Silently Crying
It was midnight, and Harper knew that she shouldn't be wandering the halls at night, but she just had to get away from the common room. A few of the girls from made a nasty comment about her earlier, and she just couldn't shrug it off. She missed her mother, and her father. The dinners, the breakfasts.
Her mother, who they recently figured out she was incurable sick. They tried everything but nothing worked. Harper didn’t want to go to Hogwarts at first, but her mother basically forced her to.
‘it will be okay my love’ she had said. Her father and brother then helped her getting the things she needed, and her brother joined her on the scary ride towards Hogwarts. Maybe she should look for him.
Harper bit her lip, trying to stop herself from crying.
She hurried around the corner and saw the doors of the library. The place to be now. Books have always comforted Harper. When she entered, the smell of paper was immediately comforting. She now let her tears flow, and the walked to a small couch which was at the end of a huge shelf. She pulled her knees up to her chest and cried softly, not being able to hold back anymore. Her nose was running.
She didn't notice that someone was already in the library, someone who noticed her crying, and wondered why the beautiful small girl cried.

Silently Crying
While the library was was always quiet, it was never this quiet. One would always catch the scratching of quill on parchment, or the gentle turning of pages. It was rather calming if he was honest, much better than the Ravenclaw common room.
He didn't carry a lantern as the pale light of the moon gloomily illuminated his path as he carried several books back to their shelves, watching them slide comfortably back into place on their own accord was strangely satisfying and brought a small smile to his usually stern features. The last of the books returned, he slips his hands back into the confides of his pockets to take in the peaceful atmosphere of a deserted library on last time.
Turning on his heel, Griffin allows slow footfalls to carry him back to the exit. It would take but a few steps before he heard the unmistakable sounds of sobbing. Slowing his pace even more to creep along the isles, the ashen haired boy peeks around to where the crying figure sat.
It takes but a few moments before he confirms that it is indeed someone crying, a girl by the looks of it. He sighed internally, he knew he was not the best at consoling people- truthfully he didn't care much for those who cried. He knew however that she'd notice him walking past....
Stepping out from behind the shelf to face the girl Griffin softly clears his throat "Hello?"

Silently Crying
"Hello?"
Harper's breath got stuck in her throat, and she quickly wiped away her tears. Did she cry that loud? She didn't dare to look the person in the eye, so instead she looked at the legs of a boy.
He wore a pair of boots.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to cry." Harper said with a shaky voice.
She tried her best to stop the tears from falling, but she couldn't help it. The thoughts kept coming back, and another set made their way down her cheeks.
Harper wrapped her fingers around her necklace, that she got from her mother the day she left for Hogwarts. She held it tight, hoping it would give her some comfort, and calm her down.
She tried to stop crying, and hoped she didn't make a fool out of herself.
Harper gathered some courage and looked up to see what house he was from. His tie had blue colors in it. Ravenclaw, Harper figured.
Harper still hadn't found the courage to look the boy in his eyes. She felt too ashamed, but she also felt something comforting at his presence.
"I could go it you want," Harper sniffed. "You can sit here." She wiped her hands and gave the boy a brief smile.

Griffin watched as the girl hurriedly attempt to wipe away the tears rolling down her cheeks while quelling the ones still welling up in her eyes.
Griffin sighed internally as he thought that maybe he should have attempted to sneak past her. Taking a step closer to the girl, he could make out her house colours... Hufflepuff.
He cast his mismatched eyes to hers and managed to pull a smile to his features as she spoke, lifting a hand up to lazily scratch the back of his head, his expression one of friendliness...At least he hoped he looked friendly.
"It's alright." he says in response "I was actually on my way out." Lowering his hand back to his sid, Griffin moves to stand in front of her "You know that we really shouldn't be out wandering the school after hours right?" he continues before offering his hand out in greeting his smile genuinely growing "The name's White... Griffin White. First year Ravenclaw." he finishes before realising that she probably could have discerned the last part for herself.
Now that he was closer to her. He could see that she clutched some sort of necklace, and judging from the looks her, it probably belongs to some family member. At least, that's what he thought, he always thought himself a bit of a investigator..

Silently Crying
Rhea had been up late in the library, studying for her impromptu Transfiguration test her teacher had bestowed upon her. She had no idea what any of the definitions actually meant, and no idea how to do any of the spells, so she retreated to the library to get as many books as she could in order to further understand. Her five books were spread out in front of her, all open to a page that each described a different page. But Rhea had fallen asleep halfway through her study session. The studying had gotten to be too much for her, and she'd dozed off because of boredom. The right side of her face was smushed against her books, and her red hair was covering her face.
Rhea didn't know how long she'd been sleeping, but she awoke to the sound of quiet sobbing. She opened her eyes and moved her hair out of the way, before cracking her neck a bit and looking left and right. She found a girl curled up on a couch near her, hidden behind a shelf of books. Rhea was about to get up to comfort the girl, as a good Gryffindor would do (well, as least in her opinion), when another student, by the looks of it a guy, walked up to her. They struck up a conversation, and Rhea could see the girl swiping under her eyes, presumably to remove her tears. In the dark, Rhea couldn't see what houses they were in, but she didn't really care. She knew that she had to play her part in comforting the girl, otherwise what kind of person would she be? Rhea left her books open and stood up. She made it to the pair in time to hear the boy introduce himself.
"The name's White... Griffin White. First Year Ravenclaw." Rhea now knew that the boy was in Ravenclaw, and she decided to introduce herself to the girl as well. Rhea didn't know how well she could calm the girl down, but she knew she had to try. Even if she didn't know the person. The redheaded girl didn't like it when others were sad.
"Hey..." Rhea said softly, crouching down next to the girl. "My name's Rhea. Rhea Bishop. I promise I don't bite," Rhea said the last part with a soft laugh, making sure not to startle the girl too much when she crouched next to her.

Silently Crying
“The name’s White... Griffin White.” The boy said and he offered Harper his hand. Harper took it and shook it gently.
“My name is Harper. Harper Wolf. First year Hufflepuff.” She said with a small smile.
She finally dared to look Griffin in the eye. He made the library feel less alone already.
On her other side, a girl with red hair crouched down next to her. By the look of her clothes, she’s a Gryffindor. She must be very brave. Harper smiled to the girl.
“Hey,” her voice sounded soft.
“My name is Rhea. Rhea Bishop. I promise I don’t bite.” Harper chuckled.
“My name is Harper Wolf.” She said with a small smile.
“Again, sorry for crying in the library. It’s just...books give me comfort when I feel down, and I needed to be here for a moment.” Harper said. She gave Griffin and Rhea a soft smile. She looked at Griffin.
“So that’s why I was roaming the halls at night.” They both smiled. Funny how a library can bring smiles on people’s faces.
“But why are you both here at night?” Harper wondered out loud. Griffin was probably studying here, Harper thought. She gently let go of her necklace and placed her hands in her lap.

Griffin turned his head to glance at the arrival of the girl, his brow lifting slightly in recognition of her name. He knew the name, Bishop...His Great grandmother often spoke highly of them, his gaze lowering to her robes. Griffindor, interesting- he thought to himself, not many Slytherin houses turn out a Griffindor.
Returning his attention back to the Hufflepuff girl, Griffin returned his hands back to the confides of his pockets, letting his mind wonder as she spoke. It wouldn't take long before he noticed that he didn't quite catch her name, but then again he always was bad with names, the only reason he remembers which families are which is due to the constant drilling of the names into his head.
Deciding it best to return his attention to the conversation, Griffin manages to catch her question. Why was he out here at this late hour anyways? He had to return books yes, but he could have done that tomorrow, perhaps it was just his simply in his nature to explore every dark corner.
"I just wanted to get out of the common room honestly." He offered in response with the slight lifting of his shoulders in a small shrug before smiling slightly. "The Ravenclaw prefects are a drag..."

Silently Crying
Rhea smiled as the girl slowly stopped sniffling. She took a look at her, and underneath the soft light, Rhea could make out the girl's robes. Black and yellow. So, the girl was a Hufflepuff. She was very pretty as well. She had wavy, brown locks, and blue eyes that peeked out from under. She introduced herself as as Harper Wolf, and Rhea smiled at her.
The boy, whose name was Griffin White, was in Ravenclaw, as he'd already said. He had ashy blond hair, and his eyes... One was a piercing blue and the other was hazel. Rhea was awed. His eyes were so unique, so pretty. She looked on as the boy's eyebrow raised, his head rising slightly as he tried to recognize her. She pressed her lips together as she realized that he was part of the White family, the family that her parents often spoke about. She couldn't be too sure before, as there were many White families in England, but now that his face dawned with recognition, she knew.
Harper told the both that the reason she was out so late at the library was because the books around her calmed her down. Rhea couldn't understand how, as books only served to make her more stressed about all the work she was either missing or couldn't understand. Then Harper asked them why they were out so late night. She dropped her hands in her lap and Rhea realized she was clutching at a necklace she was wearing. Rhea smiled as she knew that Harper was homesick.
"I just wanted to get out of the common room honestly. The Ravenclaw prefects are a drag..." Rhea smiled as she heard his words, and wondered if she should tell them the truth about why she was here. On one hand, they could help her with her Transfiguration. But on the other hand, Griffin could tell his parents that Rhea was having troubles in school and word would get back to her parents... And Rhea would never be seen again.
She decided to tell them a version of the truth. "I just wanted to read up some more about Transfiguration..."
