Match 3 - River vs. Hengist
'I missed...?' Hengist thought. He really wasn't intending to, but perhaps his conscience was starting to get the better of him. He must have been distracted once again because he did not notice the enemy's spell coming right for him. Suddenly, he felt an extreme wave of heat wash over him. It was so hot, in fact, that he was worried that he would be seriously injured!
Just as suddenly as the heat came, however, it disappeared. 'River must've got me with an incendio.
Nice!' He was relieved that she was not only able to get a spell off, but hit him with it. He felt as if a weight was lifted off his shoulders. He felt as if he didn't have to worry about holding back subconsciously. Alternatively, getting hit by that spell was very uncomfortable. No, that was flat painful.
Hengist quickly checked himself over to make sure there were no flames still alight, which there did not seem to be any. 'Good,' he thought, 'now I have more reason than ever to finish this.' He decided to try a spell that had succeeded earlier, hopefully with a more solid hit this time around. "Flipendo!" he exclaimed, flourishing his wand at River, hoping for a full hit instead of the glance it was earlier.

The round
Zahid was admittedly surprised to see River smile through her sneezing. That took some fortitude. Hengist on the other hand seemed to shake off the heat of the Incendio with relative ease and both quickly readied themselves and released their next spells.
He watched both spells connect with their targets and while at first glance he wouldn't have been able to tell what River had hit her opponent with if he hadn't heard her incantation, Hengist's Flipendo was easily recognizable as such with the way she was knocked back – and with more force, it seemed, than last time.

Match 3 - River vs. Hengist
He hit her, but in return, he was also hit by her spell. "Heh...heh...ha...ha hahahahahahahaha!" 'I can't stop...this is intolerable....' he thought as the laughs just spilled out of his mouth. Even through the laughs, though, he could tell that after that last hit, River was pretty much out of steam. One more hit looked like it would do it, but hitting her would be difficult with this...complication, but he had to try.
There was only one spell in his mind that might be simple enough to cast with all the laughing. He was hoping it would be enough to end the duel, but he wasn't confident in his ability to hit her due to the effects of River's spell. Well, only one way to find out. He gathered as much willpower as he could to pause the laughing long enough to cast his (hopefully) final spell. "Ha ha...Incendio! Ha ha ha!" he exclaimed with his wand pointed as much in River's direction as possible.

Match 3 - River vs. Hengist
Ugh, River was not feeling good, at all. She knew the duel would be ending any moment now, but she wouldn’t give up til that moment came. After that last hit with flipendo, her brain seemed to be releasing smoke, it was almost like her mind was short-circuiting. Her body too, seemed physically exhausted, and to be honest, it felt like it mostly wanted to just collapse and lay down on the floor for a while. Simply stare at the roof, and enjoy some quiet, but she would have to wait with the roof-staring, for she was still (barely) standing.
Even though River knew he had a slim chance of catching up, she wanted to manage one spell in particular.
She raised her wand, still in between sneezes, and said with the power she could manage, «Flipendo!».Action: attempt to cast flipendo at Hengist

The round
It was easy to see that the duel would soon find an end. River was looking quite battered already but she still held fast long enough to attempt another Flipendo while Hengist was caught in a fit of magically induced laughter. They both seemed to cast simultaneously but where his spell hit true, hers went wide – maybe due to exhaustion or maybe he managed to knock her aim astray with his hit, Zahid couldn't tell. The result was obvious though, as River collapsed – not that Hengist looked that far of from collapsing either, but he would've only collapsed in laughter due to the spell.
Almost as soon as the girl hit the ground, Zahid motioned for the nurse waiting in the sidelines to come forward to tend to her while he stepped forward to announce the winner. “And the duel goes to Mister Warbeck! Congratulations, young sir.”
Catherine immediately stepped forward when she saw Professor Zahid motion to her. She had been waiting more or less patiently amongst the spectators, leaning against the wall. The whole duration of the duel she'd been grinding her teeth. Just what were the Professors and the Headmaster thinking, letting students duel each other? It was barbaric. Allowing them to deliberately hurt each other... But did anyone listen to a nurse? No, of course not.
So she had been forced to bide her time and watch the duel without interfering, but now the duel was over and she was finally allowed to tend to her patients. Kneeling down next to River she would immediately start casting to determine her state and then she would take her to the hospital wing where she would be seen to properly if it was needed. Luckily, it would not be needed and after taking care of River she would then check on Hengist.

Match 3 - River vs. Hengist
As soon as his spell hit, he saw her fall. She still managed to get a spell out before she went down, but it went quite wide. She must have gotten it out the moment after his spell hit. 'Finally...it's done.' he thought. At this point, Professor Zahid announced his victory as well, but Hengist barely heard it as he saw the nurse run up to River's prostrate body. Hengist also approached, worried at the abuse she took at his wand. The nurse waved him off and said, "I'll get to you in a moment, boy."
He was surprised that's what she thought he wanted. He responded and asked, "I'm mostly fine, just a few bruises and singes. Is she going to be ok?" The nurse didn't even glance at him and told him that she would be ok with some minor treatment and rest. Then told him that if he's able to walk and wants to be looked at that he should make his way to the hospital wing. Hengist didn't want to leave River on the ground like that, but he took the nurse at her word and left the dueling stage, making his way towards the hospital wing like the nurse suggested.
