy would be unable to see anything for a short while. The tactic was solid of course. But the professor was always sad when any player got hit. He settled in a resting position as he saw a crouching Scott finally grasp his wand, getting himself back up his feet and standing ready for the next attack. Not that he would see it coming. "Well done Miss Jones. Excellent tactic. Mr. Alexander, get yourself back in the game." Caradoc would smile encourageingly at both of them. This had been a good game by now. Though he was sure to haul Scott's ass overto the inifrmary after this.

Ah, so she had blinded him. Ripped out his eyes, most likely... or transfigured them into glass marbles. That sounded like something she would do, from what little he knew of her... but Scott had to admit, he didn't much fancy being blind! Finding and walking up the right moving staircase was already hard enough for him, and without his eyes he couldn't see it becoming any easier...

And then his mother would most likely cry, too, which he didn't like at all.

"Mr. Alexander, get yourself back in the game."

"Easier said than done, Professor." Said Scott back, intending to sound calm but with his voice breaking from the pain he'd somehow managed to forget he was in.

He reached to remove her blindfold (because as he is not completely stupid, he did realise what was blinding him) with his right hand, as his left didn't seem to cooperate properly.

It was obviously nearing an end, and Scott wasn't looking too hot. Well, Scott was looking very hot on the account that he'd been set on fire multiple times, but in terms of physical and mental health he was roughly equivalent to an edgy teenager that'd been kicked off a three story building.

"Hey do you wanna stop? We can stop if you want, I'm really sorry for setting you on fire!" Elena called from where she was, she sounded really concerned for him. Scott looked MAJESTIC but that wasn't exactly stopping him from looking a little bit grilled at the edges of his robe.

Either way, Elena decided, another rictumsempra wouldn't go awry, so she swished her wand expertly and announced, "Rictumsempra!"

Actions: Feel deep concern, Rictumsempra on Scott.

Caradoc could not help but chuckle lightly at Miss Jones' apology as she followed her words up with an attack right after. Poor Mr. Alexander was of course right in the process of removing his blindfold when he got hit in the face with a ticklin charm. The crowd went "OOOOOOOooofff" And as he got knocked down hard on the stage, another: "AAAaaaaahhhhh" Several dozens of grimaced faces were now staring at the two opposing students.

"This is it, you two. This can be your moment. Take it."

Almost won, Elena had almost won god damnit, so it was time to do what she did best and try and screw over the opponent in a do or die measure that was either going to be absolutely bloody brilliant or leave her in the dust. Then again, Elena Jones was not known for her propensity to fail, so maybe, just maybe, it would work.

Elena reached out with her wand, "Expelliarmus!"

Well, it was just about time to pray, again, and hope she can run fast enough to get out of the way of whatever Scott was about to send her way.

Scott felt like suing. He didn't know whom (because he didn't blame anyone around him), nor how (because he had no legal experience whatsoever)... But that's what he wanted to do. He wouldn't get to, of course, as the only thing his body would allow him at the moment was laughter. Really irritating, actually: no one dares follow a laughing maniac to court.

"Pfft... Hah-ha! He he..."

His stomach was actually beginning to hurt, this second time, along with all the rest of him. He'd thought it was an almost amusing spell the first time around, but he imagined that maybe most things hurt a little more right after being burned twice. His whole body was exhausted and angry with him. Scott wouldn't be surprised if it chose to collapse any second because in all honesty, he wasn't doing himself any favours.

When If Elena won, he supposed this pain of his was to serve as some proof of her really deserving it. They'd definitely gone into this duel with differing mindsets, he realised this now. Maybe Elena felt she was actually fighting for something, unlike himself.

He wondered what that could be.

"Heh... Ahahaha! Ha... Ha... Ha... Ha! Flipendo..."
