Speech: “Abbey’s Speech”
Abbey was late for Charm class once again. She ran as fast as she could to make it in time. Before opening the heavy oak door into the classroom, she took her long brown hair behind her ears and took a few breathes in and out. She opened the door and in embarrassment walked into the room and took a seat in the back of the classroom. She was sitting at a corner and only had one person sitting next to her. A girl with dark, kinda wavy hair sat on her right side. Abbey looked at her and gave her a friendly smile. When the professor started talking Abbey was really lost. Class had already started when she walked into the room and the things they talked about seemed really important for you to understand what the professor was talking about now. Nothing of what the teacher told them made sense to Abbey and she started to get bored. Charms was the subject she had been the most excited about starting her journey at Hogwarts and it was her favourite so far, but this time when the teacher only talked, it was really boring.
Abbey zoned out and it was suddenly time to work in pairs talking about all the stuff the teacher had just told them. Abbey looked at the girl on her right knowing they were partners. “Sorry I didn’t understand anything of that stuff the teacher told us.” She said to the girl feeling a bit bad. “I’m Abbey by the way. I feel like I’ve seen you around before. What’s your name?” Abbey asked the girl hoping to get to know her better instead of talking about the things the teacher wanted them to talk about. Hopefully the girl didn’t dislike her for not paying attention in class.

Charms class can be pretty boring.
I am usually the kind to sit at the first benches, that is if I am interested in the class. In classes as such as Charms, I am usually seated wayyyyyy back! Hoping no one cares what I am up to back there. The class had just started when a student, a Hufflepuff, came panting up the door and rushed her way to my seat, flushing in embarrassment. She gave me a warm smile as she sat. I smiled back at her and flipped open my book, taking out a quill to note down at least something that the Professor kept blabbering about.
Thankfully, I knew the content for today's class. It was the Mending Charm, "Reparo". Reading before-hand is quite helpful to skip boring lectures.
The Professor seemed to have concluded his speech. Well, time to pair up, I guess?
“Sorry I didn’t understand anything of that stuff the teacher told us.” the girl seated to my left suddenly spoke up, quite obviously now because we are to pair-up; “I’m Abbey by the way. I feel like I’ve seen you around before. What’s your name?” She introduced herself, perhaps feeling bad about something.
"Nice meeting you, Abbey. Myself Shubhangi, you can call me Shubha." I extended my hand for a shake, "I believe you are back here for the same reasons I am?" I looked at Abbey, giving a soft smile. Clearly, backbenchers have the most amount of fun during such boring classes. I guess being a first year itself is tough to adjust to. She seemed as though she hardly understood a word uttered by the Professor. Well, we never had to face Professors before, like ever, in our lives. It's understandable how such lectures can be overwhelming for some. I take my wand out and start tearing the book in front of me as I wait for Abbey's response.

Speech: “Abbey’s speech “Shubhangi’s speech”
“Nice meeting you, Abbey. Myself Shubhangi, you can call me Shubha.” The girl responded with. Abbey hadn’t heard the name before and thought it was a very cool one, and Shubha was the coolest nick name ever in her opinion. At least one of the coolest nick names ever. Shubhangi extended her hand for a hand shake and looked at Abbey. Abbey looked back at Shubhangi with a smile, “Nice too meet you too and cool nick name you have, Shubha.” she responded shaking hands with her.
“I believe you are back here for the same reasons I am?” Shubha asked. Abbey was a bit confused and gave Shubha a confused look. She thought for a while not knowing what to answer Shubha before she suddenly remembered that sitting in the back of the classroom meant you didn’t really like the class or just didn’t want to participate in it. “I think I’m?” Abbey responded with. She didn’t for sure know why Shubha was sitting in the back of the classroom so she didn’t want to sound like she was sure it was for the same reason as her. “Are you also bored?” Abbey asked trying to understand more clearly why the girl thought they were sitting in the back for the same reason.

Abbey seemed quite taken back by my question, perhaps she wasn't exactly sitting here because she is bored or something. Before I could continue my thoughts and try changing the subject, Abbey responded, “I think I’m? Are you also bored?"
I chuckle lightly."I guess the term "bored" ain't exactly it." I smile as I raise my wand and draw a reverse "G" while incanting "Reh-PAH-roh". My torn notebook was back in it's fresh form. Pleased with the result, I continued speaking,"I have this thing, ADHD, I am not exactly sure what that is. Dad said my way of thinking is just explained by this syndrome. I have periods of Hyperfocus and periods of no focus at all. Currently, it's the no focus period." I glanced at the broken skeletons kept at our desk and looked at Abby, "Do you need help with this?"
I look up at her smile. I lift my wand and draw the reverse "G" once more, while incanting "Reh-PAH-roh!".The bones swiftly came right back to their deemed place, and now we had a perfectly intact skeleton sitting on our desk. The other spell we were asked to perform was Tarantallegra, which was dancing feet spell that can be used to make anything have wobbly-dance feet. Drawing the feet of a dancing skeleton with my wand, I incant " ta- RON- ta-LEG-ra!" and no sooner, a purple spark flicked from my wand and the skeleton buddy was up on his feet and dancing ! I looked at Abbey once again, "Got it? Would you like to try?"

Shubha said with a light chuckle. Abbey watched as the girl took out her wand. She thought about what to respond, but ended up watching the girl fix her torn up notebook instead. Shubha drew a reversed G in the air. Abbey watched amused. "Reh-PAH-roh" the girl said loud and clearly. Her book was now looking as good as new. It didn’t have any dirt, holes or scratches on it anymore. Abbey sat there thinking to herself. So this was what the teacher wanted us to do. she thought as she looked down at Shubhangi’s book. She then looked back down in front of herself. She had gotten a torn up notebook too. It had holes in it just like Shubhangi’s book had, and it was filled with sketches and small ink puddles.
"I have this thing, ADHD, I am not exactly sure what that is. Dad said my way of thinking is just explained by this syndrome. I have periods of Hyperfocus and periods of no focus at all. Currently, it's the no focus period." Shubha said continuing their conversation. Abbey sat there and listened to what Shubha said about having ADHD. It wasn’t something she knew a lot about herself, but she had heard a little about it before. Abbey was basically a muggle and at the muggle school she went to in Liverpool before Hogwarts a few of the students had ADHD. Before Abbey got the time to answer Shubha had already asked her a question. "Do you need help with this?" Abbey assumed it was the broken skeletons laying at our desk Shubha was talking about. She has seen Shubha’s glance at them before she had asked the question. “The broken skeletons?” I asked looking at the bones in front of us. “Sure” I looked up at her again with a friendly smile.
"Reh-PAH-roh!" Shubha said making a Reversed G in the air with her wand again. The skeleton bones connected together and the bones became a skeleton. “Cool!” I said with a excited look on my face. This magic stuff was a lot cooler then I had expected and this charms class wasn’t boring at all anymore! "ta- RON- ta-LEG-ra!" Shubha Said after the skeleton bones were all connected and in the right places. The skeleton started dancing around on the top of our desk. I looked up chuckling. “Even cooler!” I said once again with an exited look on my face.
"Got it? Would you like to try?" Shubha asked looking at me.1/2

Just like you did!” she said with a smile and looked down at the notebook in front of her. Okey okey, so…. Just do exactly what Shubha just did. she thought to herself, a bit stressed. Charms was her favourite subjects so far, but she wasn’t that good at it yet. She hadn’t successfully cast a spell in class yet without ruining something first. Okey just say Reh-PAH-roh out loud and clear and you’ll be good! She kept repeating to herself before she spoke. She took out her wand from a pocket in her robes and pointed it at the torn notebook. “Reh-PEH-roh!” Abbey said out loud and clear. The book opened itself aggressively up and all the pages began flying around the classroom before they all fell down on the floor with a swish. Abbey looked at the pages with an embarrassed face. She could feel the kids around her staring at her. The classroom was quickly filled with kids laughter and giggles. Abbey sat there looking down at the even more ruined notebook. Her face was red of embarrassment. After a while she looked up at Shubha. “That always happens!” She said still embarrassed, but trying to make a joke out of the situation. She knew it wasn’t such a big deal, but it was still embarrassing. Shubha seemed to be good at Charms so that made it even more embarrassing. Glad Shubha made the skeleton dance and not me… I would’ve made it explode! Abbey thought relived.2/2

As I watched Abbey's fascinated eyes follow my every move, I knew I had her interest back on for the subject. Once I was done instructing, Abbey tried her shot at fixing her torn notebook.
Slipping out her wand she pointed at the book and incanted “Reh-PEH-roh!” . Oh bogles! She forgot the wand movement! Of course, no surprise, the pages of the notebook almost immediately scattered everywhere. A few giggles filled the hall, while it truly was amusing, I felt a bit bad seeing Abbey turn red in embarrassment. She looked up at me and said quite awkwardly, “That always happens!”
"Well, as it should." I reply spontaneously, "We are no great wizards yet! So this is truly all fun and games!" I smile and help her with collecting the papers. "And between you and me, I could do with some fun in such classes."
Almost as if on cue, another student tried the same thing! Blowing up a book in the process. "I bet the Prof will be so confused as to why the books have become out test subject instead of the skelies." I chuckle, pointing at our cute little skeleton man. Sure enough, a few other student started joining in with this, and at some point, it was literally to just do it wrong and watch the reaction!
"Oh! This has become more fun in an instant!" I laugh at another explosion down the room, "All thanks to you, we can now truly mess up things in the name of fun!"
Well, class time was soon to be up, so more mess like this is fun! I waited for Abbey's response to all this, wondering if she truly is fine now.

"We are no great wizards yet! So this is truly all fun and games!" She said with a smile on her face. Abbey smiled back and felt less embarrassed about the situation. She was happy Shubhangi seemed to try to make her feel better. And by the way Shubhangi had successfully made her feel better about it all. Abbey in fact felt a lot less embarrassed.
Shubhangi began picking up some papers from their desk. There were notebook pages on our desk, the floor and other kids desks. The pages were spread across the room. Abbey stood up from her chair and walked over to the pages on the floor and began picking them up. Two other kids came over with some papers they had found and gave them to Abbey. “Thanks” she said quietly with an awkward smile. The kids went back to their seats and Abbey continued picking up notebook pages from the floor. When she finished she went back to her desk where Shubhangi was sitting with the pages she had picked up. “Thanks for the help” Abbey Said looking at Shubha with a little smile.
"And between you and me, I could do with some fun in such classes." Abbey laughed a little and nodded in agreement. Shubha was right, it was kind fun…. and it wasn’t a dangerous thing to do, making a notebook blow up, so why take it so seriously. Just some seconds after Shubhangi had said that another notebook blew up. The pages flew up in the air and with a swish they were all over the room. "I bet the Prof will be so confused as to why the books have become out test subject instead of the skelies." I laughed together with her. Shubha pointed at the skeleton in front of us and I looked at it still laughing. Another book blew up as another student had failed trying to make the book as good as new. Shubha was still laughing and so was I. "Oh! This has become more fun in an instant!" I agreed to what Shubha said. It became funnier for every blown up notebook. "All thanks to you, we can now truly mess up things in the name of fun!" I smiled before answering. “I feel honoured!”
