"Do you know why?" Koko asked. Sapphire was slightly confused, before she realized that the caramel haired girl was probably talking to herself. She adjusted her position, releasing her hold on her legs and studying her... sister's expression.

The caramel haired girl looked like she might cry. She flipped through the pages, as if searching for something, which she was, of course. "They're dead," she hissed, and Sapphire felt a pang of guilt. She'd known that their parents were dead, but she'd neglected to tell her sister. She just... she didn't know, asumed that Koko would know it too. "I can't believe it."

"I'm sorry... I should've told you... I thought that you knew..." she said. She wasn't looking up at her sister, her bright blue eyes fixated on the floor. "If you don't mind me asking, what were you told?" she asked, glancing up nervously.

"Ugh. This sucks," Koko said. Sapphire's question went unanswered. It certainly did. Sapphire lifted her head up and stared into empty space, somewhere above Koko's head.

Koko got up and slammed the book onto the shelf, causing Sapphire to wince. "Sapphire, I'm going to have NO ONE," the other 11 year old said, which was a bit of a confusing statement. Then again, at the moment, Sapphire didn't think that she would be able to make sense of even the most understandable thing. With a hopeful glance, the golden eyed girl said, "Maybe we can stick together throughout all of this?"

Then her expression morphed, and Sapphire focused on the other girl. Koko shivered and looked straight into Sapphire's eyes. "Sorry about that," she said.

Sapphire nodded in awknowledgement. "There's nothing to be sorry about." Neither of them were without fault here. Sapphire had kept an important secret... Making an exclamation like that paled in comparison. There was nothing wrong with what the other girl had said... "All we need to do now is figure out what to do."

"What should we do now?" Koko whispered to her newfound sister. Should they embrace their heritage, or should they discard it like a card unwanted. She felt a shiver run up her spine. The library wasn't exactly cold, but... The heat didn't help ease the chill that seemed to surround the young Slytherin. "Honestly... If we're going to stick together... Would you rather live with me or I live with you? I-I'll either be moving to the United States or France next year. I'd rather not go to France though; I'll be stuck with bloody Rosalie and the boys." Her voice took on a sardonic tone as she spoke the last sentence.

Koko slammed the book shut, a cloud of dust rising up off of it and into her face. It tickled like a damn sneezing hex, but she didn't let herself sneeze. She placed the book back into its spot in the shelf, bending down to make it possible. She then stood up and beckoned to the white-haired girl. "Should we go to the Common Room to discuss this matter further?" she queried.

She was beginning to feel restless. While a library could be a safe place, she wasn't sure if she wanted to spend all day here--not with the creepy feeling it was giving her. With a sigh, she glanced at her friend sister and forced a smile upon her weary face. Today would only drag out longer.

Oh. My. Gosh. I am so sorry about the wait. I didn't even realise that I hadn't replied. I typed up a draft a while back, but it never saved and then I forgot all about it. I won't let it happen again!

"What should we do now?" Koko said, not seeming to have heard Sapphire. "Honestly... If we're going to stick together... Would you rather live with me or I live with you? I-I'll either be moving to the United States or France next year. I'd rather not go to France though; I'll be stuck with bloody Rosalie and the boys."

"Well, I don't really have the best luck with family either. My adoptive sisters despise me and are always throwing their rotten insults at me, so my place wouldn't be the best either," she said, quietly.

Slamming the book shut again and setting it on the shelf again, the caramel haired girl said, "Should we go to the Common Room to discuss this matter further?"

Sapphire nodded slightly and looked around. She was still wary of places like this, always thinking of ways to get out of a bad situations. Worst came to worse, she could-- no, she couldn't strike anyone with a book. That would most certainly not be okay, no matter how much she wanted to. Sapphire stood up straight, staring directly ahead of her with a look of fear on her face. "If we're going to avoid being found somewhere we're not suppost to be, we should go now," the white haired girl said quietly. She was getting paranoid. She'd thought she'd heard footsteps, and she wasn't sure if she should be scared, or hopeful that, if there was someone, they would completely bypass the girls.

Her eyes shone like spotlights as she turned to exit the section calming herself as much as she could. After all, it was just the library... It couldn't be that bad... could it?

”Yeah... Let’s head to the Common Room.” Koko shot a grateful glance at Sapphire. It was so hard to believe that she had family. But she did, and she was undeniably pleased with this new development. ”I left something in one of the corridors, so I’ll get it first, but do you mind meeting at about ten o’clock tonight? We just have to be in the Common Room, not in the dormitories.”

The plan sounded fine to the girl of fire, who never really thought her plans out - much less like her mother than she might have thought. Upon seeing a picture, she knew she had her mother’s eyes and skin tone, but her mother had been smart enough to be a Ravenclaw. Koko was clever enough; she just didn’t feel like she would make a good Ravenclaw.

Her eyes darted nervously around as they made their way out of the area. What if someone started to question them? Koko wouldn’t hex them; she avoided any possible detention like the plague. A wave of nausea suddenly hit the child, and she squeezed her eyes shut to deal with it. It wasn’t that she was sick, but it was that she was finally remembering something from when she had been a toddler: her parents had died from a disease.

Sapphire had known, Koko knew that. What she didn’t know was how long Sapphire had known for... What if her sister had a perfect memory? That would make Koko feel stupid. She wasn’t stupid, of course, but what was a eleven-year-old girl supposed to think? Koko opened her eyes once more, inhaling the musty scent of the library with a heavy sigh. She loved this place, even if it were the home of her newfound sorrow. ”Yes... Let’s go,” Koko finally whispered, striding out of the library, the heels of her combat boots clicking softly on the carpeted floor of the library. She began to head out of the doors and into the corridors, looking for her missing quill.

"Yeah... Let’s head to the Common Room,” Koko said, shooting Sapphire a grateful look. "I left something in one of the corridors, so I’ll get it first, but do you mind meeting at about ten o’clock tonight? We just have to be in the Common Room, not in the dormitories.”

Sapphire nodded, the plan sounding fine to her. She watched as her sister's -- sister, it still felt so wierd to say -- eyes darted around, in the same paranoid way that her eyes had later. The white haired girl knew why. If they were to get caught, and then questioned... she didn't know if she could come up with a plausible excuse. At least, not one that would keep her out of trouble.

As Koko squeezed her eyes shut, Sapphire frowned, thinking of everything that could possibly go wrong. She felt another wave of guilt, crashing down around her. She needed to stop keeping secrets, especially in the case of... friends. Also a little used word in her vocabulary.

As her sister opened her eyes again and breathed in the library's musty scent, Sapphire's gaze wandered and glazed over. "Yes... Let’s go,” Koko said, jolting the white haired girl back to the present as she started to go down the hall. Sapphire started to follow, but more slowly. She felt the weight of the 7th year book, still in her bag, and that of the potions book Koko had given her. She would return them later, but for now, she had some reading to do...
