Gryffindor Ball
This Event, following the Scavenger Hunt, is private to Gryffindors.
Open to interactions
The Second Year Gryffindor Prefect had spent the late afternoon to the evening assisting her Head of House, Sorrel Wright in setting up the two events, the Scavenger Hunt and the ball for the Gryffindors. Admittedly, Aurelia was grateful that the Head of House had thought of doing something small for the house of red before the semester came to an end. After all, the blossomball hadn’t turned out as planned and all she wished for this ball was the Gryffindors to enjoy themselves.
Aurelia led the Gryffindors, many were chattering about the spectacular gifts they had found in the Scavenger Hunt, up the stairs and down the hallways embarking towards the ballroom. After last years blossomball and the incident with Charles York, the room gave Aurelia some bad memories. Fire. She hoped no Gryffindors would set this one on fire like the many other balls. Once they arrived, Aurelia pushed the massive doors open. “No Chocolate Frogs beyond this point. Either eat them or throw them away. ” She said, shooting a few students who had an armful of chocolate frog boxes a glare. Unlike many wizard and witches, Aurelia was not at all fond of the live frog shaped chocolates after her rather unfortunate encounter with her first.
Stepping into the room, the first thing one would notice would be the massive glimmering chandeliers and red streamers hanging from the ceiling. Red tablecloths laid over the many circular tables. On them were bowls of punch and small treats including Eclairs, Cake, Mini-pies in all flavors and a fruit platter. From an old gramophone, which Aurelia has found in the room of requirement, played some ballroom music.

Marla really wished she paid more attention to these announcement things, because maybe if she did, she wouldn't be wearing sweatpants to a ball. Then again, if she knew that this would be a more... Formal celebration, she probably wouldn't dress up anyways. Possibly a skirt. Possibly.
Well, there was nothing she could do about it now. Might as well have a good time. She followed the sea of students that were on their way to the ballroom with a chocolate frog in hand. But of course, the prefect told us to throw them out as they all arrived. Why tell the students to take chocolate frogs just to throw them out later? If she didn't know, shoving a bunch of wriggling chocolate in your mouth at once is a choking hazard. What if a kid died? Then again, she was just trying to find another reason to get angry at Aurelia. Marla grudgingly shoved her chocolate frog in her pocket and walked into the ballroom. There was no harm in sneaking just one in, right?
Similar to the great hall, the ballroom was grand, if not grander. Streamers draped delicately off the ceiling, which was an amazing feat in itself. Even with magic, who could get up there? And the best part of the decorations were the tables. Well, what was on them, at least. Sweets of every kind laid on numerous platters. She'd definitely probably end up devouring a whole platter of those if there was no one she knew there. Mostly because she definitely was not in any dancing attire.
And so, she plopped down at a table in the corner and checked out the broom she had acquired earlier at the scavenger hunt. It seemed a little worn out.. Dangerous, even. But it would do just fine. Better than just fine, actually. Marla was ecstatic about it. There were so many possibilities with sneaking out! She could soar into the night sky, onto the tippy top of Hogwarts, maybe she could even fly to Hogsmeade? If it wasn't that far.
But here she was, stuck in a posh ballroom, that was quite humid, to say the least, in fleecy pants. She sighed with exasperation, already bored. Marla eyed the door, contemplating leaving. There was really no one that she knew there yet, and it wasn't like she had many friends in Gryffindor to begin with. Kyle was a kind-of friend, but then he socked her in the face. Isaac was an ehh, still an eh. Maybe Meenauh would show up? She was a nice girl. Or Isaiah, he was really funny. But the people that she was acquainted with were nowhere in sight. Hopefully, someone would show up later?
"your loss, baby !!"

After the hunt people were being led towards the ballroom and despite how badly Kyle didn’t want to go, he decided he may as well go along if nothing else to just make an appearance and make people think he cared about the house. If Kyle was going to be here for seven long years he couldn’t completely alienate everyone in his house...or could he? Nah, setting the ballroom on fire was a bad idea...this time
He stepped into the hall and he couldn’t help but look down at himself. Leather jacket, grey Henley, jeans, black boots and a chain hanging on his right side. He shrugged and ran a hand through his hair to keep it slicked back and then he slipped his hands back into his jacket pockets and walked into the ballroom and found a corner to stand in. He Noticed Marla and he offered her a nod, hoping there weren’t any hard feelings lingering from the time he punched her.
From where he stood in his corner-ish area he could see the doors that led into the ballroom so he could see who showed up and when. If he was going to get blindsided by someone who had issue with him he’d rather notice when they arrived.

Gryffindor Ball
The prefect walked into the ballroom, his dress robes seeming to be a bit unusual for him. He looked at them with a bit of disgust..he wasn't exactly fond of the way they fit. The straightened his tie as he followed all of the other Gryffindors into the ballroom and looked around to see how the festivities had turned out. He had helped set up the Scavenger Hunt up in the Great Hall, but he had decided to not look at how the ballroom looked until he first entered. In short, it looked fantastic.
The young writer quickly scrambled to get out his small notebook and started documenting everything about the room. The table cloths, the streamers, the glorious chandelier, how the people looked, everything. He wanted to have some sort of scene in his book where there was a dane, and this could be a potential option for how the room might look. He planned to have the main character meet their love interest at this ball. Maybe accidentally use a love potion for them or something like that. Seeing the ballroom that was usually empty lit up like this and hearing the chatter of students made the Gryffindor feel like his creative juices were about to overflow. He couldn't wait to see how else the night would turn out.
Emile scanned the room for anyone he might possibly know. There were tons of kids already in the room, and most of them he didn't know. Even though he was a prefect he still didn't really know many people. He secretly wished that some people from the other houses might have been allowed into the ball. He wanted to say hello to them too, but since this was Gryffindor only he concluded that would probably not happen tonight. He sighed to himself as he looked back up. He spotted Aurelia, his fellow prefect, Kyle someone who he hadn't met yet but had seen around the common room and in classes, and..Marla! His friend. He could tell it was her immediately because of her hair. She was wearing sweatpants. Emile couldn't help but chuckle a bit as he looked at her. He kind of internally fought with himself about whether or not he should go and say hi. He didn't want to seem..clingy or something, but he also did want to say hello to her. She was the only person he actually knew out of the people in the ballroom so far. In the end, he walked over to her and stuffed his notebook back into his robes.
"Hey, Marla!" Said the black haired boy, giving her a small wave as he stood next to her. "Isn't this place amazing?" He chimed, looking up at the chandelier for probably the one thousandth time since he got here. "Did you not see the thing about dressing formally?" He questioned, in regards to her sweatpants. Before she could answer, he quickly got out his notebook and started to write about those too. This night was already turning out to be quite the novelty. Literally. In his head, that was meant to be a joke about him being able to get material for his novels from this event, and he also decided in his head he would never say that again. One thing Emile was not was a comedian.

Lallie followed the crowd as they made their way to the ballroom. She had asked a girl she shared the same dorm with who was going back to the dorm to put her goodies down on her bed which was good forward thinking. Now she didn't have to worry about them.
She had gotten a paper that she hadn't read yet, but it was probably important. She also had gotten a chess set at the last second which was great because her parents wouldn't let her bring the one she has at home with her.
Aurelia, one of the Gryffindor perfects, had said to dispose of or eat the chocolate frogs. That was a little odd considering she just let us take them at the end of the scavenger hunt, but she didn't mind. She had already eaten hers and had gotten an Albus Dumbledore mystic card which was awesome.
Walking into the ballroom she was amazed by all the decorations laid around the room. It looked similar to the Great Hall, but with a more elegant touch to it. She looked up at the chandelier hanging above everyone glistening and covered in red streamers. She had always loved this place's architecture.
'Glad I wore something a little nicer.' Lallie thought flattening her golden blouse a bit. She could've worn a dress or skirt but was glad she didn't, considering the scavenger hunt was a bit chaotic.
She looked around for a familiar face, but couldn't find any. At least not yet. She was one of the first ones to go in the ballroom so she will probably see someone she knows soon. She decided to sit at one of the ballroom's rounded tables and wait for everyone to fill in.

What a life to be living! Going on a fun scavenger hunt with her peers, then going to dance at a ball! Just for the amazing Gryffindors! Though, it would've been much more fun to listen to some crazy pop music than some oldies playing from a gramophone. Even so, Millie hadn't seen one of those since she went into an antique store with her mother six years ago. Man, times do change.
She followed the rest of her house into the ballroom, where the prefect, Aurelia, told them to throw away or eat their chocolate frogs. She did so enjoyably, for, she couldn't eat chocolate. And it wasn't like they weren't even that good. People had their expectations too low.
The ballroom was very pretty. With the red streamers strung about the room, and red table cloths over circular tables. They had sweets on them and drinks as well. It was like someone had put real effort into making this room as beautiful as possible. It was amazing that the prefect and Professor Wright had really given this room life.
Still wearing her black jumpsuit, Millie let her feet walk around the room as the rest of the Gryffindors dispersed. She had looked around, trying to find someone she recognized. Meenauh, Isaac, Lucian, or Maxwell-
And then her heart gave a great leap. She had been looking around the room when she saw a red-head girl she recognized. She was sitting at a table and wearing a very pretty golden blouse. It wouldn't be too difficult to just walk over and start a conversation. It wasn't ever hard for her to talk before, so why would it be now?
Millie walked over to the red table, and offered the girl, Lallie, a brave smile. The self-consciousness of being in a black jumpsuit next to a pretty girl in a cute outfit hit her like a wave. But she had to be a Gryffindor. Be brave.
"Hey Lallie," She began fiddling with the strings on the jumpsuit as she spoke. "You look really pretty!"
Not too bad. But why was it so hard to talk to the other girl anyway?

Lamik entered the ballroom as well dressed as he was during the scavenger hunt: Black sweatpants and a white t-shirt. There had been no obvious way for him to get something better to wear in between the two events, so the boy decided that he would simply be one of the people who stood out the least in the room. He didn't mind, of course. Though Lamik wasn't directly opposed to drawing attention to himself he didn't go out of his way to be noticed either. He was many things, including childish at times, but vainness was never something that would be used to describe the blond boy.
As much as Lamik didn't mind parties and social gatherings, one thing that he absolutely hated was being alone when one was taking place. It tended to make him feel awkward and out of place, so he usually did his best to avoid such situations. In this case, Lamik didn't exactly know what to do or who to approach, as while there were some people that he knew inside the ballroom (most notably Emile), they all seemed to be doing their own thing. Wondering how long he should stay and enjoy the beautiful decorations before trying to leave, Lamik headed to the edges of the room and stood by the wall.

Lallie was looking at the Gryffindors filing in, looking for someone she knew. Thinking about it she didn't really know many Gryffindors. Sure she recognized some of them from her classes, but they weren't exactly friends.
Lallie then noticed someone walking up to her. Her heart skipped, it was Millie! 'There's that warm feeling again.' Lallie though as Millie walked up to where she was sitting.
"Hey Millie," Lallie said brushing back a strand of hair. She likes the way she feels around Millie, but she also hates how awkward she is talking to her and being around her in general.
"Thank you!" Lallie said blushing, "You look really pretty too! That jumpsuit looks great on you." Lallie felt like a bombshell had exploded in her head when Millie called her pretty. Lallie never really got complimented and Lallie didn't really think she was pretty herself, so for Millie of all people to say that was amazing.
"So what did you find at the scavenger hunt?" Lallie asked trying to continue the conversation. Lallie wasn't the best conversationist so that was probably her best go at trying to continue the conversation. She looked up at Millie getting pulled into those amethyst eyes. She also realized that she was looking up at Millie.
"Oh, Millie you can sit down if you want." Lallie said. She didn't really go to dances so she didn't know if you were supposed to sit at the tables, or just stand by the dancing area when you were talking.

Gryffindor Ball
The Ball was almost empty, as if suspended and strung from a dream.@Lamik Fillestar | mention @Lallie Luna | @Euphrasia Millie | @Marla Quinlan | @Kyle Derook | @Emile Yorke
Streamers littered the floor, the usual red and gold, shocking against the polished brown flooring. The ceiling vaulted over their heads, adorned with chandeliers casting glimmering and glowing light. Gold touched everything in this place, from the slight veins carved into the wall, to the fringe of the crimson tablecloths.
It was most certainly a Gryffindor celebration.
But there was another prize to be found: the decadent platters of deserts lying on the tables. Some french pastries, cakes of all shapes and sizes, piles of fruit and pies stuffed to the brim. The whole ballroom had the lingering scent of sweetness and sugar, and mixed with the soft classical music, was dizzying to look at.
It was nice.
But Isaac didn't think that he got on well with Gryffindors. Whenever he was in a room with them, there always seemed to be a fight, or a disagreement, or some sort of drama. He'd seen the signs too many times; it couldn't be a coincidence.
Besides, a Ball was dull without friends.
The half-blood was still wearing the same old clothing from the scavenger hunt. A rumpled uniform with tears at the sleeves hung loose over his frame. A tiny ruby lion pin was attached to it, just like any standard blazer. His trousers were plain and dull grey, and his shoes were even less notable. Between his plain outfit, red-rimmed eyes and messy hair, he didn't look fit to even be in a ballroom.
Glancing around the room, he realized that the 'usuals' were there, hanging around like a mob of bats. There was one girl he didn't recognize. Her back was turned to him, and she had a cascade of bright orange hair, as blinding as the golden blouse she wore.
Millie, dressed dashingly, went over to speak with the stranger. Her violet gaze brightened upon seeing a new face. He felt a twinge of dismay, considering that Millie was one of the only people he was on okay terms with. But he figured that she wanted to get to know the girl, so he let her be.
Fillestar, the blonde, was slumping into the corner. He was surprised that the kid looked so terribly lonely. He always thought that Fillestar was good friends with the others. Although he was a slight jerk at the Bathroom incident, Isaac never thought that he deserved to be isolated.
Quinlan's fiery mane of red hair was visible from a mile away. Wearing fleecy sweatpants, she directed her comments to the brunette boy at her side. A familiar boy, now that he thought of it. He was sure he'd seen this Gryffindor at the Explorers' Club, soft grey journal tucked into his hand, joy in his voice. His expression was open, eyes rounded with wonder, and he found that he couldn't help but think of him as good-natured.
Going past the door, Isaac spotted a student leaning back in the pool of shadows. He froze at the sight of Kyle, feeling on edge for a few heartbeats. The boy was wearing a black leather jacket with torn jeans and tall boots. The glinting chain he wore screamed of death, murder and blood. It was dark and edgy. It read of a threat.
But his freeze was a tiny error, a glitch. Afterwards, he strode past Kyle as if the student were invisible. He wasn't willing to start up anything, not tonight. Grimly, he was all too aware of the possibility of this ball going wrong too.
Aurelia Gesundheit was crazy. What was the point of a Ball without a dance? He wasn't about to dance with any of these people. Thinking of dancing with them made him feel a strangled sort of amusement.
Imagine dancing with Kyle. He'd probably cut my head off mid-step and say it was an accident.
He quietly snorted to himself before shaking his head.
But his brief smile faded. A small sense of loss filled him, realizing that he was alone, just as alone as if he were a random Ravenclaw or Slytherin or Hufflepuff. He never meant to make so many enemies, especially out of his own House. But what was done, was done. Kyle would likely hate him for life; Marla's first impression had been ruined months ago; the stranger likely wouldn't want anything to do with him; the nice Gryffindor - Emile! that was his name - was already occupied with Marla; he was unsure whether or not Fillestar was past the Bathroom fiasco.
Running a burned hand through his tangled hair, he walked over to the refreshments table. Wearily, he grabbed two eclairs, holding them gingerly. Prizes in hand, he retreated to one of the corners of the room.
Fillestar was standing in one of the corners. Awkwardness radiated from him in waves, mingled with shame. It was there in his drooping shoulders and downcast blue eyes. The kid really was alone. His head was bowed, and his blonde hair looked like spun gold in the light.
Isaac glanced at the eclairs in his hand, and then back at Fillestar. Eclairs, Fillestar.
His heart softened slightly. Loneliness was all too familiar. "Want an eclair? I got one too many." He didn't look the boy in the eye. "It's fine if you're still mad from before. I was a twat too, snapping like that and causing a row."

Lallie complimented her.
MAYDAY! MAYDAY! Houston, we have a problem! Your 12-year-old witch is dying at Hogwarts! A pretty girl complimented her, what on Earth was happening? Millie was the complete opposite of pretty. Maybe the jumpsuit ignored all laws of Physics? Was that what was happening? Internal panic attack!
More people began entering and she was able to look around long enough for her pink cheeks to turn back to their normal color. As she was looking about, she saw Isaac, who was also looking around. She waved at him. He was nice to her, so she might as well return the favor. She also caught sight of Marla, her fiery red hair among the crowd of students, and she waved to her too.
Finally she could feel the heat in her cheeks grow cold, and she was able to turn back to Lallie. Who asked her what she found at the scavenger hunt.
"I found a fake Hogsmeade Perm slip. Cool, isn't it?" She pulled out the crumbled slip and looked it at. It did look pretty legit, but Millie wasn't to worry about that now. "What about you?"
Millie sat down next to Lallie after being invited. Later, dancing would be fun, but for now, she needed to gain just a little bit of confidence. It wasn't like dancing was difficult. Though, maybe for Isaac. Not to be mean.
"Do you like dancing?" She asked Lallie.
