Lallie was sitting at one of the many wooden tables students are allowed to sit in at the Library. Sitting close to the back end of the library the window shone the summer sun through its panes. The natural light shone on Lallie as well as the pages of The Monster Book of Monsters open on a page describing the mischievous natures of Imps. Lallie normally would be reclining on the cushy Victorian-style chairs reading wizard philosophy, or fictional stories, but today she was hunched over writing down notes on Imps needed for her to make an essay for her DADA class.

After she sucked all the information needed from that book Lallie got up and walked over to the shelf she found the book. Lallie placed the book snuggly in the space reserved for it on the shelf. She was about to walk back to the table she was just sitting at to start working on her essay when she heard a slight, continuous noise. Listening closer she could make out the sound. CRUNCH CRUNCH CRUNCH the sound went in rhythm. 'Was someone eating food in the library?' Lallie thought. She decided to look through the shelves to investigate.

Walking past many shelves and peering into the aisles between them to see if anyone was eating anything Lallie came across two shelves that were positioned in a way that the aisle in between them was almost invisible to anyone who was just leisurely walking by. Walking into the aisle she was met by a boy that looked around her age munching on what looked like a bag of chips.

"Hey, I don't think you're supposed to be eating in the library. Especially with something as messy as chips." Lallie said quietly not wanting to alert anyone to their presence.

Lamik had walked deep into the library that day, determined to find something interesting to read. He had brought an innocent snack with him, of course, as the boy was feeling slightly hungry. Lamik didn't really know that it was against the rules to eat inside of the library, though his ignorance of the rule was really there because of his disinterest in reading up on the rules themselves. He figured that even if it was a rule violation, it wasn't a very severe one, as magic could probably clean all stains and remove all crumbs with some spell or other. As he was eating and scanning the shelves for a new book to read while he waited for his parents to send him something from home, Lamik heard a female voice speak up quietly:

"Hey, I don't think you're supposed to be eating in the library. Especially with something as messy as chips."

"Huh." He said after swallowing what was in his mouth at that moment. Eyeing the girl, Lamik came to the conclusion that she must know what she was doing. Not that he really minded as Lamik couldn't really bother to go outside, finish eating, then come back, instead figuring that it would be fine as long as he didn't do it again. The boy turned back towards the bookshelves and kept looking, taking another chip out of the bag and taking a bite.

When the boy took another bite of the chips and then put the chips back in the bag Lallie was happy as he assumed he got the message and was putting it away. Then he took out another bag of chips and proceeded to eat it!

Lallie was fine with talking to people when she sees them doing something against the rules in a "Hey, don't do that." kind of way, but she didn't like actually confronting people. She knew that it would be stupid to get a teacher or perfect because the boy was just eating food, it wasn't that serious. Lallie did want him to stop though. If he got stains or crumbs somewhere it would be the House Elves' jobs to clean it up and she didn't want them to do any more work than they needed to. After all, she was an active S.P.E.W. supporter.

Lallie finally came up with an idea that wouldn't require her to confront him. At least not in an aggressive way.

Lallie walked up to the boy and simply said, "A-are you really going to eat two bags of chips? It's only an hour before dinner and I heard they were serving ginger newts at dessert today. I'd want to save room for that!" Lallie said trying to sway the boy into putting the chips away.
