Holly lets out a sigh of relief, and sits down in a corner, holding her back in front of her, she takes her shades off and puts it in her rode's hood. It sure was troublesome to walk through the crowd in the dimly lit station with those in, the worst part was that she was holding her bag, so she had to way to take them off. She had to use the hood as a pocket because she was being silly when she didn't bother to bring a big, heavy trunk and decided to bring that bag this morning.
She smile towards the three girls in the train.
"Hi, Shelby, Millie and Erika...... It's amazing to be here, this is actually unreal."
she rubs the bruise on her elbow from running into the wrong wall when entering the platform, and proceeds to take books out of her bag and stuff all the various objects tucked away in her pockets and hood into the bag, the bag wasn't as stuffed and heavy as it was when she entered the compartment. She shrugs.
"Guess I'll be carrying the books myself."
with that she sets the books on the ground, and hears Shelby talk about the Houses.
"I-I don't really know... I kind of think in weird ways... I might want to be in Ravenclaw... not because they're smart, not because they're well... anything really..."
Holly blushes a little, embarrassed by what she's about to give as a reason.
"I know I'm probably not nerdy enough to get into Ravenclaw... but i really... really like their choice of... color. Otherwise... i don't really mind... i mean Gryffindor seems pretty nice as well... anything but Slytherin would be fine with me, because I'm not really the... competitive sort of student and... I don't like deep green."
Holly awkwardly smiles after giving the weird response.
"Good job, me"
Holly thinks to herself in a sarcastic way.

How amazing, another girl entered the compartment! What a time to be alive, and make plenty of friends! What an exotic adventure to be spending the trip surrounded by good friends.
She introduced herself as Holly and sat down. Millie offered her a brave smile, and tried to bring her courage to the room. Her courageous and happiness was something that could be so easily transmitted if there was enough of it. Strength and beauty brought up into oneself as long as you kept it up. Maybe that was something Millie would be able to do, but it would take quite a while to find out. Maybe years or months, or even decades. Who knew?
Then the topic of Hogwarts houses came into view. Millie shrugged. What house would she be in? Ilvermorney had cool houses. Like Thunderbird and Pukwudgie, but Millie knew barely anything about Hogwarts houses. Gryffindors were the red brave kids, Ravenclaws were the smarty blue kids, Hufflepuff's were the kind, yellow kids, and Slytherins were ambitious green kids. Maybe she belonged in Gryffindor or Hufflepuff. Maybe Slytherin, but definitely not Ravenclaw. She wasn't even that smart.
"I think I'd be in Gryffindor. I'm pretty brave and arrogant, but maybe Slytherin because I'm really Ambitious. Who knows? The Sorting Hat will tell me."

Holly looks at Mille as she shares her bravery and courage, and shows a wide smile towards her.
"I bet you would look stunning with a red tie. My best bet is probably to think about smart stuff when the sorting hat sorts me maybe some coding? but then it probably wont understand me...... well...... no harm to try I guess."
Holly starts to look at one of the robes she wasn't wearing and starts to unfold it, and suddenly, her face lights up in excitement and delight, she lays it on her lap, putting the stack of books on top of it, she thinks a little, looking up at the roof, then proceeds to fold the bottom of the robe over the stack of new books, she then folds the upper half on top then secures the stack with the hood of the robe, sealing the opening, she then ties a firm knot with the sleeves of the robe to prevent the books from slipping out of place.
"Annnnnnd there. Hah! Two in one!"
Holly seems satisfied at the fact that later when they arrive she won't have to worry about the books in between slipping out of her hands. She happily tucks the package under her seat on top of her bag.
She finally settles down. Her expression shifts from joy to confusion and uncertainty as she starts to think about her future again.
"I really have a question that I maybe need advice on though... after you graduate, what would you do with magic? "
Holly was unsure what she'd end up achieving or doing with this knowledge that she left her family in order to learn, she was unsure if it was worth it.

[[OOC: Hey guys, would it be too much to ask if we could follow a posting order? That way nobody gets left behind and the thread remains easy to follow!

Erika allowed the others to talk around her, not really feeling like offering much to the conversation at hand at that precise moment. While she had been taught to follow the be seen, not heard rule growing up - more often than not Erika didn't mind it. She was able to learn things about others that way and catalog them away for another time. Taking her Herbology book out of her bag, where she had stored it for some train reading, she opened it to the last page that she had been on. Every now and again she tuned back into the conversation at hand but looked up when the conversation picked up again. "I'm most likely going to either Slytherin or Ravenclaw,"she said quietly, "It is expected of me, the sorting pattern for my family hasn't ever changed really." She then tucked the fallen piece of hair behind her again ear again, "I can already tell Hufflepuff wouldn't be for me, or Gryffindor for that matter, but, then again, I've never really given any of it much thought...I've always assumed Slytherin or Ravenclaw."
Frowning slightly at Holly's next words Erika couldn't help but pipe up, "What's coding?" she asked. Being a pureblood in the modern age, there was some muggle technology had been adapted into the wizarding world, yet at the same time not all of it was known to the wizarding families. She watched quietly again as Holly did something with her luggage and an eyebrow arched ever so slightly, "You didn't get a trunk I take it?"quizzed Erika with a slight smile, "They are really helpful with storage, luckily the house elves will transport everything up to the dormitories once we're sorted though. My brother said students usually leave their belongings on the train."
When graduation was mentioned, Erika found herself coming up blank until a small idea formed - all connected to the wand that was tucked safely in the wand pocket of the robes that she wore. "There's plenty of jobs available in our world, "she offered as an answer, "Both of my parents work in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, my mother works in the Wizengamot Administration Services, and my father works in the Investigation Department - but there's so much to offer than just the Ministry of Magic." She went quiet for a few more seconds again before answering, "I think I'd like to be a healer though, one day. At St Mungo's."

Shelby listened intently at their answers, trying to get a better idea. She figured it was good that she got points of views from people who grew up in the wizarding world, rather just rely on information from the books she's read. Her Aunt had gone to Ilvermorny so she had next to no clue about how Hogwarts worked. Shelby knew that the Sorting Hat chose things, the students had next to no choice in the matter.
Most of them said Gryffindor, so that gave her some sort of ease. She admired all of the Houses by Gryffindor and Hufflepuff sounded the most appealing. Besides, she didn't want to feel pressured to do more than her best in Ravenclaw, or feel weighed down with despite if she got into Slytherin. She had nothing against the House of Serpents yet, but just the sound of the name—disregarding the stories—made her uncomfortable.
The girls began talking about their families and what Houses they got into. Shelby stayed noticeably quiet, quickly turning her head to stare out the window. She smiled little but she was really sad, missing her own family. America seemed too far away, far enough that it somehow felt like she wouldn't see her family again. She forced herself to keep her face calm, without a trace of melancholy or anger, she seemed somewhat pleased.
Shelby was glad that Holly asked about post-Hogwarts jobs, she really needed that conversation to change. She turned back to the group, listening as Erika talked about her own family having interesting jobs. From what she could understand, they worked in something equivalent to a police department. That made Shelby raise her brows in approval, a magic police sounded cool.
She then mentioned St. Mungo's, which was some sort of hospital. Shelby couldn't stay quiet this time. "So you want to be like, like a nurse? That's cool." She pulled out her wand, the one she got from Ollivander's. It was 30.4 centimeters long and was made of chestnut wood and unicorn hair. That list bit tickled her; unicorns truly existed.
Shelby looked at Erika. "What is your wand made of? I know some parts of wands make it easier to heal others." She waved her own wand around a little, accidentally issuing a spark of yellow sparks. Giggling, she added, "Mine is made from chestnut wood and unicorn hair—Mr. Ollivander said that the unicorn bit makes the wand difficult to control, and I can understand why." She didn't also add the fact that it also made her wand extremely powerful, maybe they didn't need to know that.

Ah yes, the pure-blood-ism of the Wizarding world. Erika didn't seem to understand the concept of coding, and the thought almost made Millie laugh. Not to be mean or anything, it was just interesting how she knew so much about the both worlds. Coding and how magic worked. Perhaps that in itself was magic.
Then the topic changed like lightning. What to do after the your career at Hogwarts was done and finished. Jobs, something to do when learning magic was done. Millie had already researched everything she wanted to do, and smiled tentatively. After she had listening to everyone else, she spoke up.
"Personally, I want to be a wand-maker," And luckily, Shelby brought up the wands. Millie leaned over to her trunk, and pulled it open. After she pushed away quite a few books and bags, she removed a 9.3 inch long wand. The golden-y rose colored wand seemed to sparkle in the train light.
"This is a 9.3 inch, or 23.7 centimeter Cherry wood and Unicorn hair wand. It's supposed to be pretty powerful, and is really good at both healing and hexing. Mr. Ollivander told me that, while Unicorn hair isn't particularly powerful, with Cherry wood, it would prove itself useful. Quirky, innit?"
She was about to replace her wand in her trunk, before she realized that Holly didn't have a trunk to put her things in. Millie removed a large empty bag and tossed it over to the blonde with a smile.
"It's not the biggest bag, but I hope you don't have to carry everything in your arms!"

Holly catches the bag, and smiles at Millie.
"Ayy, thanks Millie, I'll be sure to return this after the uh... elves? whoever they are take care of getting my stuff to the dorm."
She sounded really relaxed and has that 'everything's gonna be okay' look on her face, she's always been like that all her life, she had nothing to worry about, her parents took care of everything, when she got into trouble, they usually talk the principal of her school out of expelling her, sure, they warn her and ground her but never in Holly's life have her parents yelled at her. When she hacked her way into a website, her mother helped patch all the traces left behind and left the website unharmed, she never had to worry about food as her father was quite a creative chef, her grandfather taught her how to accurately read others and figure out what they were thinking and how they felt, so she could bail out before getting busted when she sees doubt in her teacher's eyes, and most of all she had her parents all to herself, being the single child she is, she had all the love.
She sees that everybody was showing their wands and she grabs the wooden stick out of her pocket.
"Well, here's my glow-stick. According to the guy in the store this one is springy and excels at something called hexes? and also uh its also a great healing wand obviously, anyway it's 23,3 cm, and made of aspen wood and snallygaster heartstring. And I have no idea what those are."
Holly focuses a little and the tip of the wand glows in clean white light.
"i managed to do only that... "
In fact that was why she decided to refer to wands as 'glow-sticks' since she is still quite childish and likes to name things differently.
"Well... when I grow up... i have no idea what I want to end up becoming... I-I'm thinking of a normal, muggle job. It might seem weird but I've always loved chemistry and logical thinking... maybe I want to become a forensic scientist, but that can change..."
Holly knows that she's doing that typical head tilt her grandfather told her about people who are uncertain. And she isn't doing anything to hide it.

Listening to the others, Erika took out her wand from the wand pocket of her robes. Smiling gently as she twirled it around her fingers, she decided to join back in with the conversation at hand. "Well...Mr Ollivander informed me that my wand is made out of silver-lime wood with a core of unicorn hair, one of the more common cores from what I have read." she explained, taking time to admire the wand work again, it was truly beautiful, before looking up with surprise at the others a few of the other girls mentioned similar information about their wands, "I was told that my wand is also good for healing charms as well as hexes." She placed her wand back into its pocket again before crossing her hands over her lap and listening to the others again.
She watched with amusement as Millie gave Holly a bag to put her items in before turning to Millie again, "Becoming a wand-maker sounds amazing, "she spoke, "Have you got any books on it? From what I know a lot of wand-makers guard their wand-making skills very well and they are so secretive, would you become an apprentice do you think?"
