Another wave of healing incantations resounded from their opponents side. It was understandable move albeit a bit frustrating. Eun-ji could not complain however, she was no longer on fire and there was far less damage done than she expected. While the Slytherin team looked to be in a pretty good shape now, the energies still seemed to be somehow evenly matched. Something she didn’t dare to hope for at the beginning of the duel. She suddenly felt bad for underestimating her own team. Although there had been multiple failed spells, they managed to hold their ground against the three senior duellists quite well in the end. At this point, she couldn’t really tell who was going to be the winning team. Well…I guess, we’ll just have to give it our best and see…

“Flipendo!”

Even as the words left Cassius' lips, the boy knew it was a well cast spell. Not perfect. Just very well cast. It was all the more satisfying then when it found its target striking the most senior Slytherin duellist on the field.

By Cassius' measure, the duel was nearing its finale. All duellists were still standing but he felt the next few moments might decide it all. Despite a heavy disadvantage, they had fared well. He was proud of his team and all they had accomplished this year.

Action:
As strategized.

Left completely untargeted, two-thirds of the Slytherin team wisely did not attempt to test the limits of their relative safety. Even if it could not staunch the strange bloodshed afflicting Astrea's injured teammates, the familiar fallback of doubled Reparifors would have to suffice. The fog was beginning to thin and with its gradual disappearance, so too was their time to act. Without Hogwarts' participation in the summer games, their entire year's results truly did rest on this duel's shoulders. There was surely one final chance to seize glory.

With her mental clock ticking, it was irritating to not do something grander, stronger, to be dealing decisive blows so as to say see, we've won. But the fog was still there, thick and blurring, and she'd be tempting luck by trying to cast through it. The safest option was the boring one, Reparifors once again leaving her lips and lighting up her wand. At this point, the shaky exhaustion of earlier had been chased off, and now, all there was to do was as Dmitri said: make this count.

Meenauh was thinking to already stop the duel, as she already sighed to see Slytherin kind of in bad shape. Maybe after the previous defeat, the Vipers couldn't pull it any more. Not just against them (the Gryffindors), but lower years as well. It must have been some yearly accumulated duelling fatigue or something.

But the last seconds of the duel were quite... no, I repeat quite spectacular.

Eun-ji decently double healed herself and Damion, giving them even more space and paved the road to potential win. Damion threw the shield to make sure the road was crystallised and avoid any damage taken.

Astrea followed with a Reparifors as well, returning Dmitri and Bridget to the battle. Not that they really needed it after the previous round of healing, but better safe than sorry. And sorry they wouldn't be.

Cassius threw a split Flipendo, which reached Astrea, while she was healing her fellow snakes, but Dmitri managed to turn around and let it just pass through the place he was standing just a second ago. Meenauh's brows flew up, but this wasn't just that. Together in unison Dmitri and Bridget cast their last spells of this year. And Dmitri cast his last spell ever within these grounds. They sent three Confringos towards the Ravenclaws: two of them headed towards Eun-ji, both hitting her from the sides, nearly dropping her to the ground, barely conscious. The third went right towards the shield Damion was carefully maintaining. The spell bounced and changed it direction towards Cassius, who didn't manage to dodge it in time and received the full blow.

It was done.

"Halt!" Meenauh almost screamed at the top of her lungs, "It's over."

She jumped on to the stage and looked at both sides of it, then turned towards the audience.

"Congratulate the winners of the last duel of this year — Viridian Vipers!" she proclaimed and clapped her hands, which drowned in the erupted volcano of applause. It was a spectacular comeback, and the victory was well-deserved.
