Reducio@Scout Fu-HaiIt was an early Saturday morning for Ehsilat. Summer was rolling around so she thought that it would be a great idea to have a small picnic. She needed the time for herself to reflect on the past year and to figure out a way to redeem herself for her misdeeds throughout the school year or else her father might never trust her again. And it would be a significantly bad time to lose his trust, especially since summer camp is coming up and she already said that she'd go.
As it was technically summer, (regardless of what British weather suggests) the sun was out for a longer time, which made leaving Hogwarts and heading to the Great Lake with her picnic basket, blanket and pet owl, Eilac, at 5 am looked like it was about 8.
Arriving at the Great Lake, Ehsilat found a decent spot under a tree beside a huge boulder. She placed down her blanket down on the slightly damp grass under the tree and took a seat. Eilac perched on top of the large boulder and hooted away happily. As much as Ehsilat doesn't think she needs it, her mother always insisted that she put on sunscreen (even though she's black), therefore, that's what she did. Ehsilat lathered the sunscreen in her hand and rubbed it all over her face, arms and legs. After, she laid out a spread of different kinds of snacks, ranging from biscuits to crisps and even cupcakes. She also had some owl treats for Eilac. Having said she wanted to relax, Ehsilat took a book from her picnic basket and began reading. She gently leaned her back against the thick base of the tree she sat beside. Ehsilat smiled, she had purposely come to the Great Lake rather early as it was the best time to take in the view of the Lake and listen to the birds in the forest sing. In all honesty, to her, this was perfect and she couldn't believe she's never thought of doing this before.

A Friendship In The Making
before school ends, 2024 saturday, early morningwc: 450 dhampir | sensitive to sunlightinteracting with: @Ehsilat Wilst mentioning: nobodyIt was way too early for anyone to be up, let alone Scout.
That did not stop Pebble from pecking at the window right next to her bed until she begrudgingly got up and opened it. Then, for the next ten minutes, he continued to jump on and off of her and peck her wrist until she finally, finally got up for the day. Didn't he know she was a dhampir? They weren't supposed to be outside when the sun was out!
Even if she was annoyed, she was still going to go out with her owl and spend some time together before the day officially begun... she guesses.
Adorning a thin jacket with the hood up, Scout slipped out of her dormitory and out of the common room. It was (to no surprise) almost empty, save for a few older students that might've been there since last night. Were finals truly so miserable? Ugh... and Scout wasn't even the studious type, but she better not fail!
"Pebs... where are we even going?" She asked, pulling the hood up further as they walked out onto the grounds. Ugh, she should've brought gloves! If her hands burned because of this, she'd have a miserable time trying to write her final essays and assignments out. "You want to go to the Lake? Why? It's too bright out here for me."
It only took a minute of Pebble and Scout being outside for the former to fly off immediately. Not so fast that Scout couldn't keep up, but fast enough that she couldn't catch the bird. What a rotten little thing, did he just wake her up to make her run the mile? Luckily she was wearing her tennis shoes, but... she was a dhampir in the sun! This was totally unfair!
"Hey, look out!"
Before Scout could reach for her wand, Pebble landed (not so gracefully) next to a girl on a blanket. Luckily he hadn't actually hit her, but if he was going a little faster he might've. Had Pebble seen the owl on the rock and decided he wanted to hangout too?
"Damn, I'm sorry!" Scout called, slowing down as she neared the girl and her owl. "I didn't know he was going to try and land like that. I hope you're okay!" Even though Pebble had missed the girl and her- picnic?- Scout was still worried she might've shaken her or her own pet up. Really, Pebble? You just had to go and ruin Scout's morning like this?
"Sorry again."

Reducio@Scout Fu-Hai"Hey, look out!" a voice called from afar. Ehsilat looked up from her reading only to find an owl speeding right for her. An immediate panic overcame her as she scurried off her blanket and rushed to her feet to get out of the way. The owl landed painfully close to the spot where she was just sitting and it made her cringe.
The voice that initially called out to warn her was that of a girl that looked around her age, which, Ehsilat presumed, was also the owner of the owl that decided to do a crash landing on her now not so neatly laid out blanket. Ehsilat had never seen this girl before and wondered why she was out so early in the morning, maybe she was new and wanted to get to class early?
"Damn, I'm sorry!" the girl said as she neared Ehsilat and the owl that crash landed "I didn't know he was going to try and land like that. I hope you're okay!"
"Sorry again."
Ehsilat looked at her ruined blanket, some of the food that was spread on top of it was smushed and anger boiled in the pit of her stomach. 'This was supposed to be a relaxing picnic but whatever" Ehsilat put on the kindest smile she could muster as her anger chocked her and threatened to get out."Don't worry about it! Is your owl alright?" As Ehsilat spoke, Eilac rudely plucked at her head, she glanced at the mystery girl and apologized as she reached for her picnic basket and retrieved a snack for Eilac. She was still a bit angry about her blanket, but she felt it disrespectful not to offer "Would your owl like a treat as well?"

A Friendship In The Making
before school ends, 2024 saturday, early morningwc: 300? maybe dhampir | sensitive to sunlightinteracting with: @Ehsilat Wilst mentioning: nobodyThough Scout was dense, she wasn't so dense that she couldn't see the annoyance on the other girls' face. Well... it wasn't her fault her owl was kind of out of control, she totally wouldn't've let Pebble out if she had known he was going to crash someone's picnic! It just so happened that he had her lack of coordination and also her inability to think things through before acting on them.
But still, she felt kind of bad that her tiny-brained pet had ruined something for someone else.
"Yeah, he's fine. Sorry about that," Scout held out her arm for the owl to fly onto, "he's not normally this stupid, don't know what's gotten into him today." When Pebble's claws dug into her arm, the pain was only momentary. It was the same feeling as her own dull claws, but still... why didn't she bring gloves? That'd make this whole situation easier. Her hands were starting to ache from the sunburn she was likely already forming, ugh!
"If you'd like, I can go back up to the Kitchens and get whatever Pebble messed up." It was still so early in the morning that Scout wasn't even sure the Great Hall was open. "I didn't get your name, did I? I'm Scout, by the way."
When the girl offered a treat to Pebble, Scout quickly shook her head. You don't get to have your cake and eat it too, Pebble! No way can you accept a treat from someone that you totally flew into and messed up their hard work. Plus you woke your beloved owner up at the crack of dawn when you know she's a very sensitive vampire!
"Oh, no, it's okay. He needs to learn his actions have consequences."
