Dear Airlia and Thea,
We're Quill Palls now! If I'm being honest, this is the first time I've done this type of thing before, so I think this will be an interesting experience, especially with three people involved. Guess that means we'd have to send twice the letters to each other. It's a lot more different than talking in person, but I don't mind. There's something about writing letters that makes you really think about what you're going to say, which is something you can't really do when you have a face-to-face conversation. As a person who doesn't know how to shut up sometimes, I think it will definitely help me step back and think about what I do.
So, to start us off, how are you doing? Right now, I'm drowning in homework. Exams are coming soon, so that means there's a lot of studying to do. It's pretty stressful, and it's so tedious, too. I'm hopeful that I'll do decent on exams, but there's just so much to memorize. Charms should be easy, if I'm able to have the right amount of concentration and if I get the wand movement and incantation, but sometimes, there's moments when I blank out. It's embarrassing, but I suppose it's just something I have to learn to overcome. It's kind of the same for the other subjects, where you'd need a lot of concentration and effort to get things right, but Transfiguration especially needs a lot of precision. All in all, I think I'll definitely need to put all my focus in studying those previous lessons if I want to do good for the exams.
Is there anything else you're up to? Maybe some clubs, activities, or just weird magical adventures? Personally, I'm not finding a lot of things to do in school, other than read in the library or go outside to visit the Great Lake, or just stop and stare at stuff, like the pictures on the walls, or whatever's in the trophy room. It gets pretty boring at times, but maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places, and in all fairness, there had been a fair share of interesting moments here. I mean, a lot of the time, it's really just a matter of getting the homework done on time and making sure you don't blow up a spell or potion in class. Still, it's only the first year, so there might be more things to come in later years.
I think I'm going to end this letter here. I really need to finish studying if I don't want to fail those exams, and if I write any more, I'm probably going to end up rambling. Feel free to send a letter back and let me know how you're holding up with your classes and anything else you have.

You're my first quill pal too! Nice to know that I'm not the only one feeling quite unsure of myself while writing.
Letters are a great way to extend your vocabulary and writing skills of proper nature. Or so my mother tends to say. I think she'd just trying to excuse the fact that she sends dozens of letters every day. To whom, I don't know.
Exams really are stressful so I understand your hurry. I think that applies to almost every single student at school at the moment. People are out of time but need to study even more. I am rather horrible at studying. Staring at books has not helped me in a long time. Especially in potions. I'm pretty sure I'll pass my tests but with rather low scores on some.
I've been mainly reading. You might have seen me in the common room. I'm not exactly studying since I'm mainly reading astronomy books that are far below my knowledge level. I have been taught astronomy at home since childhood and quite frankly it is my best subject and as such, I wouldn't really need to read for it, but I want to. Do you have any subjects you're really good at and others where you feel like you're reading the book upside down? That definitely happens to me a lot.
I've had some quiet time for myself since I've had a bit of a hectic school year. Going home will be nice I guess. I haven't been doing anything too interesting to tell you about. At least not this week. I have been bored to the core. I agree about the homework load. It's sometimes almost impossible to finish in time if you wish to actually go eat and live like a normal human being. I've blown up cauldrons in potions, but thankfully never people. Don't you think that there should be less homework?
Take your time in answering if you're busy. I don't want your workload to be even bigger because of me. I hope you all the success in getting the grades you have wished and worked for.
