Gryffindor Scavenger Hunt Gryffindors

Round 3 Results
@Meenauh Silmatautea | Roll Result | 5
Meenauh would search in a small hole in the cut logs, so small that her fingers could barely fit through. However, fumbling around, her fingers would not contact with anything but wood and dust. It took quite some effort to get her fingers out of the hole.

@Lamik Fillestar | Roll Result | 11
Lamik would duck under one of the benches in search of a lion plushie. After barely a minute of searching, a red Lion Plushie would come into view. Upon lifting the Plushie, he would find a pretty Pink Tea cup, a red ribbon was tied in a bow around the handle.

@Raine Sage | Roll Result | 15
A daring Scavenger hunter, this one. She would cast the Levitation Charm on herself and float upwards like a feather towards the chandeliers. Her head would bump on the massive rim, thankfully, her hair had not caught fire from on of the many candles. Raine would find a quill, one of the fancier ones, a Peacock Feather. Now the only problem was find a way to get down safely.

@Scott Alexander | Roll Result | 15
Scott would duck under the professors table in search for another gift. Barely a minute of crawling under the table, something bright pink fluff ball would catch his eye that had an uncanny resemblance to a Pygmy Puff. However, upon contact the soft object would remain still. Scott would realise that it was in fact a Pygmy Puff... Slipper. Not far away laid the second sole. If the twelve year old were to try it on, it would be a size or two too big and could possibly last for a few years more.

@Alan Vanes | Roll Result | 5
This time round, instead of following Scott, the other Gryffindor would search around the plants hoping that the ex-herbology professor might have hidden something there. However, it had been Aurelia who hid the gifts not the plant-loving Head of House who might have hidden the gifts in every one of the potted plants if she had done it herself. So Alan would not find anything in this pot but dead leaves on the moist soil.

@Lallie Luna | Roll Result | 18
Lallie, like her senior, Scott, would head over to the Professors table. Instead of crawling under, she would crawl on the table towards the large vase. Her finger would fumble inside the vase and touch something soiled. If she were to pull in out, she would find that it was a wet piece of Fake Permission Form.

@Marla Quinlan | Roll Result | 12
Marla would remove a painting off the wall, it wasn’t a large one. In the wall was a large hole, possibly one made by a bludger. Perhaps the painting was intended to hide it. In the hole Marla would find a simple wooden box. She would open it to find a Gobstone Set.

@Galton Lansdale | Roll Result | 18
A determined Galton would crawl under the Ravenclaw table in search of a gift. He would find a yellowing slip of paper on the ground and if she were to look closely, the girl would find that it was a Fake Permission Slip. Was this one of the gifts? Or had someone dropped it. Nevertheless, finders keepers.
Gifts would be given out shortly. Please owl me if you have not received your gifts. This hunt is still open to ALL Gryffindors. Only one more round to go! I strongly encourage you to participate as there are tons of freebies going to be given away! Ask as many of your Gryffindor friends over, the more the merrier. @Marla Quinlan, @Scott Alexander, @Galton Lansdale, @Lallie Luna,
@Euphrasia Millie, D18s will be used for you instead for your proceeding searches as you have already gotten one of the bigger prizes. Btw, all rolls are done on discord in case you are wondering. Next Modding will be on Friday.

One by one, the students of her house would find the gifts she had hidden. Aurelia would watch carefully ensuring that no one got hurt. It wasn’t until one of the Gryffindros pulled a spell on herself and went floating upwards did Aurelia react. “Godverdomme,” She curse under her breath in Dutch as she sprinted towards where the girl was up above in the air.

Wingadium Leviosa, a spell that was only temporary. It was a matter of time before the spell worn off. The last thing Aurelia expected was for someone to fall to their deaths during a simply game of Scavenger Hunt. She would have Sorrel to answer to if that happened. “Finite Incantem,” The second year said and with the wave of her wand, light from the spell shot up towards the girl and she began to float downwards like a reverse of how she did upwards. Aurelia caught the girl in her arms in a bridal way.

Scott laughed a little, when Alan insisted on the bottle being fake. Not at his friend, definitely not- but if there were two things you learned from being Benedict Jones' little brother (which Scott just so happened to be) then they were these: exactly how much rule-breaking upperclassmen actually got up to, and every Zonko's joke article available in Great Britain. The shop didn't sell fake firewhiskey, because if they did then Scott would've heard about it- and been subjected to a concerning prank years ago.

"Practice schmactice..." He said nonchalantly to Alan from under the table, when his friend asked him if he planned on using his newfound broom to train. "I already like to fly. Don't need to do flips or anything..."

He crawled clumsily and fumbled before him with his eyes closed. He didn't actually know why he didn't keep them open, but barely any light would break through the thick cloth anyway and it added to the cave-exploring experience. Suddenly, one of his hands grazed over something very soft. At first he pulled it away as if by instinct, waiting for somebody's pet rat to squeal, but when his other hand fell on to the second slipper he realised he'd found another prize.

"Alan!" He shot up again, tumbling out from under the table as his hands were too full to support him. "Look what I found! They're pink and... oh my God Alan they have eyes. Should I wear these to the ball, do you think? It'd do wonders for my macho image. They're too big, though, I think..." Scott laughed, and stood again. What with his broom over his shoulder (the brush now by his waist), and with the two Pygmy Puff Slippers hanging off the end, he looked like he was going off on the strangest adventure...

"Where to, now?"

Many of their housemates had found a bunch of prizes of their own, and Scott wondered how many there were actually left... he studied the hall's architecture. People had already searched walls, portraits, floors and even the chandelier! Looking that way, Scott congratulated Aurelia in his mind with a snicker, for the great catch. But maybe flying wasn't the worst idea, so long as you had a safe way of doing it. And Scott did, after all, trust his abilities with the broom.

"Might as well try it out, now... Hey, Alan! I'll take a closer look at these friezes on the walls. They're deep enough to have something hidden there... and if not, well, how many chances do you get flying around the Great Hall?!" He laughed, and gestured to his friend. "Do you want to come on with? You can sit behind me, and- okay, okay! I'm not forcing you. No need to start hyperventilating."

Scott placed his new slippers on the Professor's Table, gave a smile to his friend who would very much like to stay on the floor, and mounted his broom without any further discussion. Kicking off into the air, and gripping the shaft tightly with two hands, he grazed around the room and along the stone and panel walls. He searched the frienzes and picture rails carefully, avoiding the candles near his hair. This was quite the broom.

Alan smiled. So Scott did like to fly, this gift was perfect for him them. Alan once passed by the window from the Quidditch Store and saw how expensive these brooms could be. Some even were a few hundreds of galleons, making Alan wondered how people carried so many galleons around. Muggles had this invention of paper money, but that was also weird. What kind of value did paper have? He could easily scribble any kind of number on a paper and technically it would have the same value or something like that. But galleons were actual value, had some gold in them.

”Do that-”, Alan laughed, or chuckled lightly as he stared at the Pygmy Puff slippers. ”I have some of those actually, they are comfy.” Alan smiled at the other Gryffindor, only for concern to shadow his face when Scott began talking about flying and worst of all flying together with him. He already began starting to shake his head vehemently when Scott gave up, before he watched the second year mount the broom and fly.

Leaving him be, Alan turned to look at the potted plant, his hands covered in moist dirt, not that he cared. He simply wiped them off his pants, which were black anyway so no one would notice that and began to push away the potted plant to look behind the pot that stood in the corner of the small stage that the professor table stood on. He reached there to see, if at least this time he would have any luck.

Putting your hands somewhere where they were not supposed to be was not a clever thing. Meenauh was imagining too much, which only distracted her. It was even not that there was nothing, or even could be, in the small hole between the cut logs. It was that getting the hand out was even more of a challenge.

After saving her limb, she went away from the fireplace and continued to look around. She was just unlucky as she saw other Gryffindors searching and finding. Maybe because they were already dressed for the ball? But if the world would want her to be dressed for the ball, she would at least have been able to reach the dorms before being dragged to the Great Hall. And to be honest it made no sense how clothes could influence luck. She murmured the last word several times to herself, which made her think about the famous liquid luck potion, Felix something. That would prove helpful. Apart from that, she didn't recall any other ways to increase probabilities. Especially, as the magic world could bend the laws of the muggle world, no scientific method would be proven useful there.

She had to think in a wizarding way. Wizards are known to bend the space. ("Right! Bigger on the inside!") That was an interesting clue to investigate. She tried searching for places that looked like they couldn't contain anything large. Quick scanning of the surroundings revealed the professors' table and a set of armour behind one of the seats. She rushed to it, pulled up the helmet's visor and tried to reach inside. This time the hole was at least bigger.

Lallie touched something solid. Peering into the vase she saw her hand had grabbed the corner of something thin and yellowed. 'Is that paper?' she thought wondering what could be inscribed on it. She carefully took it out of the vase with one hand and used the other hand to dig the paper out of its grave.

Now with the parchment in her hands, she could see that it was indeed paper and that it was damp. Not dripping damp, but enough that she would have to be extremely careful with this paper otherwise it would go RIP! So Lallie slowly rolled up the paper before hopping off the professor's table. She would read the paper later, now she had to look for more goodies.

As soon as her feet touched the ground Lallie saw a girl slowly floating to the ground and Aurelia, one of the Gryffindor perfects, catching her in her arms. A couple of students surrounded them, but most of the Gryffindors were just searching around ignoring anything, but the sweet reward of finding a goodie. 'She must have used a spell like Wingardium Leviosa or something to get to the chandelier.' Lallie thought, glad the girl was safely on the ground.

She was about to go looking for other goodies when she heard a boy laugh above her. Craning her head Lallie could see a boy that looked one to two years older than her flying around on a broom. 'Did he bring that, or ... no way!' Lallie thought coming to the realization that he found that on the scavenger hunt. She knew how expensive brooms could be so the school must be investing some serious money it to this hunt.

Lallie looked down at her hands and realized how dirty they were. She took out the napkin from her jean pocket she used as a makeshift plate for a cookie. She wiped the dirt off her hands and put it back in her pocket, making a mental note to throw it away.

Lallie then looked over at the front of the Great Hall. She noticed how the doors were opened and covered part of the wall. 'Hmm, maybe they put some stuff there knowing the door would be open and the goodies would, therefore, be hidden' Lallie thought.

Lallie walked over to the front hall, side walking past people who were on all fours looking under the House tables. She made sure she didn't go through the middle aisle which was crowded with students looking at the previously floating girl, or the side aisles which were swarmed with kids looking behind an in paintings.

When she reached the door she tried to open the giant door. She failed miserably of course since she's a tiny first year. Instead, she got down on all fours and put her hand through the crack between the wall and the door, trying to grasp for something.

A Teacup. Lamik had expected all sorts of prizes but a teacup wasn't one of them. Still, the boy wasn't disappointed. First, he found himself an adorable plushie and he now also had something to give to his mom as a present. As long as it didn't break at least. Carefully placing the cup on top of the lion inside of the black satchel Lamik looked around the great hall to see what others found. One boy holding a broomstick had found what appeared to be a pair of slippers. Lamik laughed at the absurdity of the prizes that people were finding. It almost felt as though the items were chosen randomly, but he couldn't complain. A gift was a gift.

Looking the hall over for somewhere to search, Lamik slipped his hands into his pocket with a sigh. There really didn't seem like there were many other places he could get to where he would be the first to search, so instead, he decided to just sit down and decide what he was going to do after the hunt. I'll probably just leave. Not like I'll have anything to do during the ball, and it would be nice to be alone in the common room for once.

Aha! Galton's idea had been spot on. Crawling around on the ground seemed to have paid off for this chipper like rascal. He had found a slip of paper. What exactly this paper was he wasn't sure. It looked like a legitimate document, but he would have more time to inspect the paper later. There was time left, and spoils to be found!

Galton crawled out from under the table in an awkward motion. It would take much to long to get to one of the ends of the table, so he had to make it through the side. And so he had two options, over the bench or under. Under would require Galton to really squeeze down, all the way on his stomach. So he went with his way, the high way. A stomach on a bench and then some pushing and his torso was out! He placed his two hands on the floor and "walked" the rest of himself out. He dusted himself off and smiled wide, not that there was anyone in particular to smile at.

Now he needed to find another hiding place for one of these tiny spoils. He heard other kids finding things around him. This excitement only further pushes his head into overdrive thinking of a new spot. He looks around frantically searching. Then it hits him, red! What better place to hide prizes for Gryffindor. So, Galton rushes over to a nearby Gryffindor tapestry and set to searching any area under/behind the red beauty.

Kyle sat in the common room playing chess with himself as had become a bit of a habit, after all it kept him sharp and it didn’t require dealing with any of the goody goody members of the house, some which just have him sideways looks or just avoided him anyways these days. He knew there was a party going on in the great hall because of their recent victory but Kyle didn’t really want to be there. He didn’t really help win, and honestly was amazed him being in detention didn’t lose them points. The party was for proud gryffindors who wanted to have fun. So why should he go? He wanted to be a Slytherin and his idea of having fun involved breaking things and being a general pain. He sighed and toppled the white king and leaned back in his chair. ”Screw it.” he mumbles to himself and he heads to his trunk to get dressed.

Kyle grabbed a grey Henley and his least ratty pair of jeans, a black belt and a leather wristband, next he slipped on his leather jacket and his chain that hang from his belt. To finish things off he slips on his boots and wets his hands in the sink then rubs his hands through his hair to slick it back and keep it out of his eyes, atleast for a little while.

Kyle slipped his hands into his pockets and headed for the great hall and when he arrived he saw people were running around looking for things. A scavenger hunt, he thought he remembered hearing something about that. With a shrug he looked around himself, seeing if anything stood out. Kyle decided to check the spot he thought was rather obvious, the house point counters for the houses that filled up as points were accumulated. As the Gryffindors won he searched around the hourglass for his house.

Sliding down from the banister, rug burns seared Isaac's palms as he hit the floor. His legs shook a bit, but he managed to stay standing. Clutched in his hand was a small twinkling gold object with wings. Curiously, he touched a wing and it began to flutter. The feathers were soft and downy, tied with a rope.

In truth, he had no clue what the object could be. But it shone as if it were made of metal, which made him believe that it could be useful. Carefully, he pocketed it, making sure not to crumple the graceful wings.

By now, more Gryffindors had joined the hunt. They overturned pillows, crawled beneath tables, and looked around chairs. Many prizes had been discovered.

Peering about, he saw a familiar shock of red hair. It was Quinlan. She'd just grabbed a broom from behind the Headmaster's Podium, and clearly was pleased. Other students seemed to have a lot of luck too. With dismay, he watched Millie pull out a piece of paper with the words, Hogsmeade printed on it. He didn't know exactly what it meant, but had a lurking feeling that it was a good prize. He'd heard of Hogsmeade as a place of insanity, meant for older years.

Even Fillestar, DeRook and Meenauh had shown up for the occasion, searching around.

The competition was on.

Mentally, he was running out of places to check. There had to be a place where no Gryffindor had dared go before.

He was going crazy trying to think of something.

Dashing to the head of the room near the professor's table, he saw an owl lectern. The prop was discarded, considering that Lear had never given them a speech of any sort, but the dusty gold glimmered in the candlelight. No one had noted it so far. Perhaps there was something behind the lectern...or better yet, something inside of it. He couldn't stop the overwhelming emotion to break the thing open and see.

The bottom of the lectern was made of glass, and could presumably be opened or cracked to store something inside of it. So he forcefully sent a kick towards the lectern, hoping that the glass would break enough so that he could get whatever could be inside. Hopefully a prize was hidden in it.
