The Picnic
Eileen had been sitting there watching everything unfold. She just wanted to eat some food and make some friends but now, the small group expanded slowly. More and more people invited themselves in, which Eileen did not have a problem with, but had a feeling that maybe the twins did have a problem with the amount of people showing up. She continued to shove her mouth with the delicious food straight from the castle's kitchen. Still as delicious as the first time she ate the cooking of the house elves.
However, the scene that was unfolding in front of her was obviously strange. The sickly looking boy, named Kaegen, spoke in a strange way. Even his answer to her question was strange. Then suddenly a girl with bright colored hair joined them. She spoke as if she knew Kaegen, but Kaegen acted as if he had never seen her in his life.
Another mouthful of food.
Then, another boy wearing red and gold colors joined their party. "Can I have a cookie?"asked the boy. A lot was happening all of a sudden. She knew the girl with bright hair introduced herself, but Eileen didn't really hear what her name was. "So, um, El....aine," she took an educated guess at the name. "How do you know Kaegen?"

Elena waved at the new boy, curiously, then frowned. The girl didn't get her name quite right, but then again there were so many Elenas at this school that hoping for someone with a different name was more than fair enough. Elaine wasn't that bad, she supposed, but still not as cool as Elena, or Lyric, or Ella. Ella was basically Elena again though, as names went.
Elena took a bite of her sandwich, "Elena, or you can call me Elly, I have a few other nicknames but ever since this guy over here decided a Midsummer Night's Dream reference was a personal threat I've taken to not using them."
"Oh, how do I know him? Few different places, abandoned toilets, the lake, he once hit a prefect with an impeccably placed diffindo right in front of me. I was running away screaming at the time but it was rather well done." Elena put an unopened chocolate frog in front of Kaegen, "Have some chocolate, it's my favourite brand, you can even keep the card."
Elena smiled brightly at Kaegen then turned her attention back to her sandwich and munched away happily on it. There was no place for fear when you'd been beaten up, almost kidnapped, and tripped down the owlery stairs twice.

I noticed Keagen slide away so I did the same but I moved closer to him.
"Hey, Keagen, do you have any hobbies, likes, dislikes, just tell us about yourself" I said looking at the pale boy who had me falling head over heels in love. I looked up and was shocked to find so many people sitting at my picnic but i just smiled and said
"Hey, Levi could you go get my other umbrella please?" he only responded with a small nod and he got up and left I looked around at the new faces and then suddenly remembered that the other boy who walked up had asked for a cookie I looked up at him, smiled then said
"of course you can! we have plenty!" picked up the plate and offered one to him.
"So would y'all like to play a game?" I said looking around excitedly I looked at each face and was happy to see my picnic was a success even though I did not know many people here I still am able to have people to talk to and make friends with. I looked around again hoping Levi would be back soon but he was nowhere in sight so I pulled out a deck of cards and started to shuffle them as I almost always do.

"I like food. Living is pretty nice."
Kaegen had no interest in talking, he hadn't come to talk, he had come to eat. He came from the fens, he was not of this castle, and didn't care much about those that were. Talking was for those who wanted friends, something that he was not interested in. He was going to write his book, he was going to keep moving, he was going to live and get stronger. He didn't need people, he just needed nourishment. But he did not ignore the people around him. He noticed, for example, that the sickly girl had scooted towards him a little.
She didn't seem like much of a threat, but then again, few things did. Just to be safe, he scooted a little farther away. She had asked him questions about himself just a second ago. Something was wrong, she was interested in him, more than the people around him. She was focused. Why would that be, what had he done? He could dimly hear someone talking about his exploit in the bathroom that one day, but everyone already knew of that.
He scooted a few more feet away, ignoring the offer to play a game, assuming she wasn't talking to him. After all, why would she offer someone like him a game of cards?

[font=Abadi MT Condensed Light]Kaegen was about to get overwhelmed, and what had happened in the past when he was overwhelmed? Near murder, attempted at most and terrified self defence at the very least.
It wasn't Luna's fault, to a point, she didn't quite... listen perhaps? To Elena's thinly veiled warning that he tried to kill a prefect. Kaegen's mind appeared to be fading out, oh god did the girl have a crush on him? Really?
Elena looked at Kaegen's sickly pale skin and wild eyes and decided anyone that attempted that pathway was clearly mad. She needed a window of escape, or at least some method of allowing Kaegen to escape as well, something that'd catch everyone's attention for more than a few minutes.
"Oh look is that professor Barclay?" Elena said loudly than was strictly necessary, and pointed at a patch of shadows near the castle, "I've never seen him out in the day before, isn't that interesting?"
Then, while hopefully everyone was distracted, Elena jumped up and ran away at high speed in the opposite direction. Down to the great lake, and hoped she didn't have to hear the inevitable screams from pushing the sickly pale future dark lord too far over the edge.

"ELENA! COME BACK!" I yelled trying to get her to come back 'why did she run?' I thought she looked kind of scared. I sighed and looked back at everyone Keagen had moved ferther from me 'Does he not like me?' I thought as Levi returned with our umbrella setting it up to cast a shadow over the blanket "Thank you Levi" I said smiling at my brother "um... Luna where did Elena go?" He asked confused that she was gone "Uh... I don't know where I just know that she ran away..."
"Why?" Levi asked hopeing that she was ok he thought sadly 'all of us were just starting to be friends too'
I looked at Levi seeing the worry in his eyes "Should we go look for her?" I asked everyone hopeing someone could help me make the decision on what to do. I looked up at the clear sky and felt the wind blew gently. Fall was coming she could feel it. The sun still held high in the sky for the picnic had started earlier this morning they were almost out of food for everyone had had their fill. I then looked in the direction that Elena ran wondering why she ran in the first place.
"Why?" Levi asked hopeing that she was ok he thought sadly 'all of us were just starting to be friends too'

Did Kaegen want to leave? No, not really. He had just gotten food, and didn't really have plans to go anywhere in a hurry for quite some time. But as soon as he heard that professor barclay was around, that he was walking around outside and not only that but he was walking around outside? Oh, no. Kaegen was no fool, this was not safe any more, he wasn't sure if it ever was. His dark pupils flared out like two splashing puddles of ink, and then he was up and off, running away from the castle, towards the game cabin.
He had not expected the astronomy professor to be out and about, and he couldn't catch sight of him anywhere either. But he had probably come from the castle, and that meant that Kaegen's best bet was probably away from the castle. It was logic as infallible as it came, and logic that he was very much going to stick with. He had unpleasant run ins with the professor before, which is probably why elena had used that professor to set Kaegen to flight. But regardless of her intentions, it worked very well, and within seconds Kaegen was over the nearest hill, sprinting for the edge of the grounds.
