Alan was sitting at the Lake, or the Great Lake as it is officially called, looking over the water as a few fishes swam through the murky water. His gaze drifted to Tiger, his Bengal cat that must be around four or six months now. His fur was still fuzzy, sticking into every direction. What a cute cat, Alan was proud that he was the one to find him. It wasn't sure whether the previous owners had moved and left the poor kitten behind or if for them keeping a kitten at home was not an option. No matter what happened, the small ball of fluff had found a new place and Alan would never mistreat his little friend in any way.
Softly he would let his finger run through the splotched fur, that made the cat look more than a leopard rather than a tiger, but the name was fitting. A wild cat worthy to sleep every night in the Gryffindor Tower as he was brave and chivalrous. He remembers Hugh's cat, Sir Veilance, which was a funny pun and a fitting name for a cat, whose owner was obsessed with knights and stuff like that. Alan chuckled as he just relaxed, sitting there and letting the memories of the Blossom Fest Party run through his mind like a movie. It was the first time after that event that he had the time to visit this place.
Shrugging the small boy shuffled closer to the water surface to take a peek down into the endless depths of the Lake. It surely had a good reason as to why it was called the Great Lake and Alan wondered if he would ever see any of the Merpeople that were supposed to live down there. Maybe there were other creatures as well, making him glance towards the Stables in the distance. The view was nearly blocked by the hill; another place Alan loved to sit at. He would sit there doing his homework while listening to the occasional noises from the creature. Sadly he couldn't see them, but there was a time for everything and he surely would learn about each of the Creatures that were safe to show to people his age. Those that Griffith wouldn't teach them about in school, he was sure he would study and discover them in the future...

Annie frowned while marching towards the castle. She merely wanted to help Professor Davis with any task for Herbology she could but was shooed away. Her frown disappeared once she turned around and saw the Great Lake. The girl hesitated before racing down the hill as fast as her small legs could manage.
Annie came to a stop to catch her breath before lying down on her stomach next to the edge of the lake. She huffed and rested her chin on her arms as her gaze met her own reflection in the water. The young girl blinked before getting onto her knees and moving closer, her nose nearly touching the water. A fish swam by and splashed it's tail as water droplets splattered upon Annie's face. She gasped and freaked out, falling backwards onto her back with a small thud.
As the girl has expected, her face became bright red in embarrassment before looking around to see if anyone saw her being stupid. Her gaze stopped on a boy whom was sitting a few lengths away from her. Had he seen her? She shook her head and covered her still red face with her hands before groaning, absolutely mortified that a fish had spooked her.

♫nice to meet you, ofc it's fine!
Alan was surprised when he heard sudden steps and Tiger soon jumped up to escape droplets of water that splashed away from the Lake when a fish did a flip. However Tiger then crouched closer to investigate the Lake for the fish that could be the perfect pray, making Alan roll his eyes at the cat, before his gaze followed to where he had heard the noises.
It was a girl and Alan watched her, before he began laughing lightly, clasping a hand in front of his mouth to stop the noise from escaping, knowing that it was rude because the girl was feeling uncomfortable with the situation already. His hair had colored into a soft blue with blonde strands, meaning that his usually chestnut colored hair was pretty much gone.
”A-are you okay?”, he asked shyly, after his laughing had ebbed down and he looked at the probably younger girl in nervous curiosity. What even had happened for her to react in such way, like sprinting towards the lake and the getting scared that fishes live in a Lake? Wasn't that a normal assumption? Next to the second year Tiger was pawing at the water, flinching back whenever his paw touched the surface.

Annie slowed her breathing before she noticed the boy had approached her. Her heart rate started picking up again. "Err yeah.. I just got carried away, the lake is really pretty." She turned her head to stare at the water as small ripples and bubbles appeared on the surface. A small smile appeared on her face before she turned back to the boy.
She stood awkwardly near the boy before spotting a multi-colored cat with splotches. Her eyes lit up in excitement as she cooed at the cat. "What a handsome fellow, he looks pretty young and I know that pattern anywhere, he must be a Bengal! What's his name?"
The young girl bent down into the grass, her grey skirt fanning out around her and her long brown wavy hair almost brushing the grass. She reached her hand out cautiously for the cat to sniff before turning her attention back to the boy. "Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot to introduce myself how rude. My name's Annie Morgan, First year Hufflepuff." She wiped her hands on her grey skirt, ignoring the dirt and grass stains and reached her hand out to offer it to the boy while she waited for his reply.

Alan was confused as to how the girl knew the gender of his cat. He never mentioned it and it was not noticeable at first glance either. This was feeling a bit weird for Alan so he just gave her a nervous smile, confusion dancing in his eyes. Not that he looked any less friendly, more as if he was lost in his thoughts. He took a deep breath, collecting himself and staring at the girl.
It was weird that she knew Tiger's gender without checking or asking for it, but he would give her the benefit of the doubt or maybe she just guessed it. ”Oh, his name is Tiger! How did you know his gender is there a way to spot it at first glance? If so teach me, I love animal facts!”, he offered her a genuine smile now, more curious than skeptical. Maybe he could even tell Elena the trick because she had trouble identifying the gender of a Crup during an event...
”I'm Alan Vanes, second year Gryffindor but introductions are boring so let's move on to something more interesting-” he sat up, reaching for Tiger before he could fall into the Lake, because Alan was sure he would wail for hours. ”-You like animals in general? Or only cats?”

Annie shrugged at his first question. "I don't know how I knew he was a boy, I could just tell, maybe a lucky guess? That probably doesn't make any sense huh?" She blushed lightly in embarrassment. Her eyes sparkled as he introduce himself and his cat to her. "Tiger is such a fitting name for him, he's still a kitten, did you get him really young? Usually Magical Menagerie doesn't sell kittens this young, or am I wrong?"
Annie paused before responding to his other question. "Oh, I adore animals, and magical creatures. I'm super disappointed I can't take Care of Magical Creatures yet.." A small frown appeared on the girl's face before returning her gaze to Alan as she spoke. "When I was younger my mum found me playing dress up with a gnome in the garden once. Thankfully it was her and not my dad cause my dad's a muggle and he would have freaked out." She laughed at the thought, a smile spread across her face as her eyes twinkled happily.
Now, she laid back on the grass and stared up at the cloudless, blue sky. Annie took a deep breath and closed her eyes in relaxation only to open them again and sneeze. "I love cats, but I should have mentioned I'm allergic a tad allergic to them." She grinned sheepishly while glancing at Tiger in adoration.

Alan just stared at her curiously. How could she be so confident when taking a guess? That was amazing, she must secretly be confident or something. Alan just smiled at her lightly. ”It's fine, just surprising!”, he explained carefully, not wanting to step on her toes. ”Yeah I chose the name because of Bengal Tigers and he is like a wild cat, it is rather funny~”
Alan chuckled lightly at her words, the story seemed fun. He had done some crazy stuff as a child, but that is what kids do. ”I will start having it after the summer break, I am so excited!”, he cheered happily. Alan wondered if his other choices would stay as planned. Ancient Runes and maybe Muggle Studies. The latter sounded a bit boring though, so he was not all too sure about it.
”You are allergic? Maybe you should keep some distance then? I couldn't imagine how bad it is to be allergic to any kind of animal...” Alan meant that honest. Being allergic in some way to an animal or creature? He was not sure if he could deal with that. He would probably ignore his allergy until he got used to being around said animal.

Annie furrowed her eyebrows. "Ah, I have not heard about Bengal tigers in my home country.. I come from Ireland if you were wondering, my accent has almost completely gone now." She shrugged in response "Ah that should be fun for you, I will still have to wait an entire year before I can take Care of Magical Creatures.."
Annie bit her lip in frustration. "That doesn't stop me from learning about them though, my family raises Kneazels and I love reading about magical creatures especially dragons." She let out a small laugh.
"It's not too bad, I still love cats, if I was deathly allergic that would be one thing but animals and magical creatures are my passion so I won't give up on that." Her eyes lit up when she spoke about her passion. "Maybe when I graduate I can do something with magical creatures.." Annie stared off into the distance before shaking her head. "I'm probably being unrealistic huh?" She blushed lightly and gave a shy smile.
Annie looked back over to Alan. What about you? You seem to like animals and magical creatures as well, what do you want to do?" She watched Alan, curiously waiting for his response.

He shrugged again. ”I have never seen a real one either... but it is a Tiger race, so hearing the cat race Bengal reminded me of that,” he explained with a soft smile. He loved the cat and was extremely happy that he found him. He would probably become the coolest Bengal cat the world had seen. It was his first pet, his parents had never allowed him to adopt one before, but now he was old enough. Maybe it was because they wanted him to be happy, have a friend while both of his parents were in the United States, because of his father needing medical treatment there.
”Kneazles are amazing creatures and it is totally noticeable when a cat is part Kneazle because of their behavior and stuff!”, Alan had never seen a Kneazle, but he would like to and maybe they would learn about them in an event that was lead by Griffith. ”If you wanna meet creatures the professor has these events for us students where you can sign up for... I am pretty sure that there is a poster somewhere in the Leaky Cauldron-”, he muttered. Maybe she could check that out over the summer.
”I want to be a magizoologist and have my own rehabilitation praxis-”, he told her, all under the motto 'Dream Big'.

I am so SO angry! I wrote down my entire response, forgot to copy it like I do (just in case) and poof, gone..
Annie smiled at the adoration Alan showed for Tiger. "You know, I'd love to have a pet but my mum and dad haven't said anything, maybe this summer I'll ask again." She puffed her bangs out of her face. "I mean yes, they are a lot of responsibility on top of school work but sometimes I don't want to interact with people, so in that sense, animals are good company."
Her face remained passive as she listened to Alan speak. "Kneazels are very particular creatures and one of the only magical creatures our family can have because my dad's a muggle. Poor dad still thinks they are just exotic cats." Annie grinned at the thought.
She blinked at his next response. "You think Professor Griffith would sit down and have a chat with me about creatures, I can offer to bring one of our family's Kneazels gor a lesson one day.." Annie paused and listened to his statement about events held by the Professor. "Oh true, that could be fun, I'll have to keep my eyes out for events at the Leaky Cauldron then?"
She watched Alan as he talked about his 'Big Dream'. Annie turned her face to the Great Lake and stared at it for awhile. " It's amazing that you know what you want to after you graduate, I admire your confidence." How much time had gone by just sitting here and talking with the young Gryffindor? Annie quickly scribbled on some extra parchment she had stored away in her robes and folded the paper. She sighed and got up off the grass. Her skirt more filthy then when she arrived, blew in the small breeze. Annie turned to give him a small smile.
"Thank you, I don't know what for but I hope we meet again." She handed him the small piece of parchment that showed a little sleeping Bengal kitten with the word 'Tiger' written next to the picture. Her gaze turned to Tiger, whom was wide awake, unlike in the drawing. She turned her back to Alan and took a deep breath. From there the little Hufflepuff began her climb back up to the castle.
I didn't know if I should end it or not this early but I didn't know where else this could go.. if you want to write a response to this message you can and we can end it or have a sudden suprise/twist thing? I dunno, thanks for your patience c:
