Gryffindor Scavenger Hunt
♫
Alan groaned as Scott dragged him along, but secretly he was feeling excited for the scavenger hunt. He loved stuff like that, but he did not like overly crowded places. So when Scott just did not listen and dragged him along anyway, Alan just admitted defeat. He knew that his friend would not have given up on convincing him anyway so he just walked along.
In the Great Hall Alan took a glance around and was surprised at all the red and gold, it made him grin slightly though. But when he looked at Scott an amused snort left his mouth. Alan noticed that the boy had been in a hurry, but the tie looked disastrous. He just shook his head and looked over Scott. ”You won't impress anyone with the way you make your tie”, he giggled softly.
He then nodded and was about to say something when Scott spoke to a Gryffindor girl. He called her Marla, but Alan had no idea who she was. Probably a first year then, Alan was not sure. In his confusion colorful freckles appeared around his nose, without him even realizing as he looked at the girl across the great hall.
Alan just followed his friend and when the two of the reached the Slytherin table, Alan began to search for something. Where could he possibly look for here? She saw that the girl had a broom, a real broom! He shuddered and continued looking. He noticed some bump under the tablecloth and raised it by pinching his fingers around the fabric to look under it.
”Hey Scott, talking of places where we usually don't go to... wh-what about the Professor table?”, Alan muttered, before his eyes widened. Was he crazy now? The freckles that had long disappeared by now were replaced by yellow specks within his naturally green eyes.

Round 2 Results
Meenauh would search behind one of the many moving oil painted portraits. It would have been a good hiding spot for gifts. Unfortunately, Aurelia had not hidden anything there and Meenauh would not find anything but the dust and cobwebs.@Meenauh Silmatautea | Roll Result | 6
Euphrasia would search under the Gryffindor table where she had her dinner merely a few hours ago. Her head would hit hard on the roof of the table as she ventured under but it was nothing too serious. She would find a yellowing slip of paper on the ground and if she were to look closely, the girl would find that it was a Fake Permission Slip. Was this one of the gifts? Or had someone dropped it. Nevertheless, finders keepers.@Euphrasia Millie | Roll Result | 18
After hitting Jackpot, the lucky girl would head over to the Slytherin table in search for a possibly bigger prize. However, her luck seemed to have ran out as searching under the Slytherin bench she would not find much but disgusting scraps of food from dinner.@Marla Quinlan | Roll Result | 1
Scott would search around where Marla had, the Slytherin table. The Gryffindor on the other hand would turn out much luckier than she was. If he was expecting to find little lion cubs, Scott would be disappointed but he instead would find that his fingers grasped on to the shaft of a broom. Not those ones used to sweep dust off the floor but a Shooting Star!@Scott Alexander | Roll Result | 20
Alan would follow his best friend. His face turning a different sparkle of color every other second. He would find a bump under the tablecloth and lift it up only to find an unopened bottle of... Firewhisky. It most likely could not be one of the gifts and perhaps an older year had left it there.@Alan Vanes | Roll Result | 10
Gifts would be given out shortly. This hunt is still open to ALL Gryffindors. I strongly encourage you to participate as there are tons of freebies going to be given away! Ask as many of your Gryffindor friends over, the more the merrier. There are still two more rounds to go. @Marla Quinlan, @Scott Alexander, @Euphrasia Millie, D18s will be used for you instead for your proceeding searches as you have already gotten one of the bigger prizes. Btw, all rolls are done on discord in case you are wondering. Next Modding will be on Tuesday.

Apparently, Meenauh completely forgot that the portraits weren't fully conscious to be able to remember much from the current time, but just bits. So the sweating young man was probably captured in the painting that way.
"Oh, that's minus 50 points for not remembering stuff, Meenauh," she scolded herself a little.
She turned around and saw a few other Gryffindors, all searching under the Slytherin table, and smiled. She saw Marla getting up from under the table with empty hands and waved at her.
Passing further through the hall, she stopped near the fireplace, the warm hearth in the Great Hall, which added so much cosiness to the whole place. Meenauh stopped for a while and watched the fire. Shimmering flame tongues hypnotised her, though she wasn't fond of fire. She forgot how long she stood there without thinking anything but then she recognised something which seemed to drag her attention away from it. Just to the left of the fireplace, there was a pile of wood, organised into some impossible matter if thinking in the laws of muggle physics. But as wizarding world kind of ignored the laws of muggle physics, such organisation of lumber was pretty much possible.
"Aha! That's it!" she thought and tried to reach with her hand into the seemingly artificial hole between the cut logs.

Gryffindor Scavenger Hunt
It was a bit of an understatement to say that Lamik Fillestar was underdressed for the occasion. As soon as he heard of the special event, he knew that he would be. When the boy had first gotten to Hogwarts he had had no idea that anything so fancy and adult-like would be taking place. Because of this, when it came to clothing at least, Lamik had brought the bare minimum. The robes, hat, coat, and gloves requested in his acceptance letter and a few simple plain clothes were all that were brought in his suitcase that one could wear without being called insane.
So here he was, standing in a decorated great hall full of fancy students who looked like they should have been on the cover of some magazine, and wearing a white t-shirt and black sweatpants. He had heard rumors of a scavenger hunt, so before coming he brought a black cloth satchel with him, one that he had gotten during an event at school in the 4th grade. That's where he planned on storing his findings- if he found anything, at least.
"Whatever you find, you may keep! And, after that, we’re going to have a little ball. For Gryffindors only, because every other ball seems to go terribly wrong.”
For some reason, the comment made about a ball snapped Lamik back from his thoughts and into the present. Though his eyes lit up inexplicably when he had heard that it would take place, whatever thoughts had excited him quickly dispersed once he realized that it was a Gryffindor only event. Oh. It would have been nice if other houses were allowed to come. Then maybe I could have asked whether or not she wanted to go with me...
"So, go get hunting!"
That was all Lamik needed to here to come back from his slight sense of self-pity. Opening the satchel, the boy immediately knew what he had to do: Walk up to one of the tables and discreetly take one of the miniature lions. They were adorable. So that's just what he did. Attempting to slide the nearest plushie into the black bag, Lamik noticed that the bench he was standing in front seemed to have something under it. Quickly finishing the more important task of getting himself an adorable pillow, the boy kneeled down to inspect the bench closer.

Gryffindor Scavenger Hunt
Raine walked into the Great Hall in her regular clothing of a pair of jeans, some black calf-length boots, and a shirt that could pass as casual or semi-formal depending on the situation. After that disaster called the Blossom Ball, the young Gryffindor wasn't feeling "in the spirit of things" and wasn't too keen to take part in another event this year. She didn't even want to do this ridiculous sounding scavenger hunt, but she knew that as much as she didn't want to do it, she would probably regret not doing it if anyone started boasting about what they got from the little game so here she was. Joining the rest of her house in looking like a group of fools.
This better be worth it.
Moving further into the large room, she looked around and saw the plush lions, the various well dressed or semi-well dressed Gryffindors chatting, looking high and low for items, or just damning their own luck depending on what they got. She saw one boy had grabbed a bottle of Firewhiskey and Raine raised an eyebrow. Who in their right mind would put a bottle of alcohol in a scavenger hunt for a bunch of teenagers?
Shaking her head, Raine moved away from that boy and saw everyone crawling under the tables, laying on their backs to look under the benches, climbing the statues and walls to look into the candelabras hanging from the ceiling. Honestly, looking up above wasn't such a bad idea...
Raising her eyes to the ceiling again, Raine noticed a chandelier with candles within it hanging in the middle of the room. No one would be able to reach that.
But she would try.
If she remembered correctly from her Charms homework, Hobart...or whatever his name was... tried to make himself float, only to realize that he was only floating because of his clothes being charmed. So long as she kept her concentration and her wand pointed at her clothes, she should also be able to float up to the chandelier and search it really quick.
Taking out her wand, Raine pointed at herself, did the wand movement and said, "Wingardium Leviosa". Keeping her concentration and ignoring the gasps and voices below her, Raine floated to the middle chandelier and searched in between the candles.

Gryffindor Scavenger Hunt
"What did you say? The Professors'- hey!" Scott interrupted himself and shot his head up in the dark with excitement, hitting it against the wooden boards with no care in the world. Crawling out from under the tablecloth again, between two chairs, he held a long, dark broomstick before him as he did so. "This was just laying here! Well, I guess that's the point of this game... I like this game!"
He took to stand and examined his find. Scott didn't exactly fly, and he didn't play quidditch, but with this in his hands the practice seemed almost irresistible. He almost felt he could understand his brothers, now... A broom came with its own magic.
Suddenly, he looked to his friend again. Alan's eyes were going yellow, and as Scott (as usual) leaned in to examine them in awe, he felt something bump agains his chest. Alan was carrying a bottle.
"Did you find this?! Where? What is it? Oh... Hah! You know, I found one of those at home, and Ben told me that if I ratted on him then he'd kill me. Is that a real one? You should taste it and see. No wait! You should not do that. No..."
Scott eyed their Head of House cautiously. What a strange thing to find lying around. Then again, a broomstick might've been even more out of place than that.
"Anyhow. What was it you were saying? Yes! Yes, let's look over at the Professor's table. You know, I could test my luck and go diving under there, as well. Even if there's nothing hidden, there were tons of caramels dropped under the Slytherin table..." He smiled and popped one in his mouth, offering another to his friend. "They were still in their wrappers, Alan, I'm not an animal!"
Scott jumped up and heaved his new broomstick over his shoulder, like a baseball player with his bat, and skipped towards the end of the Great Hall. There, there were no chairs to be pushed aside in order to slip in under the tablecloth- which he did with a whistle, and began to crawl on all fours like a kid bored with dinner.

Curiously Alan stared at the bottle in his hands that had been hidden beneath the tablecloth. It was sealed and had written Firewhiskey on it and it looked surprisingly real that Alan could have been fooled. But they would not hide a real bottle there, right? It must be a new fun article from the Weasley shop. He looked up from the bottle in his hand when he discovered Scott crawling out from under the table, a broom in his hand. A real broom? Then again the other girl found one as well so which made him grin widely.
He knew that Scott wasn't a flyer but he was curious and open to try new stuff, so Alan wouldn't be surprised if he know would take an interest in the sport. ”Th-they would never hide a real one here, so it must be a pretty good imitation!”, he voiced out his earlier thoughts, taking a last look at the bottle, before slipping it into the pocket of his robes. ”But that broom is amazing, that must be expensive and will you start practicing flying?”, Alan asked curiously, he was fine with talking to Scott and wouldn't stutter as much. He was his friend, so Alan had no worries.
Alan chuckled lightly at Scott and shook his head, taking one of the caramels before opening the wrapper. Food was food and he wasn't going to let a good caramel bonbon get to waste like that. Alan would follow Scott towards the end of the Great hall towards the Professor table, which felt kind of odd and unusual. But the only professor here was Sorrel and said they could search wherever. His gaze fell onto a huge potted plant that stood in one of the corners, with big green leaves. Not paying this any second thoughts he would approach the potted plant, which looked rather Muggle-ish and lifted one of the big green leaves to look at the soil beneath it. If it was an event by Sorrel she probably hid something between plants.

Gryffindor Scavenger Hunt
Lallie had been hearing amongst the common room of a scavenger hunt taking place in the Great Hall and that it was Gryffindor exclusive. Lallie wanted to double check since she didn't want to get out of the homey common room for no reason. Checking the bulletin board the rumors turned to be true! 'This seems fun!' Lallie thought. She rushed into the dorm to change.
Since the notice up on the board said there was a ball she debated what to wear. She didn't want to wear a t-shirt and jeans to a ball, but she also didn't want to scavenge for things in a dress. She decided to go with a semi-formal get-up. Instead of wearing her go-to Converse she switched them out for some black flats. Knowing it was Gryffindor exclusive she decided to put on a simple gold blouse with a pair of red skinny jeans to match the colors of Gryffindor. She finished off the look with a red headband.
Following the crowd of Gryffindors, she got into the Great Hall and looked at it in awe. The place looked like she stepped into some sort of Gryffindor twilight zone. The abundance of the colors red and gold made the entire place seem so grand yet cozy at the same time.
Sitting next to some other first-year Gryffindors she noticed the little lion plush that started walking around near her before plopping down. It looked like either the most realistic plush in the world or if a lion had been zapped with a shrink-ray and then trapped in an invisible box. She wondered if they did the same thing with the other house's mascots when they had house exclusive events. She looked up at the podium where the Head of Gryffindor stood. 'Wow!' Lallie thought, 'She looks so pretty in that get up.' Lallie has always been fond of eccentric outfits and the red and gold on her dress definitely complimented Miss Wright perfectly.
Lallie listened intently to the Head of Gryffindor's words. She understood how hard it was to speak publicly. She only felt comfortable with people watching her when she was on stage performing. Both because she couldn't see the people watching her thanks to the stage lights, and she always felt like a different person on stage.
After Miss Wright sent off all the kids the room started rushing about with kids swarming trying to grab stuff. Lallie, being on the smaller side, was able to squeeze her way through all the kids running about. She could see several kids crawling under the tables and looking over at the side she saw kids looking in and behind the paintings. Looking over at the professor's table she noticed a couple of people were looking there, but mostly looking under the table. Propped up on the table though she saw several vases full of flowers. 'That seems like a good place to hide something.' Lallie thought. Walking over to the middle of the professor's table Lallie shifts through the flowers and dirt in the vase trying to see if her hand touches anything but flowers or dirt, making sure not to ruin any of the flowers.

Gryffindor Scavenger Hunt
[quote]As Marla excitingly ripped apart the spot where she was looking, she was unfortunate to find pretty much nothing under the cushion of the chair. Except for a few scraps of... Something ham-like and veggies as well. Ew. How did food scraps even get under a cushion? Weird.
A few people were more fortunate, like Scott Alexander, a boy she had met at the quidditch field around two months ago. She widened her eyes as she spotted him pulling a long stick... No, a broom from the spot he had looked!
"Well done, Scott!" She yelled from across the room with a smile and a wave. He was next to someone who looked a bit familiar, but she couldn't exactly pin who it was.
Even though it sucked that she found nothing the second time around, Marla was determined to find something else grand by the end of the night. It wouldn't upset her if she didn't find anything else cool... She found a broom, for God's sake! That was one of the coolest things you could get! But it would be nice if she could get a knick knack of some sort... So she scanned the grand room with her eyes squinted for extra detective-y effect... As if seeming like one of those cool Sherlock Holmes people would help. Maybe it would? Probably not. But she stayed positive. And hopefully that would come in hand, because she could almost see something behind a painting... So she walked over to the painting on the right side of the hall, taking it off of the wall. Was that allowed? Well... Then again, rules couldn't be broken if you don't know what they are.

Gryffindor Scavenger Hunt
Something was happening?! Exciting. Galton enjoyed doing things in general, and any chance to meet other house mates was an added bonus. Plus it meant he didn’t have to come up with his own adventure today.
The Great Hall looked rather amazing today. It was normally very pretty, but adorned in all red it was even prettier. The little lions really pushed it over the edge. He wanted to play with them but it seemed that there were other things planned for them today - a scavenger hunt! Galton was sure he’d be able to find a ton of stuff!
His house mates appeared to already be hard at work searching so he needed to get to it right away. Where to start? He saw kids all over the place, so he assumed the whole room was fair game.
Galton turned his focus to finding his prize. The plants seemed to have been searched, a lot of ground had been covered it seemed. Think Galton, think! he thought to himself. Then he had it, he’d use his tiny size to his advantage. He found the rightmost long table and crawled under it. Searching under the table for any secret left behind. He thought about the dirt he’d probably collect under here, but it was gonna be worth it. He bet that no one had thought of what he was doing right now.
