There was not much time left, and the Slytherins were going in for the kill. There was only one first year girl left to represent the Ravenclaw team, and she was hurt. Panic HAD to be setting in now, Jake thought. He knew it would be if it was him. With two against one, it was hard to even get a foothold - any time you put your eye on one opponent, there was always a chance of the other one hitting you hard. It was hard to avoid two spells at once, while also casting...and maybe that was why Inara went on the defensive. There wasn't much choice, as the Slytherins instantly started throwing flipendos in her direction once again. It would only take one to bring her down to the platform for good, but she wasn't going down easy. Inara would duck and dodge, Draven's spell just narrowly going over her left shoulder, and Pyxis's especially powerful spell zooming past where her head had been just a moment before. Unfortunately, as they kept her on the defensive, she didn't have a moment's breath to cast herself.

Inara would avoid damage, for now, but as Jake watched the clock, he wondered if she was going to be able to try and win, or just manage to survive. He supposed survival was a small victory in itself, but the Slytherin team didn't look like they were going to let her. They needed just one more spell to win, Jake was almost sure of it. But could they catch her? Could she get her footing and shoot back with something powerful? There was almost no more time left!

After his and Draven's success with their last spells, the Ravenclaw had suddenly become slippery. Pyxis didn't understand the logic of forgoing a cast to jump out of the way of their spells, but he also knew he wasn't the one outnumbered and on the verge of unconsciousness. Following the moderator's eyes to the clock, he estimated that they would each only have time to get one more spell in. Time to make it count.

It was truly a valiant effort from the remaining Ravenclaw - pushed to the edge by her opponents, and with no more friends standing beside her, she refused to give up. The Slytherins were on the attack, two-on-one, and though Inara was forced onto the offensive, she wasn't ready to stop casting. Two spells came from the Slytherins - perfect castings the both of them - a knockback jinx from Draven and a dancing-feet spell from Pyxis. Somehow, amazingly, Inara managed to duck away from the both of them - and fired back with an Incendio of her own. Perhaps Draven would be surprised to see the sleeve of his robes light - the fire spell hitting its mark.

No matter what happened with the scoring, Inara could be proud of the effort she had put in. But there was no doubt who had won this duel.

"And that's time!" Jake called out, waving his hands, before any more spells could be thrown. He wasted no time extinguishing the flames from poor Draven. He nodded towards Inara, who had really shown some bravery and strength as she fought back against overwhelming odds.

"Nice job everyone," Jake nodded with approval. "The winner of this duel is Slytherin!" he called out, to nobody's surprise - they had shown impressive team-work between Pyxis and Draven, when Lucian had been unable to continue. They truly were a force to be reckoned with. They had systematically taken out each one of their opponents, but Inara could at least be proud they hadn't finished the job.
