Riptide Wanderings
Date Sept 2nd Outfit EN/FR/RU #eac77b/#008080/#6495edAccording to Ari, too soon approached the opportunity which allowed the first years to roam the castle. The boy, although not overwhelmed, did not find peace in the sheer vastness of the castle. The Great Hall, itself, was a scene of which Ari had to take minutes to truely take in, all the while attempting to dodge the rather skittish groups of first years who inadvertently wandered his way. For the length of time that he held himself in the room, his subconcious had been urging him to head elsewhere, somewhere more peaceful and quiet, somewhere he could seek comfort in a calmer ambience. He, however, took a seat and gave himself a few more minutes for his senses to discover the room.
He took in the fragrance of freshly baked pastries, the scents of cinnamon and vanilla subtly drifted through the air, leaving the boy to ponder their origin. The hall was filled with the sound of people talking and laughing, held within the exquisitely crafted walls that must have cost a large fortune to construct. The atmosphere, with each of the four tables of the room holding many different groups of students, was utterly buzzing with animation. However, Ari noticed that there were other first-year who opted to leave the hall, despite the significant size of the collective group.
Maybe this was the ambience and environment he was looking for...
Certainly not, there were too many people, none of whom he knew.
With his ukulele and journal in either hand, the boy set off to find the exit of the absurdly colossal room. He knew the general direction of the doorway; however, navigating through the croud was a whole different story. Ari had to constantly adjust his course according to who stood in the way of his immediate path. However, his determination to find solace in a quieter place was held at a diamond pedestal.
Upon leaving the Great Hall, he breathed a sigh of relief, grateful that no one had given him any problems. The halls he wandered weren't nearly as meticulously detailed as the Great Hall, only meant to provide its inhabitants shelter as they roamed about the castle. As he strolled, he caught sight of what appeared to be a lake through the corridor's windows, prompting him to backtract for a clearer view of what he though he had seen.
His sight did not deceive him; it was, in fact, a lake. When he left the hall, he felt a refreshing breeze that seemed to guide him toward the spacious, sloping hill that separated the school from the lake. Observing that other groups were permitted near the water, he chose a spot to sit at that was halfway down the hill.
As he made himself comfortable, he retrieved his journal, and turn to a page labeled "Riptide, Vance Joy", glancing over it for a few seconds. The page contained all the information that one would require to play the song on a ukulele - lyrics, chords, strumming patterns, and tempo. This song was one of the simpler ones Ari had received from his uncle, allowing him to play it perfectly in the past.
Finally, he started to play.@Remedy Norden
