─────Landon hoped that Juniper could tell he was genuine with his questions, and that he wanted to learn. He didn't want it to seem like he was judging or anything. Landon wasn't the type to be judgmental generally, but he was human, and some people just did things to make him angry. He tried not to judge either way. Landon listened intently as Juniper described gender dysphoria and how she coped with it. "It sounds exhausting, feeling like your body isn't how you want it to be or how it should be," he observed. He didn't know if he phrased it correctly, but he hoped that Juniper would understand what he meant.

Landon nodded as Juniper explained that everyone who is genderfluid experiences things differently. "I suppose that makes sense. Not all people who identify as male are exactly the same, so it makes sense that people who identify differently would also have the same experience... if that makes any sense?" Landon wasn't sure he was saying things correctly. This was all so new to him.

"So you wouldn't be offended if I messed up and used the wrong pronouns?" he asked. "I might always ask because I don't want to base my idea of your pronouns on your clothes or something. Because guys can wear skirts, you know? I don't wear skirts, but some boys might." Landon smiled softly and looked at Juniper, his blue eyes gentle. "Thank you for being willing to explain all of this to me," he said. "I don't know that much about this sort of thing. Even in history, while people who didn't identify as male or female probably existed, they don't really talk about it," he observed.

Landon knew he had a lot to learn about this sort of thing. He always tried to be open-minded and willing to learn. He knew that people were far more complicated than just being male or female, straight or not straight, even at his young age. His parents had been open about teaching him such things. He knew that if he were to be different, his family would accept him, but he knew that not all kids were that lucky. Landon smiled at Juniper again. "Does your name ever change when you're feeling a different gender?" he asked. "I mean, do you prefer to be called something else when, for example, you identify as a boy that day?" Landon knew that he was being a little nosy, but he wanted to be respectful of course. He liked Juniper and wanted to know more about her.

Thoughts: Italics

Juniper smiled while listening to Landon speak. She could tell that he was one hundred percent genuine and had no ill intention with his questions. She nodded her head in agreement when Landon spoke about how it must be exhausting."It most definitely does get exhausting," she responded with a slight chuckle.

"Yes, that makes sense," Juniper agreed. "It just goes to show that everyone is different in some way regardless of how they identify, and that each person has their own unique experiences." Juniper was glad that this was all making sense to Landon and that he was making an effort to understand everything she had been explaining to him.

"No, I wouldn't be offended if you used the wrong pronouns. I really don't mind too much, and I know that you wouldn't be using the wrong ones to purposely be mean. If it were to happen, I would just kindly correct you." Juniper smiled back brightly as Landon smiled and thanked her for explaining everything to him. "You're welcome. Thank you for being so understanding and supportive."

Juniper felt pleased knowing that she was able to give Landon a better understanding of genderfluidity and that she was able to open up and share a bit about herself with someone new. She admired the fact that Landon had been respectful the entire time, even when asking questions. This made Juniper like Landon more than she already did. It was refreshing having someone be truly interested and accepting of her. Juniper listened attentively as Landon asked another question.

"I personally don't change my name when I feel like a different gender. I keep my name Juniper regardless of how I identify that day. I really like my name and it doesn't bring me any discomfort to be called Juniper when I don't feel like a girl. I do however have some nicknames that can be used whenever. I'm fine with being called June or Juni for short," she explained.

─────Landon looked at Juniper, his blue eyes genuine and curious. He always wanted to learn new things about the world, and it was even more worth it when he was making a friend. He was shy, but he wanted to make friends just as much as the rest of his house. Landon hummed softly as she said that it does get exhausting. "I'm sure it gets annoying having to explain it to people all the time too," he said with a frown. "I'm sorry if it's annoying that I asked."

Landon smiled as Juniper said she wouldn't be upset if he accidentally messed up with the wrong pronouns. "Thank you. I would never do it on purpose," he said with a nod. He didn't want to offend anyone if he could help it, but he also knew that he would make mistakes. He was human, after all. Landon really appreciated that Juniper had spent this time explaining things to him. He really wanted to understand the world and she had been so friendly about explaining. "No need to thank me, that's just what a good person should do," he said with a smile. He didn't feel that he needed to be thanked for trying to learn.

Landon listened, his focus on everything that Juniper was saying. "Oh good, so I'll never mess up if I call you Juniper," he said with a smile. "I'm glad. I don't want to make anyone uncomfortable..." he nodded. "I don't really have much of a nickname myself. Just Landon... or I suppose Land or Lands. But they aren't very fun," he grinned. He wasn't really much for nicknames himself anyway.

"Thank you so much for teaching me so much today," he said happily. "I really love to learn. I thought I was going to be a Ravenclaw, but I guess I'm more of a Hufflepuff... and that suits me just fine," he added. He felt at home in Hufflepuff.

Juniper gave a slight chuckle after Landon apologized. "No need to apologize," Juniper reassured him, warmly smiling. "I don't mind explaining. It's actually refreshing to have someone be genuinely interested in understanding and learning about things like this." Juniper paused a moment before continuing again. "Explaining can be tiring at times, but it doesn't really bother me when the questions are coming from someone who actually wants to know."

Juniper smiled brightly upon hearing that Landon would never misgender her on purpose like others have done before. "That means a lot to me!" She paused, reflecting on their conversation momentarily. "It's nice knowing that there are people out there who will actually put an effort into getting people's identities right," Juniper exclaimed.

"Landon it is then," Juniper said, her eyes bright. Juniper was touched by Landon's thoroughness in not wanting to offend her or make her uncomfortable. She listened as Landon thanked her for teaching him so much. "You're very welcome, Landon," Juniper replied. "I'm glad I could share with you about this and help give you a better understanding. If you ever have any other questions, feel free to ask me whatever."

Juniper was genuinely excited that she had been able to have such a good interaction with someone here at Hogwarts. She was especially delighted that she was able to share her true identity with someone and for them to take it this well. Juniper was glad that she had decided to come out today and that she was able to make a new friend that would accept her exactly how she is.
